Chapter 311 Understanding Parents
Chapter 311 Understanding Parents
-----
"Invoker?" My father asked in shock.
"Invoker… that sounds from somewhere." My grandma said.
"Wait, that's a Talent?! And you got it just now?" My mother wondered.
"Yes… Come out, Fenrir." I said, as the card I had suddenly turned into bright light which flew into the floor.
FLASH!
A wolf emerged out of this light, waving his tail playfully.
"As you can see, I can summon this wolf I named Fenrir. I usually can summon a single type of creature several times… So they're all practically clones." I said while nodding. "I am sorry for not explaining things to you properly. I was just… afraid you wouldn't understand them, and that you would think I am strange or weird."
"Oh, no… We would never think that of you…!" My mother said.
"Yeah, as parents, we were super worried about what you were hiding from us, that's all… If you clear things up for us, we are good. What makes you think we'll hate you or find you weird, son?" My father asked.
"You're someone precious to us all, dear Blake. Without you, we wouldn't be living such a peaceful life… We simply wanted to know more about you and what you were hiding, we were worried…" My grandmother said.
"I see… I am sorry about not telling you earlier. I suppose I should had trusted you from the beginning… I just have trust issues, but I suppose I should have considered that you are… my family after all." I sighed.
"Of course dear… Now, can you tell us how you got a talent or did it just happen?" Asked my mother.
"Well… After I completed ten trials, I reached a progression wall, but one night, I had prophetic dream. The voice of what I assume were the Holy Spirits whispered to me telling me that my true Talent would awaken and my limits would be broken alongside that… That morning, the Grimoire shone brightly, and it suddenly showed I had obtained new Skills and the Invoker Talent." I said, combining lies with truth.
"Incredible…" My father said.
"S-So that how it is…" My mother sighed.
"B-Blake, you've spoken with the Holy Spirits?" Asked my grandmother.
"Not really, I've only received some of their words, which sometimes takes me a while to decipher…" I sighed.
"I see… But there's something I remember… Ah! Invokers do exist, they're actually… incredibly rare though! The last Invoker that existed in the world was one of the heroes that sealed the Demonic Towers alongside the others in the past. Do you two remember the tale of the Summoner Allen?" Asked my grandmother.
"Oh right!" My father said. "We never told you about that one I guess…" My father sighed.
"Summoner Allen?" I asked.
"He was an ancient Summoner that appeared in the past, said to have the power to summon an army of powerful monsters to his service. It was said he once started like you, as a serf in a very poor village. Alongside the Sword Hero Krena, the Axe Hero Dogora, and the Sage Cecil, alongside various other heroes, they sealed the Demonic Towers, freeing the world from the demons that had invaded the entire world by then… It was said that it was thanks to his near endless army of beasts that humanity was able to survive. In that time, over thousands of years ago, was also when people began to be born with spirits. They said that Hero Allen shared all his summons with people as he wanted humanity to grow stronger." My mother said.
"What?! You never told me something so essential!" I sighed.
"Well that story nowadays is not so popular." My father said. "Everyone say it is just made up and not real. Some say Spirits and Spirit Orbs have existed even before Hero Allen was born, so it causes a lot of disputes between the more religious people of the Holy Spirits church. Don't go around telling this tale if possible."
"I see… I suppose it would indeed cause controversy if a story about the origin of the spirits that is not directly related to the Holy Spirits is suddenly spread, atheism is a thing after all." I said, analyzing the situation.
"But… if you're truly an Invoker like Hero Allen once was, then you indeed might be the one chosen by the Holy Spirits." Said my grandmother. "Invokers are the rarest Talent in the world, and also the strongest, it is said that they can eventually awaken into Summoners and even… Grand Summoners! Although it is said that Hero Allen was something even beyond that."
"So that's how it is…"
Perhaps Summoner and Grand Summoner are my next Class Change Options whenever I reach Level 30… Though, there were also other Talents. I wonder if I can just take them later while I take other Talents in between. I'll have to see when the time comes.
"For now, it would be better if we keep this a secret, if we make it public right now… It will only bring us a lot of problems. Even greedy people might show up." My mother said. She was always the most intelligent of the two of my parents.
"Yes, I am with Mary there." My grandma said.
"I suppose… Damn it, I really wanted to brag about it with my friends, but I suppose you're right." My father sighed.
"Thanks for understanding, this was one of my major problems. It is inevitable that my powers will be eventually known. But at the very least, I want this to happen when I am already in the Academy and I've grown strong enough… There's still some time for that to happen, so I'll try to keep hunting monsters in the meantime." I said.
"Even more?! But you're just eight years old…" My mother complained.
"Don't worry, I haven't gone there personally much." I said with a smirk.
"Eh? R-Right! You can just order your summons to do it… Wow, that's really smart." My father said, as my mother and my grandmother seemed more relieved.
I suppose that with this, my explanations with my parents finally came to an end.
