Chapter 499 Pulp
Chapter 499 Pulp
"This is almost too easy, don't you think so?" Dilan asked. He burst into laughter when he finished the last Tier 3 Ascenders around Clark Mekaz.
Dilan had held back a lot and had merely knocked out the Ascenders, instead of injuring, let alone killing them.
His body was shrouded in lightning currents and water bubbles revolved around his body as he looked straight at Clark.
"If you're too scared to fight me, just say the word, and we can enter the military base," Dilan said in a simple manner, not hiding that he enjoyed the uncertainty and trace of desperation in the eyes of the young man.
Clark Mekaz might be a few years older than him, but Dilan could easily tell that the young man had yet to learn a few things about the changes in the world.
In the past it might have been enough to be a Marshal, a General, or to belong to the most influential military family on the continent, but that was not the case anymore.
In the current era, only true strength was considered to be valuable. In the end, it might be important to have a bunch of connections but all of them were useless without power!
"I am not scared!!" Clark growled, but his actions betrayed the confidence he was putting on. His sword was shaking and so were his legs.
'He is ready to sacrifice himself for the safety of his people, that's good, and bad,' Dilan thought, feeling that his sister would suffer the most because of the 'heroic' trait of her husband. That was if she truly loved him, which was what Dilan presumed.
"In that case you can play around with a little bit of water," Dilan announced, releasing water bullets from the tens of water bubbles that revolved around him.
The water bullets were aimed at Clark's vital spots and his aim was spot on. Dilan didn't miss a single water bullet, which was also why the first batch of attacks was more than enough to flung Clark's weapon away and to force him onto his knees.
Several dents could be seen all over Clark's armor. The dents were now digging inside his body, causing severe discomfort.
However, Dilan didn't really feel much when he saw the pained expression of his sister's husband. It was necessary to teach him a lesson. That was enough reason for Dilan to fire two more batches of water bullets at the young man, who could hardly defend himself.
Whenever Clark Mekaz wanted to defend himself, Dilan intervened either physically or with the use of his Green Magic, the Intermediate Lightning Spirit or the Power of Destruction.
Clark Mekaz was helpless against a monster like Dilan, but that was clear to everyone's eye. There were still many Guards on the walls of the military base who were watching the battle, and holding their weapons to fire at will.
But they were in a moral dilemma. The moment they fired, Clark would inevitably sustain heavy injuries, or even die! That was not something they could accept, especially since it was not even certain that the attacks would be effective against the powerful Intruder! The past few attacks had now even bruised the young man let alone injure him.
This left Dilan and Clark all on their own outside the military base while hundreds of Guards took a look at their face off from high above. Some had tears in their eyes, while others were speechless because of the brute force Dilan could exhibit.
Dilan finished his brutal attack after the third batch of water bullets. His finishing touch was the use of a minuscule zap of electricity which he shot right in-between Clark's eyebrows.
The zap knocked the poor young man out and Dilan had to shoot forward to catch him.
"Brother-in-law, you are really loud. You should train your martial arts instead of your mouth," Dilan chuckled, bursting into laughter not long after.
He kept smiling while throwing one of Clark's arms around his neck with the intention to carry him inside.
"How about you guys get down here and pick up your friends?" Dilan asked when he looked up to the Ascender Guards, who had watched the entire 'fight' of Dilan against everyone else.
The Ascenders froze in place the moment Dilan looked up at them. Nobody moved for almost half a minute, which was more than enough for his smile to widen.
"If you want me to, I can go up and push you guys down the wall. You guys should know that nobody here is able to challenge my commands, or restrict me," He offered in a nonchalant manner. By now everyone around should know that Dilan was the strongest.
The Ascender Guards understood this as well. They nodded their heads slowly and went down the walls. It took them a while to open the gate of the military base, let alone step outside, where they would have to face Dilan head-on.
Their legs were shaking and their hearts were about to burst apart. However, all of that was of no concern for Dilan.
"Can you guys hurry up a little bit? I have a rendezvous with my sister!" Dilan shouted out loud and the Ascender Guards came rushing forward. They picked up their colleagues after making sure that this was actually what the Intruder wanted before they brought them inside.
Meanwhile, Dilan looked at his brother-in-law with a smirk on his face. He patted his cheek lightly before he turned in the direction of the military base.
"The last ones to arrive are always the best, isn't that right?" Dilan joked, giving his brother-in-law another slap before he made his way inside the military base.
When he entered the military base, hundreds of weapon muzzles were aimed at him, and tens of razor-sharp blades were pointed at him.
There were also a few fireballs, bolts of lightning and other elemental attacks that had been conjured with the intention to blow Dilan into oblivion.
"Only my poor brother-in-law will die if you attack me, and nobody here wants him to die, or am I wrong?" He asked seriously while pointing at the unconscious Clark.
"Let him go and fight us fair and square!!" A loud voice resounded through the surrounding area but Dilan could only scoff.
His head flicked in the direction of the voice and the hideous face of a nobody entered his view.
"You are brave but let me tell you this- the moment we fight fair and square, death and destruction will eradicate the military base from the map," Dilan said nonchalantly before he turned his head in a different direction as he sensed something particular.
'There she is, the star of the show!' He thought in his mind when he saw the overly familiar persona of his sister. Long brown hair and vibrant green eyes entered his sight. Lara looked far more lively than ever before, but that was only obvious.
Dilan was pretty sure that Lara was finally doing fine now that there were no shackles of their father holding her down. This was enough to give Lara a reason to feel joy in life, fall in love and get pregnant.
Her belly was clearly visible and if Dilan had to guess how far her pregnancy had already progressed, he would probably say that she was in the last hurdles of her pregnancy!
"Darling!!" Lara shrieked the moment she saw that Clark Mekaz was unconscious, and merely standing due to Dilan's support.
'Oi…your lovely brother returned from death…I'm also here…'
