Chapter 98: A Young Idol’s First Date

After convincing Mimi’s parents to allow him to take their daughter out for the day. Alex was happy to escort the girl to the local mall. After all, he had something special planned out for her, something that he knew she would like.

Of course, the moment after he left with Mimi, her parents decided to dispatch some members of the intelligence community to keep an eye on them. If Alex tried anything inappropriate to their daughter, he would surely pay the price.

Then again, Mimi’s parents weren’t the only ones who wanted to follow Alex on this date. He had made it known to his family that he was going out on a date with a young idol, and because of this, his sisters Kristina and Madison were both incredibly jealous and curious. Thus, they too followed Alex to the destination he had boasted about during his planning stage.

If that were not bad enough there was a third party who was interested in stalking the young couple while they went on their first date, and that was Mimi’s manager Ji-An, who felt it was her duty to protect the pure and innocent girl from a bastard like Alex.

Thus, coincidentally enough, there were three parties dressed in disguises, while stalking Alex and Mimi as they walked around the mall. However, they were surprised when Alex and Mimi stopped in front of a local store. One which caused Mimi’s mismatched eyes to widen in disbelief and excitement.

She, too, was dressed in a disguise, which included a pair of sunglasses to conceal her unique eye colors, a mask to conceal her facial features, and a hat. After all, she didn’t want any of her fans or, god forbid; the media finding out that she was on a date with a man. Because that would surely spark a scandal that could potentially end her career.

Yet, despite this concealed appearance, Alex could tell immediately that the girl was excited, and grinned before voicing his thoughts aloud.

“What do you think, Mimi? Do you want to build a friend for Twinkles?”

What Alex had planned for the girl was to take her to one of those build your own stuffed animal places. And it appeared to have worked like a charm. Because the moment Mimi realized this, a look of childlike wonder appeared on her adorable face, despite the fact that it was concealed by her disguise. She meekly reached out to hold Alex’s hand as she questioned whether or not they were really going to buy something from this store.

“Are we actually going inside?”

Alex, of course, was happy to see that the girl was ecstatic with his idea, and thus he nodded his head with a warm and charming smile before confirming that was indeed his plan.

“Only if you want to…”

With this said, Alex could feel the girl’s grip around his hand tighten as she responded with an excited tone in her voice.

“Thank you so much!”

After saying this, Mimi let go of Alex’s hand, and ran into the store like a child in a candy shop, where Alex followed suit. The two of them were obviously the oldest customers by far, if you excluded the parents of the children who were running around deciding what they wanted to name their stuffed animals, and all that other junk that came with a store like this.

Meanwhile, Mimi couldn’t decide. Naturally, her favorite color was pink, and like Twinkles, she was attracted to the plushies that had that as their primary color. However, she was having a hard time in choosing a pink stuffed rabbit and a pink stuffed monkey, which she was quick to ask Alex about.

“Which should I get? The rabbit, or the monkey?”

While Alex could easily afford both, he decided to only buy one for the girl, simply because he felt that she would treasure that one stuffed animal that he had purchased for her, more than she would if he had bought her two. And thus, he pointed to the rabbit, before complimenting the girl.

“I’d say the rabbit is better. It suits you better, and she’s almost as adorable as you are…”

This caused Mimi to blush in embarrassment. And of course, one of the staff members saw the two of them picking out the stuffed rabbit, and was quick to offer help.

“Is that the one you want?”

Mimi silently nodded her head, still embarrassed about what Alex had said. Causing the employee to smile as she helped Mimi fill the rabbit with stuffing. And print out the name certificate. Once she had done this, the employee asked Mimi if she wanted to buy any outfits for the rabbit. Which caused Mimi to look over at Alex with a hopeful expression on her pretty face. Alex could, of course, only shake his head and smile before telling the girl to pick out whatever she wanted.

“You can pick out however many accessories you feel like for your new friend. It’s on me anyway, and money isn’t an issue for a guy like me!”

The moment the employee heard that, her attention shifted to Alex. She had been jealously eyeing the young man for some time now. After all, he was a good-looking foreigner, and he seemed to be treating his date better than any boyfriend had ever treated her. But when he not so subtly bragged about his wealth, the female employee became even more envious of Mimi than she previously was.

Still, the employee didn’t let it show. While she helped Mimi pick out all the outfits she wanted for her little rabbit, and once she had properly boxed up everything, Alex swiped his credit card. Not even bothering to pay attention to the price, as he signed his name on the receipt before grabbing hold of Mimi’s new prize with one hand, while holding her dainty little hand with his other.

“Now that we’ve had some fun, how about we go get some lunch?”

Mimi couldn’t help but nod her head in agreement with Alex while following him to the food court. Unbeknownst to Mimi, two golden-haired beauties were disguised as they pretended to be receiving a mall manicure while watching Alex’s every move. They spoke to each other with extreme disapproval towards Mimi while also voicing their jealousy aloud.

“Who is that bitch? And why is Alex treating her like a little kid… You don’t think he’s committing a crime by being with a younger girl, do you?”

Madison’s voice was far more timid than her older sisters when she spoke. Specifically, because she did not enjoy being in a crowded mall like this one and was in the middle of nearly having a nervous breakdown because of it.

“I don’t think our little brother is that kind of man… But it is very alarming that he would take a girl out to a store like that on their first date… I say we continue to watch them, and intervene if we have to!”

