Chapter 76
Chapter 76
Chapter 76: No Life Near It.
Though the duo was surprised, they quickly got over it since they could never understand Ozul’s mood.
Since Irene had just left the inn, it would take her some time before she came back with a reason to force them.
In the meantime, Ozul decided to consume the Rank-8 Core he got from Duke Edwin. Ignoring the eager looks on Blaze and Raven’s faces, he asked the latter for the Core.
Raven was confused as to why Ozul suddenly needed the Core because he had long ago stopped consuming them. When she asked about it, Ozul replied that he could not improve anymore by utilizing the Magical Cores.
She swiftly took out the Core from her Spatial Ring and gave it to him. Ozul took the Core out of her hand and inspected it a bit. There was nothing special except for the size.
He wasted no more time and wrapped the Core with his Ball of Purity. It was another thing he had learned from the ‘unlocked memories’.
Ozul didn’t have to eat the Cores; he could also just crush them and only devour the refined Mana inside it.
.....
The Ball of Purity’s liquid form covered the Core and with just a little bit of force from Ozul, it shattered into pieces like a glass ball.
Ozul made it so the shattered pieces just dropped on the ground, while the refined Mana stayed inside his Ball of Purity.
He was using Ball of Purity as a spoon to feed himself with the refined Mana. Just as it brought the Mana inside of him, he felt his body absorbing all of it.
At the same time, it blasted a sudden burst of Mana out of his body. Ozul blamed himself for his forgetfulness. Because this burst of Mana had completely messed up the room.
No matter how much these Mages refined their Mana, his body would always reject more than half of it. It appeared as though it was beneath his sentience to devour such ‘unhealthy food’.
Blaze looked bewildered at Ozul, while Raven had stars in her eyes. It was the same as when Ozul ate the Cores years ago. This meant that he could again improve by eating the Cores!
Ozul ignored the blinding light that he could feel from Raven and focused on his body to check the changes.
Much to his disappointment, it barely made a difference! Ozul devoured a Rank-8 Core, and he didn’t even feel it!
‘Sigh. Why did I think that it would be so easy.’- Ozul internally sighed and got up from the bed under the curious gaze of Blaze.
He did not bother to explain so much to Blaze again, so he just told Raven to do it instead of him while he went out of the room.
He was not a fan of the sunlight, but he wanted to get out of that suffocating room. Hence, he created the pointed black hat on his head and went out.
The inn owner looked fearfully at Ozul’s direction because he had seen the earlier incident with the Silver Knights.
Ozul ignored the looks that were thrown in his way and walked out of the inn. Everyone on the streets had a sleepless face. How could anyone sleep when the screams of the Monster created so much destruction?
He walked straight towards the forest since it would provide some shade. After about 20 minutes, he stood beside a tree, surrounded by the woods from all sides.
He had checked his Ball of Purity but physically testing it was a different feeling. And he had another thing in his mind too.
Ozul had seen Edwin and Podas flying in the air without using any Spell. He wanted to try and see if he could do the same with his Ball of Purity.
His way of advancement was entirely different from any usual Mage, so he could not fly the same way. However, Ball of Purity seemed like a universal tool, so he wanted to give it a try.
First of all, he created a black surfboard-like structure to stand on. Ozul stepped on it and willed it to levitate. Just like he predicted, he could fly!
Moreover, he didn’t even have to waste any extra effort. Just a little bit of balance, and he was all set.
But Ozul wanted something discreet to fly on, instead of this heavy ‘surfboard’.
He cut the Ball of Purity on two small pieces and absorbed the rest of it. Those pieces then changed into the shape of the sole of his shoe and attached under his feet.
It only felt like an extension of his body as the only centimeters thin layer covered the sole of Ozul’s feet. However, it would all be for naught if Ozul could not fly using this.
Fortunately for him, he only required a bit more effort, and he was levitating in the air!
Despite that, Ozul still required to balance himself on those two small soles, so he did not try to fly higher for now. He lacked the practice to remain steady for long.
Also, he couldn’t fly in the battles if he was not proficient enough to fight while also keeping his focus on balancing.
So, he decided that he would practice for a few hours before going back to the inn. Laziness was not an option now. If he wanted to get things done, he would have to work for it-Ozul had learned his lesson.
Therefore, for the next few hours, Ozul experimented with flying. When he felt that he was capable enough to fly high in the air without falling, he started to practice flying using only one of his feet.
When he saw that the Sun was slowly setting, he finished the training and started walking back towards the inn.
Ozul had not even left the woods when he heard the rustling of leaves from a bush nearby. For some reason, he could not feel any life around it. There were no winds in the forest either, so why did it suddenly shake?
With curiosity in his mind, Ozul decided to check the bush.
