Chapter 687 Hiiro, Tlaloc, And Mu-Nyang’s Past

Chapter 687 – Hiiro, Tlaloc, and Mu-Nyang's Past

After Mir's death, Miaomiao shut himself in the radar control room, focusing on cultivating and managing his territory at the same time.

There, Miaomiao could build new buildings without going around and surveying the land. The control room was also quiet, which was suitable for seclusion.

For the rest of the day, Miaomiao stayed there, grumbling and self-loathing about his previous mistake.

Joshua picked up the orb that Houtu left behind. He inspected it and discovered a prisoner inside.

Unfortunately, the item belonged to an unrestrained sage. A deity like him couldn't use it or free the prisoner.

As Joshua was powerless, he brought it to Tlaloc, hoping to request his assistance. He and the archangel team visited the Chaos Demon God's head.

Tlaloc's cave was one of the biggest Divine Qi mines, in which green gas was thrice as thick as the other gas caves. When everyone stood in front of the cave, everybody felt like they were confronting an unrestrained sage.

Joshua mustered his courage and cupped his fist.

"This junior, Joshua, seeks advice from senior Demon God."

The others also mimicked Joshua. The archangels knelt and cupped their fists, declaring that they were seeking an audience from Tlaloc.

No response came out from the cave for a while. Fortunately, Tlaloc didn't let Joshua wait long.

"Only Joshua may enter. The other war droids can wait outside."

Joshua was surprised. He had thought that Metatron, Michael, or Uriel would be invited first since they were the strongest among the group, but Tlaloc called him instead.

Although reluctant, Joshua entered the cave.

The green gas cave was a simple tunnel with no branch. As it had not been developed, the path was bumpy and rocky.

It didn't take long for Joshua to find the Chaos Demon God. At the depth of the cave, the faceless demon god had been sitting in a green boiling pool, which was the source of the Divine Qi.

Joshua knelt in front of the pool and paid respect to the demon god. He stated his business.

"I've come here to make a report, senior."

"Speak."

Joshua took a deep breath, but he regretted it. He choked and coughed as the Divine Qi in the cave gave him too many strands of Connate Qi. He spat out all green gas to stabilize his dantian before he could continue speaking.

"One of our unrestrained sages has fallen, senior."

Tlaloc raised his head and stayed quiet for a moment. He then sighed.

"I can tell. That cat is dead. What else?"

Anger swelled in Joshua's heart. One of their strongest allies was killed, but Tlaloc didn't care about her. He swallowed his pride and frustration before he made another report.

"The Cathulhus are heavily injured, and nobody is guarding the portal."

"Ah, how bad are they?"

"Physically, they're fine. But mentally, their morale is at the lowest."

"So, you want me to guard the portal in their stead?"

"Y-Yes, if you could-"

"No."

Joshua was taken aback. He widened his eyes, "B-But why?! We don't have any capable ally that can withstand another unrestrained sage's attack now. We need you, senior!"

Tlaloc shook his head.

"You misunderstand me. Mao Miaomiao has already given me a task. From now on, I'll be responsible for the assault force, and the defensive duty will be left to Cathulhus and Adam. As for you guys, you can do whatever you want here until Mao Miaomiao changes his mind."

"But we don't have an unrestrained sage…"

"We have Orochi, no?"

"…"

"Again, leave the decision to Mao Miaomiao. He will do something about it soon."

"Yes, senior," Joshua was a bit disappointed. He thought that Tlaloc would become their guardian.

"What else do you want to tell me?"

Joshua coughed and resumed his business, "A-Ahem. Well, I assume that you have already detected the invaders. We have already defeated Hongjun's unrestrained sage, a sage, and a pseudo sage. Some of the pseudo sage's servants are now captives, and we can use them as sacrifices."

"Ah. That sacrificial thing? Leave the decision to Mao Miaomiao."

Joshua had the urge to exclaim [Again?]. Fortunately, he controlled his expression well and stopped uttering nonsense.

He moved on to the main agenda. Joshua brought out Houtu's orb, which had trapped a prisoner inside.

Tlaloc immediately stood up when he saw the orb.

"Where did you get this?" Tlaloc sounded angry and excited.

"We found this from the unrestrained sage that we had defeated. Do you know what it is?"

"How can I not know?!" Tlaloc burst into laughter. He picked up the orb and inspected it.

RUMBLE

? The wisp of his Providence Law and Connate Qi cleansed the Qi of Houtu. He took over the ownership of the artifact and gazed inside.

Then, he found Hiiro, who had been meditating and healing his injuries.

"Senior, what is that thing?" Joshua was curious. From the reaction of Tlaloc, it seemed to be a precious artifact for sages.

"This is one of Pangu's prototype demonic cages. He used to rely on these things and trap so many of my brethren in the past. Lord Mu-Nyang destroyed most of them during our first war, but a few still exist today. It can be used to capture any Great Dao Sage!"

"!!!"

"It's a pity that one orb can only capture one person. I'll need to eject this man out of the orb first."

Tlaloc continued to laugh as he ejected Hiiro out of the orb.

The player stumbled on the hard ground. He raised his head and looked around in confusion.

