Villain: The Play of Destiny

Chapter 252 252

Chapter 252 252

?

The Oscars were once the Underworld Overlords of the Mystich City, and even now, after decades of going clean, they still held a lot of control of the underground forces in the city.

Mathew had received a quest for Maira Valeca, the daughter who wanted to retrieve everything that her family had lost at the hands of their enemies. But unfortunately for her, her enemies were way too strong now.

He used his Family channels and looked into past matters, digging up information that even Maria was not aware of. And that was why he was here today.

Despite appearing quite rich, the reality was that her businesses were under heavy debt, and now, the people whom she owed were evilly smiling at her.

The middle-aged man whom she was talking to earlier was a representative of another major underground force, The Tiger's Den, and he was here today to offer her a deal his Boss was proposing.

Gendou, the Tiger Boss, wanted Maria. All she had to do was say yes to him, and their forces would merge. Dealing with those debtors would become much easier for her, and Gendou was even proposing to pay off most of her debts.

It was just that Gendou once used to be her father's right-hand man, and he was much older than her. He was over fifty years old, and though he was a Cultivator and looked only in his early forties, she was not keen on marrying him. Another reason why she did not want to do it was that she knew she would lose control after the merger, and she wanted to not end the organisation that her grandfather and father had tirelessly built.

"Gendou was involved in your father's murder, and so was the Alvarez Family. Your father made a mistake, and his men beat the wrong person. The person they beat was a child of the Alvarez Family, and so your father was made to pay the price for his transgression." Mathew calmly told her. "It was Gendou who shot your father in the head."

Even after all these years, she had not found out who was the person that pulled the trigger, but now she knew.

"What do you want?" She calmed herself down and asked.

"You."

"Your family already has a lot of power. You don't need my organisation." She narrowed her eyes at him.

"I told you. I want you." He smiled. "Become my woman." He calmly said as he picked up two dice from the side table and started toying with them in his hand. "Or if you are not convinced, we can roll the dice." He grinned.

Maria was a gambler. She loved making decisions over dice, and it was the information the System had told him.

"You know a lot about me. Don't you?"

"I want to know more." He smiled and looked right into her eyes.

"You will help me deal with Gendou, pay my debts, help me expand my business, and you will also help me deal with the Alvarez Family?" She mockingly smiled at him. "Who do you think you are, Heir Frost?"

Her words stiffened his smile, and in his mind, the image of a man appeared, who was undoubtedly better than him in terms of Power, Wealth, and even beauty.

Mathew knew that if it was Keith sitting here in front of her, she would have never questioned his ability.

"Do you think I would approach you if I was not confident in my ability?" He composed himself and asked.

"Maybe you approach me because your dick rules your mind, Heir Frost." She smiled. "Nonetheless, I guess you could help me deal with some of my issues, but giving myself to you is out of the question."

"I am not interested in anything else." He kept smiling, and it irked Maria. "How about we gamble? Hi-Lo. If I win, you are mine, and if I lose, I will give you 200 Million Neris, which will help you pay some of your debt."

"If I win, you will pay me 200 Million Neris, and fulfil one of my requests. And if you win, I will give you a chance to show me your sincerity and ability. If I am satisfied, I will be yours." She smiled at him.

"Thow in a kiss and we have a deal," Mathew smirked at her.

"Deal!" She agreed. "Five turns. Best of three wins. And I will roll the dice the first three times, and you will make the call."

"No problem." He shrugged as he rolled the dice and looked at the outcome before handing them over to her.

Maria immediately called the waiter and asked him to bring her a black cup she could use to roll the dice in.

"Ready?" She asked as she put the cup over the dice and started rolling them on the table.

"Yes." Mathew nodded his head as he kept his eyes on her, but his ears were keenly paying attention to the sound of the rolling dice.

"Call." She said after she was done rolling.

"High." The first call was a hit or miss, so Mathew did not care and answered right away.

Maria frowned and then lifted the cup, and her heart sank a little when she saw that it was a 4 and a 5, a total of 9.

"Let's roll again." Mathew chuckled and said, and the lady narrowed her eyes before starting to roll the dice again.

"Call."

"High." The second was an educated guess, and Mathew won again when the result came out as 4 and 4, a total of 8. "Continue." He playfully said as he knew that she had no room of winning now.

Maria was deeply frowning as she started rolling the dice again, and this time, she shook them up well and for a long time.

"Call." She solemnly asked.

"Low."

Taking a deep breath, she lifted the cup, and immense relief washed over her.

It was 2 and a 6, a total of 8, and she had won this time.

Her mood improved a lot when she lifted her eyes and caught Mathew looking at the dice in disbelief.

"Your turn." She handed him the cup and the dice, and the man soon recovered his smile.

Though he was still smiling, he was quite confused right now. It was the first time in the last three days that he had guessed it wrong on the third turn. He has not even guessed wrong on the fourth turn when he played it with his butler, Albert.

He had complete faith in his ability, and he was confused because he had heard the sound of two low numbers when Maria had stopped rolling.

Perhaps, he had made a mistake.

He shook his thoughts away and started rolling the dice.

There was no way he was going to lose when he rolls, and he knew what he had rolled when he stopped.

It was undoubtedly 3 and 1, but his heart tense up when Maria immediately called out "Low".

"Heh..." She brightly smirked when she saw the result and enjoyed the look of unease on Mathew's face. "Last round."

"Hmm." Mathew started rolling again and stopped after he was done. "Call."

Maria was frowning as she heard the sound of only one dice at the very last moment. But she was a gambler and immediately called out the number.

"High."

Mathew smiled when he heard her call and lifted the cup.

It turned out that both the dice were stacked on each other, and the number on top was a 2.

He knew what was under it. It was a 1, and he brightly smiled at her.

"Go ahead." He asked her before looking at the dice again, and his smile stuffed as he found the patterns different than they were supposed to be.

Maria carefully lifted the top dice, and soon her laughter sounded out, attracting the people sitting around her.

Mathew dumbly stared at the six, and a bead of sweat trickled down his forehead.

He was certain that it was supposed to be a 1. How the hell did the dice suddenly turn upside down?

Did he make a mistake again?

He questioned himself, but in the end, he only felt embarrassed by Maria's mocking smile.

"You lose, Mr. Frost."

"It is fine." He composed himself and smiled at her. "Give me an account number. The money will be immediately transferred to you."

Reluctantly, Mathew transferred the money to her, and then looked at her, patiently waiting to hear what her request was.

"You are rich and powerful, and since you have looked into my matters, you would know that after the death of my father, I lost my family home thirteen years ago."

"The one that Wellingtons own?" He frowned.

Wellingtons were a powerful Family in Mystich City, second only to Alvarez, and from the information he had received, the wife of the current head of the Wellington Family was quite fond of that Mansion.

"Yes." She smiled. "I want my home back."

Maria could see from his expression that it was not going to be easy. It was already something she considered near impossible. After all, she had tried to get it back multiple times, but the Wellingtons had not even listened to her offers.

"If you can get me my home back, I might still consider your offer." She suggestively said and stood up to leave.

Downstairs, Iseul, who had been listening to everything that transpired could not help her giggles.

She looked over at Keith and found him wearing a faint smile on his lips. It was the smile that was a reflection of his indifference towards everything.

"I wonder what his reaction would be when he learns that Wellingtons no longer own that Mansion." She playfully smiled when he met her eyes.

"We shall see." He got up and offered his hand to her. "Up for movies?"

"I love you, Senpai!" She excitedly jumped on her bare feet and then clung onto his arm as they left the cafe.
