Unsealing Emptiness

Chapter 8

Chapter 8

Ball of Purity

Ozul just kept watching as the bandits completed their preparations.

Just as if they were about to move out, they looked back at Ozul and then remembered that not only the guy was completely naked, but was also missing a leg.

Dibly, the half-naked dull guy took out a white shirt and some black baggy pants from his baggage and helped Ozul wear them. The shirt did not matter much, but the pants were hanging from his waist like from a hanger.

Seeing no other way, Dibly bent down and picked Ozul on his back.

And so the bandits started their escort to Azmar Town. They would require at least two hours to reach the city because they were traveling in a forest. Otherwise, walking two miles would just be a matter of twenty minutes.

. . .

*Half an hour later*

Inside the forest, you could see a band of rough-looking men surrounded by a pack of grey wolves. Each wolf was double the size of a normal wolf.

.....

“Boss! These are Dim Wolves. But this pack is unusually big!”

Hearing the shout, Razor thought of what to do. They were just Dim Wolves, and they could quickly deal with them. But Razor won’t take any chances as he had already lost 25 of his men yesterday! He ordered them not to be reckless.

These were not ordinary animals but monsters. Everyone called them monsters because these beasts had been enhanced by mana to such a degree that they had mutated.

Usually, the mutation increases not only their physical strength but also their intelligence.

The bandits were quite familiar with such beasts. They efficiently started killing the wolves.

Meanwhile, Ozul just kept looking at the battle as if watching a show. Watching the bandits kill the wolves, Ozul had an idea.

‘Can I also kill with the Black Mass?’-Ozul thought as he created a pointed blade out it. Ozul could move the Black Mass efficiently under a 3-meter radius from him. It operated at the speed of the sword swing of a master swordsman. No doubt, it could kill people!

Right now, he was on the back of the guy named Dibly. Dibly did not participate in the battle and was watching from the sidelines. So, Ozul had no chance to test the blade.

Just as he was thinking this, One of the wolves came after Dibly. Dibly started panicking as he was carrying Ozul on his back, and the situation was not in his favor.

Dibly was going to go all out! But suddenly,

*fwooosh*

A pitch-black blade flew past him and pierced the head of the wolf!

Just like that, the Dim Wolf died! Some of the bandits who saw the situation were stunned to see that it was the six years old disabled kid, that controlled the black blade!

“Easier than expected.” Ozul just said in a monotone voice. He had expected to require a bit more force, but even this bit of power was enough to kill it.

The bandits who heard him were spitting blood! Killing the wolf was not much of a big deal. Even a tiny bit of talented kid at magic could do the same. But doing it when you were only six years old and disabled, was quite an achievement.

‘Boss Razor was right! This kid is unusual!’- Every bandit had the same thought.

It did not take much longer before they eliminated the wolves. The bandits quickly gathered the bodies before Razor waved his hand, and all the dead bodies disappeared. None of the bandits had any reaction to it.

As they continued on their journey, Ozul, who had nothing to do, was starting to get bored. He couldn’t sleep as the daylight wouldn’t let him! Hence, he decided to satisfy his curiosity.

He started asking Dibly questions about the world.

‘Poor boy! God knows for how long he was kept in that forsaken place. He does not even know about the world!’-thought Dibly as he did his best to explain everything to him. He did not know how much a six years old kid will understand, but he did not hold back anything.

[A/N: Info dump.]

“You see, the land we are on right now is called the Silverbird Kingdom. A kingdom is...”

“Just like this kingdom, there are others on this Egon Continent. We also call it Mainland. A continent is...”

“You see, there is magic, martial arts, and all kinds of things in this world. People who do magic are called Mages, just like people who train their bodies are called Fighters. They each have levels based on the achievements in that particular area.” Dibly may be dull, but he was a knowledgeable guy.

“You are also a Mage, right? You did make that blade out of magic. But I have never seen this type of magic before. Anyways, I won’t ask about your original spell!”

“But you killed the rank-2 monster so easily! You are pretty talented, huh!”

“Rank-2 monster?”- Ozul

“Oh yeah, you don’t know about them either! Just like humans, beasts can also improve! When the creature is only mutated from an animal, he will be considered a Rank-1 monster.

Then it could further improve, and with each improvement, its physical strength and intelligence grow further. Each advancement raises its rank. Magical beasts can also learn magic when their rank increases!”

“I heard that some beasts also learn to talk in human language when they reach a certain rank. The wolves we encountered were a pack of Rank-2 Dim Wolves. Generally, a beast at the same level as a human is weaker, but few are exceptions.

Usually, a Fighter is far weaker than a Mage at the same rank. A Rank-1 Mage could defeat a couple of rank-1 fighters, and the difference only grows with the levels.”

“You killed the wolf so quickly, so you must be at least Rank-2 Mage! You must have practiced hard.” It seemed that Dibly was impressed with Ozul.

‘Hmm... I am not a mage if it requires training. Come to think of it; I was born different! This Black Mass also does not seem like a spell. It’s more like a tool; That I was born with. I think I will learn more about myself as I improve.’ Ozul started contemplating while listening to Dibly’s explanation.

“How did the bodies disappear?” Ozul asked after thinking for a while. He still remembered how his father’s men took out things from thin air.

“Oh, that! Boss Razor has a spatial ring that can store things inside it. It’s a bit expensive, so not every one of us has it. Besides, we don’t require so many spatial rings.” – Dibly

Ozul just nodded as he had no more questions.

“Hey, hey! That blade you used was so cool! At least tell me the spells name!” – Dibly wanted to ask this question for quite a while now.

“Name? Hmm... It’s ‘Ball of Purity’...” Ozul thought for a while before just giving out a name that first came into his mind.

Dibly was confused about why a flying blade was named Ball Of Purity but did not ask any further.

Like this, they continued their journey. . .
