Chapter 521 521. GOLDEN-SASHED EXPERTS
Chapter 521 521. GOLDEN-SASHED EXPERTS
Noah strode down the golden hallways of the enormous palace at the center of the area within the clouds. Master Ezra walked in front of him. But with each step she took multiple floating screens opened before her until they filled the entire hallway, then she opened her mouth to speak, broadcasting into the city below.
"Attention all guild members. This is a message from your grand elder," She started. "Permission has been given to all middle-stage tier four's who possess a golden sash to ascend into the clouds. Your elder; Adonis, will be waiting to receive you." She paused after which the screen displayed Noah's walking figure.
"This is a fellow guild member. He has challenged you all to battle. And for this reason, we shall hold a tournament of sorts. You all have permission to kill him in battle. But only you. He on the other hand has only the permission to render you into submission. If he ever has such a chance. that is."
Noah shook his head at that announcement. She planned to make a public spectacle of him and he understood. Still, only he knew that the opposite would be what to occur.
He would make a grand entrance back into the ranks of the guild and in that way, he would prove his superiority.
The screens continued to display Noah's breathtakingly handsome features. His mysterious silver eyes were blank, and his movement remained unhurried. He moved as calmly as he normally would. Not like someone who was about to battle close to sixty individuals. The rest were out of the guild.
"You will battle him one by one. But since only a few of you are needed we shall sift through you," She explained when Noah raised his hand. She glanced back at him and saw his extreme calmness.
"Why can't you make it two against one? It'll reduce the time needed to test or evaluate them. It matters not to me since they all have one outcome. Defeat." His words shook the hearts of the listeners and some of the already-arriving experts fell into anger.
Elder Ezra furrowed her brows, she wouldn't consider it to begin with but his next words made her turn cold.
"Or are you scared of losing too many powerful experts? I cannot kill them but I can beat them until they are unable to move about for months, even years," He revealed and felt like gazes from behind the screens threatened to pierce his body.
"Very well. If you have that much of a death wish I shall pit you against two of our golden-sashed experts," She explained and the lower leveled cultivators in the city trembled wildly. Almost all other activities were stopped to listen attentively.
Things were getting interesting. Many wondered who that man was, as there had been newer recruits even amid that war. They felt certain that had an expert with such looks been present, then they would have noticed him. Everyone would have.
The commotion was great within the city as many began to see famous tier 4 experts enter the screen and cheers filled the city.
Golden-sashed experts were in short the most prestigious experts in the entire guild. They had been given that level after many battles won and achievements in the war. Even the royal family and knights acknowledged those experts for their power. They were the bests amongst even the best,
Yet there he was, a man whom many did not recognize but claimed to be capable of handling two of those experts!
It was common knowledge that arrogance was the killer of many experts in that world. It would seem that man held both arrogance and imbecility.
Barely ten minutes had to pass before all the golden-sashed experts remaining in the guild were available.
Noah had been brought into a spatially enhanced room a few kilometers in radius. It was big but plain. At least that was until Elder Ezra activated one of its functions.
Noah watched high-tier mana sweep the entire room and saw lands coming to be.
The mana that had been made to wash over that environment created real earth and even hills in the distance and the light in the room turned blue, the higher portions of that place mimicking the real sky.
That was high-level crafting in display. Only someone with genuine experience like a tier 5 individual could achieve such a feat.
In the span of a few seconds, Noah felt like he had returned to the outside world. The only difference being that the environment before him did not come directly out of Cregar's mana. An expert had been the one to provide the mana for that feat. Still, mana stones existed to keep that place in one piece.
A battle in the fourth tier was about to occur it was obvious those lands would see destruction. But the mana of a tier 5 entity was capable of rebuilding the damage many times before it ran out.
The said cultivators began to arrive and Noah found a few familiar faces, like elder Von, Delilah, and even Anna.
Still, he could already see unwillingness in their expressions. While the others whom he did not know enough shot gazes of anger at him. They felt disrespected by his words.
"You have heard the rules. But now we need to get those who will be first to battle him." Elder Ezra floated in the skies of that place, her voice capable of easily reaching down there.
"We shall settle it with who the fastest are to cross this line," She announced allowing a line to appear a few hundred meters from the group.
The moment she drew it, however, three figures shattered the sound barrier to try and cross that line. Unfortunately one of the three remained too slow compared to the others.
The event had startled the others who had waited for her to give a go-ahead. But then they realized the rule had been super vague.
A smile shone on Elder Ezra's at that turn of events. "It's good to see that there are still individuals capable of taking the initiative," She nodded, satisfied.
"You have your opponents," She announced focusing on Noah who shook his head to take a step forward, placing his foot on a platform of wind and instantly arriving above the duo. He had created no streak.
"Rushing into defeat. What a pity," He announced spreading his arms and allowing his aura to unfold into the world.
Noah bathed that environment in a silver light as his aura forced all the cultivators present to rethink their decision.
