Chapter 184 - Preparig For The Near Future
Chapter 184 - Preparig For The Near Future
-----
Preparing for what was yet to come…
What… was yet to come?
What was something that even God feared?
What kind of mighty foe was approaching this world at a slow pace… that could actually threaten it as a whole?
Noah knew a bit about them.
He knew that they saw this world as a mere material to harvest, a ripe fruit from a tree they found in the road.
Their goal was simple, they didn't even care about the world's surface, they desired what was deep within the planet's tectonic plates.
The Earth's Core.
"Watchers?" asked Iris.
"Earth's… Core?" asked Arthur.
"What? This… This entire world is a mere material to be harvested?" asked Timassa.
The truth about what lied beyond the skies was an immense universe filled with life and threats everywhere.
A large organization of intergalactic entities known as the Watchers had set their sight on Earth and desired to extract its strong and ripening Core, the Origin Core.
"After eating a part of God, I naturally acquired a part of its fragmented memories, of the information it knew about, and more… And the existence of the Watchers was revealed to me, alongside the Mana Crystal Meteors that approached Earth at a fast pace… In fact, some of them had already fallen over the surface…" said Noah.
"Noah-sama, you have indeed learned a lot…" said Arthur.
"More than you could imagine. For starters, the Watchers are entities that live in between the world's Spatial Walls, walls that separated worlds through space. They traversed through them and the many galaxies in between. They are a tyrannic organization of aliens who had attained immense amounts of strength and had advanced into greater Existence Ranks," said Noah.
"So aside from the threat of Gates and Mutated Beasts… there are these aliens?" asked Clementina.
"So aliens exist… Wait, it was obvious seeing the Gates and the monsters…" sighed Arthur.
"The Watchers want to extract the world's core?" asked Jon.
"Indeed. You know what will happen if they do, right? It will simply be the end. The world will collapse and fall into countless pieces, floating through space… all types of life would disappear, and nothing else would remain," said Noah.
"Then… aren't we like ants against entities that can easily destroy the planet?" asked Timassa.
"Ants? We are mere bacteria compared to them. Not even comparable to their might. We are nothing, absolutely nothing," sighed Noah.
As Noah dropped those words, everyone else became paralyzed in fear.
Hearing their own progenitor, the figure they thought was strong, reliable, and the most trusted say that they were hopeless against such entities made them realize how little they were in the great scheme of things.
Was there any point in resisting then? Was there any point at all?
Shouldn't they give up and die then?
Hopeless like an ant, dying squashed by the human's feet.
An ant had not the power to fight against a human, it could bite it, but that bite would not do anything other than cause a slight annoyance, right before being squashed anyways.
Although ants could take down large pretty together, against the might of a titanic being such as a human, even if they were countless ones, humans could still destroy them.
Similarly to them, they were like ants against a titan, the Watchers.
"Is there even any hope then? What will we do?" asked Arthur.
Noah had said things as if there was no hope, but he never actually said that things were hopeless.
"I never said that there was no hope. Hope is the thing that you never lose. No matter the odds, no matter the circumstances, Arthur. You tightly grab hope with all your fangs and claws, pierce it with them and never leave it to go. Hope is the thing that moves us against all odds, is our greatest strength. You never lose hope. And if any of you dare lose hope, I am going to shove it into you until you regain it," said Noah with a sharp look, all of his subordinates, however, didn't felt intimidated but smiled warmly.
Noah was trying to cheer them up, he didn't want to see them hopeless.
Because he knew that there was hope.
"Indeed. We cannot lose hope, everyone… As long as we stick together, there is always hope, no matter what," said Iris while tightly holding Noah's hand.
"You are right… There is always hope." Said Timassa while nodding.
"If we are together, we can always fight against the odds. In numbers there is strength," said Jon.
"As we had done before… we can go through this as well…" said Clementina.
"Hope!" said Adamantine.
Arthur saw everyone else agree with Noah… as he clenched his fists.
"Yeah, I shouldn't have even doubted. I apologize. Hope is not something I will let anyone take away from me… Very well, Noah, what do you have in mind?" asked Arthur, his eyes filled with resolve.
"I said that there we stood no chance against them as we were currently. However, I had already accumulated a lot of sealed power. We have to simply keep growing stronger until I can unlock all of it, and even then, keep going even further beyond. The sky is not the limit, with the memories I acquired, there are many places where we can extract large amounts of power and grow stronger. We will make this world our treasure trove and absorb all the power we possibly can from it… If things are still impossible even after that… we will escape," said Noah.
"So you even had a plan B… leaving Earth? And to where? Space?" asked Timassa.
"Space would be too difficult, we need a place where we will be able to keep forging ourselves. I believe that whenever I can accumulate enough power, the door to Abyss will sooner or later open once more. And then, we will be able to go there. However, this will be our last resort. And I still require more power to even achieve such a feat," said Noah.
"To Abyss… the world of the Blood Progenitor?" asked Iris.
The Blood Progenitor suddenly emerged at Noah's side like a crimson ghost, startling everyone a little.
"Indeed. My world is vast and filled with dangers at every corner. You need to grow as strong as possible in here before you can even fathom standing a chance against the threats that lay beyond the horizon of your world. Abyss is an unwelcoming and chaotic world, where only the strongest survive and the weak are crushed and torn apart into pieces, only to be eaten by the critters that crawl beneath our feet. You may think that Earth is a chaotic place, but compared to Abyss, this world seems like a playground for the young…" said the Blood Progenitor.
"He can show up like that now…?" asked Arthur.
"Sadly, he can," said Noah.
"Nonetheless. It is as he says, we have to grab every possible opportunity to grow stronger here," said Iris.
"Indeed…" said Timassa.
"And I mean not just killing random beasts around the world. I mean seeking ancient treasures and inheritances. Alongside making of the strongest Hunters and their Guilds our servants…" said Noah.
"Like we did with the Crystal Family?" asked Clementina.
"Indeed. Your family, the Silvercrown Family should be next, Clementina. Rejoice, you might be able to finally avenge your mother," said Noah with a smile.
"Oh? I am eager for that moment, my lord…" said Clementina.
