Chapter 225 - Entering The S-Rank Dungeon! A World Of... Poison?
-----
Now that Noah had acquired such a large amount of useful Spells/Skills, he was ready to delve into the dangerous S-Rank Dungeon!
The cameras glanced at Noah and his main party, as everyone began to slowly walk to one of the S-Rank Dungeons, the biggest one, with the darkest color, black.
And of course, the gate that looked the most dangerous, emanating large quantities of energy and mana, thick enough to make most normal people have shivers run through their spines, some people were even having problems breathing near such a gate, as it exuded a strange and acidic smell.
Whatever world there was within that Gate, it was certainly not welcoming of humans…
However, the Noctem Family and their Guild Leader were glancing at the black-colored gate with smiles, their eyes gleaming with resolve.
The people around glanced at such eyes and expressions with surprise, many beginning to understand how pathetic they were compared to such mighty people…
Just what kind of mentalities made them look at the face of danger with such expressions?
"Now, let's go," said Noah, guiding his people with him, as he stepped head-first into the dangerous black gate, an S-Rank Gate that led to one of the most dangerous Dungeons within all the S-Rank Gates present at the moment!
As everyone entered, the people around glanced with surprise and expectation as they saw their bodies disappear into the spatial distortions.
"There they go…"
"Will they come back?"
"I honestly don't know… I doubt it,"
"What? They just completed a Dungeon earlier, what makes you think they won't now?"
"It's… an S-Rank Dungeon after all…"
"They might have outstanding growth but… Perhaps they are getting too ahead of themselves, don't you think?"
"That's…"
"But the Noctem Family Guild is the guild that will bring us glory! They are doing so much for our Sector and you're talking shit about them?!"
"Oi, calm down!"
The people had varying opinions, but the only way to show them that what Noah said was right was by simply… doing what he said.
And so he will.
Noah's eyes opened as he sensed the many spatial layers around him twist around.
Space and time warped constantly, blinding his sight until he suddenly stepped into an alien world through the Gate.
Every Gate led to a Dungeon, but every Dungeon was, for lack of a better term, an alien world filled with endemic life which was trapped within a space-time distortion that was named Dungeon.
Such space-time distortions actually didn't give dropped items or cores, but the System that everyone carried with them was what converted the residual energy of slain monsters into items of all sorts.
This was why monsters exploded into black smoke, as their entire bodies were transmuted as energy into the System, and a residual part of it would materialize into items, from Dropped Items, Potions, Elixirs, Equipment, Soul Weapons, Ability Cores, and Attribute Value Cores.
Noah stepped once more into such an alien world, a strange one at that.
The first thing he noticed was that he was falling.
"What?"
He glanced down below as he saw an enormous sea… of boiling and purple-colored slimy liquid, releasing sickly, green-colored gases everywhere, it had an acidic smell, which made Noah feel as if his lungs were melting by just breathing it.
He quickly stopped falling using Flight, floating in midair as he glanced around.
The Gate seemed to be located above an immense lake of what Noah could only think to be… poison.
Meanwhile, around the lake there was green-colored dirt and gigantic, alien-like trees resembling a jungle surrounding it, each tree had purple-colored bark, and their leaves varied from pink, purple, and red. Some of these trees had large eyes… glaring at Noah without blinking.
As he glanced at the sky, it was green and cloudy. The clouds were made of the gases produced by the poisonous lake, and it seemed that the Dungeon's spatial walls ended just a few more meters above the Gate, Noah also noticed that they ended right in the shore to the jungle… meaning that the whole dungeon was above this poisonous lake.
No one that wasn't capable of flying would immediately fall to their demise, as the Gate was located right above this lake.
It was… ridiculous.
This was just the ridiculousness of S-Rank Dungeons.
Through analyzing everything, Noah only spent a blink of an eye, as everyone else finally came out of the Gate ad began to fall.
Noah quickly made up a net with Blood Dominion, for the ones that were not quick enough to activate their flying skill, which was actually just Adamantine.
"W-Woah, this is… a giant poison lake?!" asked Timassa.
"And the dungeon is just this, the spatial walls won't let us go into the shore nor the rest of the jungle… How amusing," said Noah.
"To think that anyone incapable of flying would simply fall to their demise like this… The poison lake looks deadly… It is literally boiling…" said Iris, glaring down below.
"And this acidic air… Ungh… My very lungs are constantly melting and regenerating, what an annoying feeling," said Clementina.
"Ah, I feel at home here for some reason…" said Arthur, feeling rather clear-minded in such a place, none of the effects of the acidic poison were affecting him, and in fact, he felt quite well.
"Well, of course, you're a Poison user, and your body is also part poison, you're the fittest in here. Due to that, you will work twice as hard," said Noah.
"Eh?! …Well, okay," said Arthur.
"This place is a bit uncomfortable… Maybe a bit more than the Fire Wyrms Dungeon, but we can regenerate quickly so it doesn't matter," said Jon nonchalantly.
"Sorry… I almost fell to the big purple pool…" said Adamantine, flying right in between Iris and Noah.
"Good thing I made the net… Anyways, it does seem that there is company…" said Noah, as the group was flying straight over the large lake.
"Indeed. Five… No, ten… Wait, twenty, yes, twenty creatures the size of around thirty to forty meters are coming," said Jon, his eyes flashing with deep crimson-red light.
"Already?" asked Timassa, as the lake of poison down below began to tremble, several long figures surged from them!
SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH!
"Eels…?! And such pressure…!" said Iris.
The Vampire Party glanced at the creatures that seemingly lived in this boiling pool of poison, enormous eels!
They had large jaws that opened wide, having razor-sharp fangs, hundreds of tiny yellow-colored eyes atop their heads which looked grotesque, and their long and slim bodies were covered in purple-colored scales which Noah noticed to have a metallic luster to them.
The monstrous beings also possessed several slimy tentacles below their jaws, moving monstrously.
"GGRRYYAARRRRR!"
And down below, Noah immediately noticed giant angler-fish like monsters swimming around, they were similar to the eels, but were not long, and had large jaws that expanded even wider, they seemed to be waiting for someone to fall so they could catch it like a net and eat them.
"Everyone, brace yourselves!" said Noah, as he decided to summon his army of Blood Servants, which all were able to naturally float in midair due to their phantasmal properties.
"GRRYYAARRR!"
The giant eels roared, rushing towards Noah's party!
