Chapter 349 349. FIFTY-FIVE MINUTES
Astonishment reached Noah's eyes before he knew what was going on. Something within him continued to buzz madly and he was forced to recall his partially hybrid state.
It felt like anger mixed with pride mixed with a deep sense of superiority. The situation confused him even if he had felt like that a few times, though such events only occurred a handful of times.
His scream seemed to have startled the beasts before him since they all went silent and continued to stare at him. Noah however, noticed something deep in the air.
Fear.
Sure their instincts might have reacted to his level of power and scream, but their fear felt tangible. It felt sentient and intelligent as if he had awakened something within their dark and wild minds.
A frown appeared on Noah's eyebrows while his eyes remained on the stiff beasts before him. Their power was subpar, to say the least. Many of them were lower stage, and none crossed its peak.
There were even peak tier 2's In the mix, but one thing was certain, all of them felt the same fear. The weaker beasts probably felt it more intensely.
After the scream his figure had stopped being human to their beastly gazes. He stood somewhere their survival instincts struggled to gauge, which caused fear. Coupled with his power. The scream had made his aura flare, revealing to them the weight his existence carried.
Most cultivators could achieve the same effect his aura achieved, but could not achieve what his scream attained.
The area was dead silent as the beast considered their options. By strength alone, Noah dwarfed them. But the innate fear their minds spoke to them of, was more intense.
'What am I even supposed to do now,' Noah thought never removing his eyes from the still beasts, they had not moved a muscle even after one minute passed. The scene was creepy to say the least.
Thankfully however, one of the many beasts before him groaned and began its dash towards him.
Noah swore he could smell its fear, but he moved anyway. One of them had decided to attack, it was only a matter of time before the others joined in.
His figure knocked off the white bear off the mountain path as he reached the white fox trying to attack him.
A right-handed slap landed on the beasts large face, and his almost casual action dug the shape of his palm into the beasts head bursting its eyes and crushing that side of its skull.
The fox died before much could be done, since Noah's left fist smashed into its face and shattered its skull as its head receded into its figure unnaturally.
However, rather than focus on the beast beginning to lose their shortly gained intelligence, Noah frowned at the issue of the icy floor.
A curse exited his lips when he found that he was about to trip and fall.
Fortunately he managed to grab hold of an apes arm to hold himself up, before proceeding to begin to spin it, knocking off or directly killing many of the beasts it touched.
Noah let go of the white furred ape at some point and began to run down the path. Unfortunately the slippery ice proved a really serious issue. The sole of his boots couldn't do much in that case.
Noah had to adapt and began to skating by propelling himself forward with one foot, while bending his knees to maintain his balance. Unfortunately the various beasts rushing towards him proved how annoying it would be till his next elevation.
Noah's daggers appeared in his grip at that juncture.
While mastering the art of skating with his shoes, he began to slash nonstop making sure his strikes hit as many beasts as possible.
In no time, Noah began to leave a trail of dead beasts who's furs were mostly white. Unfortunately he couldn't allow the system store them, since the beasts vanished immediately they died.
He continued to skate with his shoes even if his movement speed was subpar, he feared sliding off the mountains path since it featured quite a few sharp curves.
Noah moved at a steady pace, but his fingers and arms continued to flicker up and down as his slashes never stopped killing or disabling beasts.
At some point however, he stopped his deadly activity, since the frequency of the beasts had reduced.
He had to spend quite a bit before he reached the next elevation and its layout was filled with beast like the one he had just crossed.
A sigh escaped his mouth at the sight before him, but he still still dashed forward nonetheless, and immediately began to do the same thing as he had been doing for the last few minutes.
Noah felt genuinely tired at that point, since the beasts began to get relentless, and some began to throw themselves at him to allow the others find a good attacking spot.
He had found himself on the cold ground many times during such instances, and had needed to be extremely violent in his mode of escaping the barrage of bodies that would find themselves on his figure.
? Claw attacks had reached him many times; tearing his clothes after their frequency reached a certain point.
At some point Noah began to utilize the first form more frequently, and even executed the second form to get out of really bad positions. He eventually felt confident enough and increased his movement speed, which allowed him to escape many of the reckless actions the beast tried to take on him.
The culmination of his efforts through all three of the remaining paths had resulted in the sight before him.
He found himself having to hop a few times to arrive on level ground, and before him was visible barrier acting as wall that started from the two pillars that stood at what resembled the entrance of a settlement, a large one at that.
A sigh of relief escaped his mouth at that sight and he didn't hesitate to cross the pillars and watched his bracelet begin to beep.
Noah ended up spending exactly thirty five minutes to arrive there in total, leaving a whooping 55 minutes left. His points bar was immediately credited with 110 points, and he moved on with his life.
