Chapter 536 - A Silent Quarrel Between The Couple

Chapter 536 - A Silent Quarrel Between The Couple

"You mean someone older?." Chen Lihua asked with her gaze on him.

"Not necessarily older, but someone mature and experienced, I think that should be okay." Liu Longwei replied.

??

"Okay then." Chen Lihua said in agreement.

Looking at her son and feeling proud of him, Chen Lihua had a complicated feeling. She was happy her son was a Genius at such a young age, but she was scared he wouldn't be that cheerful and take after his father.

With that thought in mind, Chen Lihua glanced at Liu Longwei with a frown. She could imagine her sweet little boy turning into the cold and aloof Liu Longwei, and she didn't like that.

Liu Longwei felt surprised with the kind of unpleasant looks she was giving to him, so he asked, "Why are you staring at me with so much disgust?."

"I don't want our son to have your temperament." Chen Lihua voiced out her grievances immediately.

Liu Longwei was surprised by her words and became curious to know what she meant by that.

"You have this cold attitude to everyone else, like nothing matters." Chen Lihua said to him.

"Am I not friendly to you and our immediate family members?." Liu Longwei asked with a slight frown. He was speechless and didn't know what was wrong with his wife.

"You are, but to others, you're cold, and I don't want our son to be like that." Chen Lihua said as she hugged Taio.

"You want me to be smiling and acting friendly to other people?." Liu Longwei asked in a helpless tone.

"Did I say that?." Chen Lihua asked with her gaze on him.

Liu Longwei sighed to himself as he got up to his feet.

Seeing that he was leaving, Chen Lihua panicked as she asked, "Where are you going to?."

"Since my wife does not like my temperament and misunderstands me, I had better stay away from her for a while, till she starts to like everything about me just like before." Liu Longwei replied and stepped out of the room without sparing her another glance.

Chen Lihua wanted to say, 'If your wife doesn't like your temperament and misunderstands you, shouldn't you make things right?' but Liu Longwei had already left, and it would be unethical to shout, at least now that she wasn't blinded by anger.

"Taio, your dad looks angry, did I say anything wrong?." Chen Lihua asked the little guy in her arms, but she didn't receive any reply, as Taio had already slept off in her arms.

Chen Lihua sighed to herself as she continued to caress her son's back gently.

When Liu Longwei left the room, he went to his study to work. Earlier, he had in mind to watch movies with Chen Lihua after playing with their son, but with what she said to him, he wasn't in the mood to think about anything, so he buried himself with work, and gradually forgot the plans he had for them.

Chen Lihua carried Taio to his bedroom and covered him with his duvet before walking out of the room.

She went into Liu Longwei's bedroom, but she didn't find him there, so she went to the study and saw him working. He didn't even raise his head to acknowledge her presence.

Because of pride, Chen Lihua didn't want Liu Longwei to think she came to check up on him because she was worried, so she walked into the study and went to sit on her desk.

She opened her laptop and started to work.

They both worked silently with none of them saying a word to each other.

An hour later, a servant knocked on the door and walked in. She came to remind Liu Longwei about the movie since they had finished setting up everything.

Liu Longwei told her to things back in place, as he hard urgent work to do.

"Cancel it. I'll be working till late at night, so there will be no need for it."

The servant bowed and left. She felt the silence between the couple, but she thought they were both very busy with work, so she left.

Even if something was wrong, what can she do about it?. It was not in her place to do anything or gossip.

When Chen Lihua heard from the servant that Liu Longwei prepared a movie date for them, she felt so regretful with what she said to him, but on the other hand, she was anticipating his response. And his response did disappoint her.

She couldn't believe that he just canceled their movie night without saying anything to her. Did he do that because he was angry with her, or because he was very busy with work?

'Was there an emergency?' Chen Lihua thought.

Because she was worried, she became distracted with work, with so many thoughts going through her mind.

Some minutes later, the same servant that came in a while ago, knocked on the door and walked in with a tray.

She went to Liu Longwei's desk and placed a cup of coffee for him with some healthy snacks, before going to Cheb Lihua's desk to place her glass of juice and plate of snacks for her.

"I want sweet doughnuts ?, ask the kitchen to make me some," Chen Instructed in a soft tone after glancing at the stuff that was brought to her.

The servant nodded and left with an empty tray. Since Chen Lihua didn't ask her to take the snacks away, she left them on her desk.

Hearing that she wanted to eat something sweet, Liu Longwei glanced over at her in surprise. And as if remembering something, he felt that it was normal then...

Liu Longwei knew that Chen Lihua didn't like sweet things that much because of her cramps. She said that eating sugary things would cause her to have mental cramps, so she doesn't eat sugary things often.

Now hearing her demand for something sugary, he remembered that she was pregnant, and must be having the cravings to nest something sweet.

Looking away just before the servant left her side, he continued to work. He has some unfinished business, so he had to go on with it.
