Lukas was actually surprised that after all this time, the VR System seemed to insist as if he was still in some kind of Visual Sim Date game.
That seemed like an important thing, the classification and perspective on how the world ran–but there was something else that mattered to him more.
It was the abilities and skills that he managed to obtain during his time.

Lukas wanted to believe that this was the same Skill that Chaerin had, or if it wasn't that–it was a Skill that he could upgrade and turn into something like Chaerin's or even Serena's who could transform into beasts.
It was hard to practice changing one's appearance when you were surrounded by a lot of people who could tell if your eye changed shape or color, so Lukas mostly focused on honing the skill when everyone was asleep and in discreet body parts.
Right now, Lukas focused on his hand and specifically his fingernails.
It was easy to do the cosmetic change of turning his clean nails and turning them into a dark hue–as if he had applied some nail polish.
Lukas bit back a little chuckle and tried not to shake his head.
That was the first step, but soon he concentrated hard and watched his fingernails lengthen and sharpen, almost turning into something feral and claw-like.
Somebody suddenly shifted in the van, letting out a small sound and Lukas quickly reverted his hand into normal.
While Lukas didn't have the chance to change every part of his body into someone completely new like Chaerin did–he was confident that he at least got the more beast-like traits captured.
'Chaerin uses her skill for more subtle tasks like pretending to be someone else… and stalking in the past, but my application for this Skill is for offensive purposes. If she chooses to, she probably has a greater grasp and finesse for this, but she just hasn't considered it at all.'
Truth be told, it did take a certain level of mental strength to do such a thing like this, and watching yourself partially transform your hand into something like a feral beast might have disturbed some.
Fortunately for Lukas, he was more or less looking at it as if it was some game.
But this wasn't all that Lukas had improved upon in the past weeks of traveling in the van.

"Why aren't you sleeping yet, Lukas? Are we going to skip training tonight?" Rhea appeared out of the thin air and floated in the middle of the van.
The Dream Eater had the ability to hide her presence even from him, although Lukas always had a faint connection to her.
It was almost impressive that his Charm Resistance Skill reached a great level even when he only encountered the Dream Eater. Maybe it was because he was a Vampire that he was able to gain a natural deterrent against other charm-performing species.
Maybe it was something else?
Lukas wasn't sure, but having the presence of the Dream Eater was a great boon.
He nearly forgot it before, but Rhea's mention of butterfly's association with the Fae and then Vulpine mentioning about butterfly dust on him made him realize that even if the Dream Eater hadn't encountered the Fae–it didn't mean that they weren't there.
"Lukas?"
'Ah, I have something in my mind. Sorry about that.'
"Well, you can tell me if you want." Rhea frowned slightly and crossed her arms. "It's something you can't even tell your girlfriend huh? Must be really serious. Then again, you also keep a lot of secrets from her."
Lukas shot her a narrowed eye look which made the Dream Eater gulp. He hadn't exactly spoken about it with Rhea or even Drusilla yet, because he wasn't sure on how they'd react.
But after seeing the butterfly sigil and it being present in the EULA, it was easy to surmise on what had happened.
"Something like Demons with contracts." Lukas muttered quietly.
"Demons?" Rhea blinked and looked at him slightly alarmed.
Lukas resisted the urge to roll his eyes, before motioning to Rhea's chest where the Blood Bond remained visible.
It seemed like a big deal, but it wasn't like other races hadn't ways of ensuring that the people they've made pacts with stuck to the end of their bargains.
As for the reason why the 'Fae' were involved in the first place was something that needed to be discovered, but at the moment, Lukas didn't find the 'System' as entirely restrictive.
If not a little more absent than he'd like, it was still useful.
"Wow, what a nice thing to bring up now." Rhea said.
'Well, do you revile me for it?' Lukas raised his brows. He never actually asked this before, and had only chosen it for his own benefit… but that didn't mean that he was completely heartless.
Or ignorant of how she felt.
"I understand why you chose to do it." Rhea frowned. "But that doesn't mean I'm entirely happy with it."
'No one is ever completely happy.' Lukas acknowledged with a tired grin.
"You're a lot happier about this at least."
It made him think about the System.
His own bond with both Drusilla and Rhea were not completely benevolent, there was still someone who gained more out of it than the other.
Now what did that say about his situation?
