Chapter 315 315. MYSTERY
315. MYSTERY
Noah took a deep breath as his eyes beamed with the light of complete focus. Beads of sweat dripped down his face, and his clothes stuck to his skin due to the intense amount of perspiration his body underwent.
His target looked to be a 6ft tall dummy that looked plain, even if it was made of an alloy that his attacks couldn't penetrate. Lady Sarah remained outside of the court, but her full attention fell on the spectacular and incredibly handsome man before her. He was about to do something so outrageous she struggled to wrap her big brain around it.
Letting out his breath slowly, Noah muttered a word, which was closely followed by the sound of his foot stumping the ground and causing a mighty bang. "Thunder," Noah had uttered as his whole existence seemed to go silent.
His entire being seemed to go stiff, but it was only his body.
"Thunder..." Noah uttered after a second had passed, then his figure flickered out of sight, before suddenly appearing in two positions. However, his two figures were merely four feet from each other.
Despite the lackluster display of a familiar second form, Elder Sarah burst into applause, and her face shone with the bright light of her charming smile.
Never in her life had she met someone as talented as the man before her, and she struggled to think there would be another like him born. The world couldn't handle two of such monsters.
Noah spent exactly seven seconds in that state before coming to a stop and appearing in one position
His state had changed afterward.
Even more, sweat dripped down his face and body, and his face seemed to have even gone pale. "I barely conserved enough energy," Noah muttered chastising himself. "I need to work more on my breathing control and find an amount of power that wouldn't chip into my full stamina quickly," he concluded while he experienced a rapid recovery.
It wasn't that he was tired, only that during the weeks of practicing, he had learned an incredible skill of bottling up a large amount of his body's stamina while only letting a small portion out.
The second form was draining and he couldn't jeopardize his fighting prowess for a simple execution, even if it would help him against an opponent.
"That was a wonderful display!" Elder Sarah exclaimed walking into the court through the metallic door.
"Master! I'd forgotten you were here," Noah said startled. He had not heard her clapping until she talked to him.
Ignoring his words Elder Sarah continued. "You clearly lack proper control over the amount of energy expended, you still did marvelously. A far cleaner execution than I had expected when you told me you had finally gotten it." She continued to circle him while assessing his execution.
"My master would die of shock and jealousy if he saw the apprentice I was raising," she gave a cheeky smile, that managed to speak volumes about the myriads of emotions swirling within her sadistic, but also experienced mind.
Noah gave a casual shrug at her words before moving on to lift the metallic dummy and take it outside the court. He had only used it as a mental target, nothing else.
Lady Sarah continued to speak about his execution while he continued to think about a better way to execute the second form.
At some point during the five weeks, Noah realized that where the main work of the execution lay, was the initial take-off. If he got the right amount of stamina burnt there, he would be capable of maintaining it and slowly begin to increase it, which meant more speed.
It felt shocking that what the mere empowerment of the speed force could achieve in an instant, took him that much time to learn. Unfortunately due to his abilities being a secret, he couldn't utilize the effects of his essence on his body to execute the form. At least not currently.
Noah could immediately tell that performing the second form with his Speed Essence in play would allow him to do it with ease, and even make him more powerful.
He had to admit that although he hadn't gained any groundbreaking new level of strength, his understanding of his abilities and what he could now do continued to skyrocket.
He could already see himself dominating the various forms with his base form alone, he couldn't begin to envision what doing the same with speed essence would achieve. The mere thought sent waves of excitement down his spine.
At some point during his thoughts, Noah realized that Elder Sarah had stopped talking, and looked back to see her staring at him, but in thoughts.
"I never thought you'd achieve the second form this quickly, not to talk of in time for an important event amid the higher echelons of the guild." Her words sparked a deep curiosity within Noah. He had literally not left the underground training area for months now, and even his facial features had changed.
His constantly pristine-looking white hair, had grown longer, and now neared his waist, and it was of course shabby and unkempt. Noah almost resembled a homeless entity if not for his shining blue eyes, stunning facial features, and toned body. He had removed the upper part of the attire given to him by his master. He couldn't even begin to count the number of clothes he had gone through in the last almost four months.
His chin had started to feature white hair. A detail that had surprised him when Elder Sarah mentioned it to him. Why now? He had thought, but could only blame that event on the natural process of men's growth after he found no answers.
"What do you mean by that?" Noah asked mopping his body of sweat using a green piece of ragged attire. He recalled wearing it a bit over three weeks ago.
A sigh escaped Elder Sarah's mouth at that point, and her eyes clearly scanned his devilishly attractive body.
"You look like crap. Come up and freshen up, then we'll talk," She replied shaking her head in faked disgust.
A wide knowing smile took form on Noah's face at that point. He took no offense in her words, he had known her a bit deeper to understand that she made statements like that when he achieved something that left her shocked and feeling respect for him.
With the mystery of her words still ringing in his ears, Noah followed her up for the first time in about two months.
