Chapter 88 - What An Intense Battle...
-----
Iris, Adamantine, and Timassa ruthlessly annihilated yet another Giant Sand Worm in the small opening they got when all of the creatures targeted Noah, making their body blow into pieces!
BOOM!
Noticing the death of yet another member, the other Giant Sand Worms roared, as one of the biggest ones suddenly opened its mouth and gathered large quantities of purple liquid!
Everyone noticed that something wrong was going on, as the Giant Sand Worm suddenly spit the large sphere of poison not towards Noah and his group, but the sky!
Splash!
And in a second, a rain of acidic poison began to shower everyone!
The Giant Sand Worms were unaffected by it thanks to their natural immunity and chitinous exoskeletons, but the rest of the party had to quickly take cover!
If it were very simple poison it wouldn't be an issue as their bodies as Vampiric beings and their fast regeneration made them very resistant to toxins… however, the poison was also very acidic, to the point of dissolving living matter when it touched it!
Noah noticed that his subordinates were in danger, but he saw them all quickly take shelter into shields and barriers made by Arthur, as Noah simply showered himself in the acid-like nothing, his regeneration kicking in instantly, regenerating the deep and deadly wounds over and over again!
Taking this opportunity where the Giant Sand Worms thought to have made a big hit on their enemy's group, Noah decided to fly towards the biggest Giant Sand Worm of the bunch, using his wings that constantly were torn apart and then regenerated back alongside Crimson Flash, reaching the Giant Sand Worm who he cataloged as a leader instantly!
FLASH!
"GROWL!"
The Giant Sand Worm did not take Noah's appearance lightly, roaring angrily as it tried to devour him with one singly bite, rushing with its enormous body towards him at incredible speeds!
However, Noah evaded it with Crimson Flash coupled with Mist Form, evading the deadly razor-sharp fangs of the beast as he pointed his claws towards its eyes, covering his body with armor and shaping the armor around his claws, making the theme extra resilient!
"Now's my turn," said Noah, his claws sliced through the creature's flesh, taking away pieces of its exoskeleton and spreading poisoned and cursed blood all over the wounds!
Activating Blood Combustion, Noah began to make the Giant Sand Worm explode into bits from all sides of its body, the creature agonized, roaring loudly, as it tried to blast Noah away with a giant sphere of acid, forming within its maws!
Flash!
Noah evaded in time, just in time for the Giant Sand Worm's tail to hit him like an immense and incredibly heavy whip!
BOOM!
"Unghh…!"
Noah did not manage to use Mist Form in time, as he felt his bones break apart… this was the strength of a D-Rank Monster!
If he were a normal hunter, he would be done for at this moment!
However, he was Vampire!
There was nothing normal, nothing at all with such a being!
Noah simply smiled with excitement, as his bones broke apart and tore through his flesh and skin, only for them to immediately go back to their original positions and regenerate!
This was the amazing power of Immortal Body!
He didn't even need to drink blood anymore to trigger this powerful regeneration effect, and Noah went right back to action, grabbing, flashing towards the monster's tail with Crimson Flash and his Vampiric Wings, and then beginning to slice through the beast' tail up to its head, where it unleashed dozens of blood weapons!
Slash! Slash! Slash! SLASH!
The Giant Sand Worm was overwhelmed, groaning, and asking for the help of its allies, only for it to find out that they were being dispatched by Noah's allies!
The Giant Sand Worm's crimson eyes glared at Noah with hate, as the creature exerted the last bit of strength it could, moving towards Noah's body and biting it while he was slicing through its long body!
CRUNCH!
However, Noah simply detached his torso out of its own legs and an enormous part of his stomach like nothing, flying up into the sky as his intestines fell off his upper body, the Giant Sand Worm glanced at this with horror, on its small and inferior mind, it could not comprehend how this small creature could still live after having half of its body eaten!
"Enjoying your last meal?" asked Noah, as he made the part of his body explode inside of the Giant Sand Worm's mouth!
BOOM!
"GROOOOWL…!"
The Giant Sand Worm Leader gave away its last cry of agony, as its head was blown off into bits and the rest of the body dissipated into black smoke.
Within these seconds, Noah's legs had grown back, and he employed his blood manipulation over his skin, manipulating its components and texture, and then coagulating it into pants!
The resto the clothes that were left were made of a self-repairing material, which slowly began to cover his pants and fused with the blood, recovering his usual body attire, although it seemed that absorbing his blood seemed to change his clothes nature, however, Noah didn't have time to see his clothes evolve or whatever, as he joined back with Arthur and the rest, killing the last Giant Sand Worm.
The party then rested above the ground for a few minutes, gasping for air.
"That was intense!" said Arthur, taking out a cold green tea bottle from his Dimensional Storage Ring and drinking until it was almost completely empty.
Noah took a few bottles of cold flavored tea and gave one to everyone else, as the Vampiric family calmed down their thirst and exhaustion with some cold drinks.
"Indeed it was… phew… Fighting with one giant monster was already a handful, but many at the same time… this is… truly quite tiring…" sighed Timassa.
"But we did it… Hm… black clothes are not so good below the sun…" sighed Jon.
"Hungry!" said Adamantine.
"Thanks, Noah, you gave me the flavor I like too! Uwah, we are really like boyfriends now…" said Iris while blushing.
"I don't know your favorite flavor, I think that was just coincidence…" said Noah.
"Hehe, I know you like to pretend you don't know…" said Iris.
Noah sighed internally as he let her be, grabbing a large piece of the meat left as dropped items by the Giant Sand Worm and giving it to Adamantine.
"You can eat this," he said.
"Hmm!" said Adamantine, licking her lips as she began to eat the slimy piece of flesh.
"Ah! But that's a material that would cost around 30.000 Credits!" said Arthur.
"There are plenty Arthur, you don't have to worry so much," said Noah.
"O-Okay… If that is what you think, Noah-sama…" sighed Arthur.
Usually, within Dungeons, after a large group of monsters was killed, there would be a small window of time before a larger group would emerge, the Vampire used this window of time to get as much food and drinks as possible before beginning yet another fighting session.
"We got a nice amount of Cores… usually, Hunters would be barely capable of killing one of these through an entire day and on an immense group of people, but we did it on our own and not only one but many…" said Arthur, glancing at the large Attribute Value Cores and Ability Cores.
"This is because of our endurance and strength, despite being D-Rank, we might be several times stronger than a conventional D-Rank Hunter, and perhaps more than those Talented… I believe that we might rival C-Rank in strength, perhaps… initial C-Rank at most," said Noah while eating a sandwich to stockpile calories that he used for his body-boosting Skills and to naturally generate more blood.
"And if we keep working together, we can do even more. I believe that as we train our coordination, we will become even better than most D-Rank Hunter Parties… Thanks to our connection to Noah, we can coordinate better without interruptions, and even feel if any of us goes through danger to cover them," said Iris.
"That's right, at that moment when I panicked a bit… you sensed my fear and came right to help me… S-Sorry for being so useless… I am trying my best to adapt to this lifestyle…" sighed Arthur.
"It is fine. We are all naturally flawed. As long as you notice those mistakes and do everything you can to not commit them again, I am fine with it. However, I hope this does not repeat, or I might as well let you be eaten alive…" said Noah rather intimidatingly.
"S-Sure thing! I will do my best!" said Arthur a bit scared, it seems that Noah's tactic of scaring him to be more diligent worked.