Thus, the two women paid for their manicures before rushing off to the food court, while not so subtly stalking their little brother. Of course, Alex had seen the two of them from the start. It was not exactly easy for two beautiful Caucasian women to hide in a mall full of Koreans.

And thus he could only sigh and shake his head while he regretted ever speaking about his date with Mimi to his family. He swore in his heart that if his two older sisters did anything to mess this up for him, he would never forgive them.

As for the other two interested parties, Ji-An also stalked through the halls of the mall. While paying attention to Alex and Mimi. But when she entered the food court, she slipped and fell while making an embarrassing scene. Which Alex also noticed, yet Mimi remained blissfully unaware, because her attention was entirely on Alex and her new little friend.

When Alex saw Ji-An make another scene, he could help but sigh and facepalm. Thinking to himself why the hell a klutz like her would even attempt to covertly follow him and Mimi. Meanwhile, the intelligence agents that followed Alex and Mimi around, who were sent by the girl’s parents, were actually professionals.

Not only did they blend in perfectly with the crowd and take photographic evidence of the date. But they also quickly spotted the other two stalkers and made sure to investigate their backgrounds as well.

Yet Alex did not notice these agents, as their job was to do things like this, and he would need some serious government training to be able to spot spies like them. Thus, Alex continued into the food court, where he bought himself and Mimi some lunch, before sitting down at a nearby table.

The girl lowered her mask for each bite, while also lowering her head every time she did so. This was so that nobody would notice her. And in between eating and drinking her soda. She would speak with Alex about their ongoing date.

“Alex… I’m having a wonderful time… I never knew that a date could be so fun!”

Alex ignored the obvious stalkers, who were leering at the two of them like a trio of idiots, and continued to speak with Mimi with his full attention.

“I’m glad to hear that, Mi-Young, because I am also having a great time. It’s not every day I get to take a girl out like this….”

Alex had called the woman by her actual name, because she had requested that he do so while they were in public to avoid catching the attention of people who knew her by her stage name. Yet she was confused when Alex said these words, and was quick to ask for clarification about her confusion.

“Wait… I thought you said you had multiple other women? Don’t you often go on dates with them as well?”

This question caused Alex to realize that he had put his foot in his mouth. Of course, he went on dates with those women, but they were far more mature dates. He took them out to the movies, and to expensive restaurants, and sometimes they even went lingerie shopping together.

He never had a chance to take a girl to a freaking plushie shop. That would be abnormal for the type of women he normally went out with. More over his intentions with those dates weren’t to simply relax and have fun, they were to get the girl in the mood to sleep with him. When it came to Mimi, his intentions were far more wholesome, and thus Alex had a difficult time avoiding this subject as he tried to come up with some excuse for what he had meant.

“Well… The answer to that is a bit complicated. I do take my girls out as often as I can, but it’s not like they are the type of women who would enjoy building their own stuffed rabbit. Moreover, a lot of the time, we just end up spending time together at either their place or mine. We have a nice meal, drink some wine, watch some TV, and do some other things… So, it’s not every day I can just take a girl out to the mall and have some fun with her.”

Mimi was curious by what Alex had said, specifically when he mentioned the words “other things” and thus she couldn’t help but interrogate the man about that in particular.

“What other things do you do with these women? Do you hold hands with them as well?”

There was an obvious red face behind her face mask, as Mimi asked this. And thus, Alex couldn’t help to admit the truth, while hiding the extent of the lewd things he did with his other women.

“You could say that….”

As naïve, and innocent as Mimi was, when Alex said he had other women, she knew that he meant they were his girlfriends, and thus she had already prepared her heart for the idea that Alex was holding hands with these other women.

But she still felt depressed when she heard the man admit the truth. And Alex picked up on this. Thus, he reached over and grabbed the girl’s hand, while intertwining his fingers with her own in an attempt to placate her nerves.

“Relax Mi-Young, just because I have other women, doesn’t mean I’m going to leave you. You know that I love you…”

This remark caused Mimi’s heart to settle as she sighed in relief before expressing her thoughts on the matter.

“So… This is what jealousy feels like? I don’t like it! I will do my best not to feel this way again!”

Alex wanted to pet the girl’s hair, and compliment her for being so accepting his of lifestyle, but she was wearing a hat to help conceal her identity. Thus, he simply smiled and thanked her.

“You’re a good girl Mimi…”

He made sure to say this in a voice so low that only Mimi could hear it. And his next thoughts were even quieter, as only he managed to know what he said.

“Way too good for a guy like me….”

After this, Mimi and Alex would have a conversation about a variety of stuff, before going to the mall’s movie theater where they watched a lighthearted and child friendly comedy that Mimi had wanted to see.

Afterwards they drove back to Mimi’s house, where he dropped her off in time for dinner. Needless to say, he had actually impressed the girl’s mother with how much of a gentleman he had been with her daughter, despite the fact that Alex was a total playboy.

As for his sisters, and Ji-An, they were confused by the fact that Alex had not even made a single attempt to kiss Mimi, or do anything more intimate with the girl. Leading Kristina and Madison to believe their brother may not be the fuckboy they were led to believe he was. Perhaps there was still some of his old kindhearted self that still existed deep within his heart, after all.