Upon seeing the faceless purple demon and a deity in a silver robe with the face of a famous prophet, Hiiro was stunned. He instinctively inhaled a mouthful of green gas into his lung and coughed.

DING

DING

Hiiro remembered this feeling. It was the toxic gas, which he had been cultivating when he was trapped under a refinery building.

Tlaloc didn't pay attention to Hiiro at first. He took a deep breath and was about to blow away Hiiro's existence and soul for good.

But when Tlaloc noticed a strange HP bar and Hiiro's golden name floating over the latter's head, he paused. Hiiro's existence and his aura signature reminded him of someone that Mu-Nyang always mentioned.

During the primordial age when Mu-Nyang was still a Chaos Seraphim, the soon-to-be cat god always mentioned an old friend in the ancient past when the Primordial Chaos Realm was still a little world with only mortals.

In the story, Mu-Nyang once had a faithful slave, who always gave him free food whenever he met the old man. With him around, Mu-Nyang never worried about being starving or searching for food.

Unfortunately, a mortal lived a short life. The old slave passed away after they had been living together for a decade.

After the old slave died, someone took Mu-Nyang to a new place. It was much wider and larger than the previous home, but Mu-Nyang was unhappy there. At that place, he had too many food competitors, and he didn't like it.

Years later, Mu-Nyang ran away from the new home and returned to his old place, where he had lived with the old slave. But as fate toyed with his life, Mu-Nyang ran into a human child, who had the similar air and scent as that old man.

The human child took Mu-Nyang with him and showed him to his mother. Then, they started living together.

But only two years later, Mu-Nyang ran out of lifespan. He grew sick, and he could no longer walk. His new slave, aka the child, was with him in his last moment.

The child's name was Xiaomao, which was the same name as the old slave that used to live together with Mu-Nyang. The boy cried while he read a fairy tale for his sick senior cat.

Mu-Nyang always remembered that fairy tale. It was an adventure story of a cat deity, who had dedicated his life to protecting his friends, family, and other cats from the cat-eating giants.

At one point in the story, Xiaomao told Mu-Nyang about heroes with a gold-named curse, who betrayed the cat-eating giants and fought alongside the cat god.

However, Mu-Nyang didn't remember the ending. He passed away in Xiaomao's arms. But when he came back to life again, he was already reincarnated as a Chaos Seraphim in the Primordial Chaos Realm, and the previous world had already been destroyed.

Tlaloc's sixth sense was tingling when he discovered Hiiro's golden name. Something deep inside warned Tlaloc not to harm this person!

The Chaos Demon God waved his hand, helping Hiiro up.

"Boy," the voice of Tlaloc was deeper than usual. "Are you a player?"

Hiiro gazed at Tlaloc in doubt. He slightly nodded.

"Are you here to kill us all? What are the purposes of you Players?"

Hearing the oddly realistic question from an NPC, Hiiro narrowed his eyes.

He knew that the game [Pangu Online 2] was the sequel to the previous game, which benefitted humanity and held the secrets of immortality. However, the realism of the game's A.I. was uncanny.

Hiiro's instinct told him that he should treat everybody here as real people, not a programmed NPC or A.I.

The player knelt on both knees. He mimicked a cultivator's manner.

"This junior is from planet Earth. We're here to test the stability of game servers, fix bugs, and adjust the game balance!"

"Game? Server?" Joshua and Tlaloc were stunned.

"Yes. Although this might offend you, please bear with me while I'm telling you what really happened."

Hiiro didn't hesitate to tell them everything about the real world and the game. He, too, wanted to see the reactions of the game's NPCs.

Divine Theocracy Earth

In the eastern part of the world was a metropolitan city of a major country. The technologies of this place were as advanced as the 21st century of the modern world.

Among the people in this world, a teenager rushed out of his house. He looked around in glee as if he had just been recently reincarnated or regressed to the past.

PUU

The young man loudly farted in public. Everybody frowned at him in disgust.

Even so, the teenager laughed.

"Sorry. It's okay. My fart is clean and healthy. You won't catch Covid from it, I swear!"

The young man hummed and danced while he rushed to a Buddhist temple's cemetery. He picked up a pregnant black cat without hesitation and got several scratches from her.

The high-school student abducted the stray mama cat and returned home. He tossed her inside his house and asked his mother.

"Ma! I've found a mama cat on the street, and her babies are coming out soon! I'm keeping the cat and the kitties, okay?"

"YOU WHAT?!"

"The mama cat is also sick. Please send it to a vet if you can, pretty please?"

"We're not keeping pets, you dipshit!"

"But it will die if we don't do something!"

"…"

The young man closed the door and left the cat in his mother's care. He laughed and went to school, but little did he know someone had been spying on him.

The invisible cat's eye in the sky curved up into a grin, but it was teary as if the owner was sentimental.

Mu-Nyang had fun watching his former slave taking care of his unborn backup body.

Nobody could hear Mu-Nyang's inner voice.

'I'll be back to you soon, Xiaomao. Oh, you're welcome for that little gift, munya! I'm sure we'll get along well like we used to. You also don't have to worry about your previous life's father here. I'm protecting Mao Miaomiao like how you had always been protecting me, munya.'
