Chapter 211 Dangers In The Dark (2)

"…What do you think you're doing? You should be running now instead of attempting to do something that you can't do! It won't be enough! It cannot be enough!"

Drusilla was in her blood world as always.

She tried to reach out past the place that she was, extending her fingertips—trying to split the world and tear it into two with no avail.

She screamed but her voice reached no one's ears.

No. That was inaccurate.

Her voice reached out into a great distance, far more than she could have possibly dreamed of, but it did not reach the person that she wanted to hear.

"This is insanity." Drusilla vexed as she searched across the blood world and finally saw the blue shimmering light that concentrated on her. "—that Dryad had been a fluke. He could have died, would have died—I could not control her blood, and neither would he… and this is not something delving into the dream's of that… thing could fix. Think for yourselves if this is truly what you want—hah."

Drusilla couldn't believe it. She… the one who was before the Sanguise House was trying to protect and shield someone who had her contained in this dagger.

"Of course, I understand the whims of those above me. In another time, I would have also liked to witness it myself—to be so above it all that you reach out to anything to alleviate your boredom, playing on the lives of the lesser and the weak. It's the right of the strong."

Drusilla understood it well, would have liked to employed the same concept as well but it didn't change the pounding in her chest and the roar of blood in her ears.

The blood of sea around her was a torrent of waves—but it did not move, even once.

Everything was so still.

Concentrate.

Lukas didn't move an inch, he held his breath—and then took one in as he stared at the small pool of blood in his hands. He willed it to move, and for what seemed like a moment, it did.

Moving into another direction, a small swish.

Something flashed within the edge of his vision.

"Nonono, not that. I don't need to learn—well, I'd like to learn it, but not right now." Lukas cursed himself. He had seen Viktoria Cadis use telekinesis well and knew that it was useful, but learning telekinesis to wield against a Blood of Nightmare and then the unknown entity was not something that would work out well for him.

'Does the thing even have blood? It's strong and powerful enough to corrupt trees, creatures and other things. Even if I learn the Blood Arts from Stacy right now or the replica of the grimoire, I can't help but feel like it won't amount to anything—but if I just start complaining, then we'll really just die and don't survive.'

Lukas took a deep breath and started again.

"What is he doing?" Philip asked.

"Trying to get stronger, don't interrupt him." Matthew said.

"… hey, if you're not exactly from a specific noble bloodline, how do you learn all of these things? Why do you think you can learn them?" Anthony asked. "And um, is there any chance that it's something that we can learn as well?"

"Landel, we've already took the Strength Assessment Test before, you know how exactly strong we are and how we fare among those things. Special abilities like this one are beyond our capacity, so forget about it." Philip said.

Lukas halted in his tracks and glanced at the two Vampires. He had never shared his blood with anyone beyond Lily, Chaerin and Rhea.

It was something that he didn't do because it felt like it was something you shared with the people who you were most intimate with—excluding Rhea though.

'But in effect, they did get stronger. Chaerin's and Lily's abilities improved… and well, Rhea kinda turned into that thing. As far as I'm aware, Chaerin and Lily didn't turn into monsters, and it's probably got to do with the fact that they're already Vampires beforehand, so if I were to actually think about it?'

"Why'd you stop, Lukas?" Matthew asked curiously. "I saw the blood move and this time it was when you were extra still."

"That… that was telekinesis, not controlling blood." Lukas said as he pulled down his cloak's hood and glanced at the three of them.

"Telekinesis too? Really?" Anthony gawked. "That's like—all of the gifts. Practically all of the gifts for noble bloodlines. You know that you're good at persuasion too, right Lukas? Maybe you're some kind of Vampire from an old bloodline that we don't know about?"

"How'd someone like you just wander in here like that. This doesn't make any sort of sense." Philip frowned. "Where did you come from?"

"Come now, we shouldn't interrogate the guy and make him feel uncomfortable." Anthony said.

"Oh, because he's our best chance of making it out here alive? Yes, I'm aware of that, Landel." Philip sighed. "Doesn't mean that I get to be happy about it or anything. Nothing is adding up."

'Probably. Philip's right, it doesn't make sense, but that's just how things are with me.' Lukas thought. He was not the same Lukas with the crescent birthmark, fooled Serena with it though.

"Shouldn't matter though—uh, how does any of you feel with drinking my blood?" Lukas asked, concentrating back on the present.

He was still going to try to learn how to control blood, but he also wanted to give others a chance to survive more.

"… You're asking us to just slurp it up from your hand?" Philip scrunched up his nose and turned to Anthony. "You hear that, Anthony? Are you willing to lap up his blood like some lycan?"

"I mean, that's a little weird… Lukas." Anthony scratched his cheek. "We really just met, and I wouldn't even do it for Philip here."

"Please stop insinuating terrible things."

Lukas sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.

"I didn't mean anything with it—except for the fact that it could help you guys grow stronger. That's it, but it's fine if nobody wants to do it."
