Voyage With The Pirate King

Chapter 116 - Defending One's Wife

Chapter 116 - Defending One's Wife

Rui Fei had never been this embarrassed in his entire life. At that time he was so absentminded as he walked out of the hot spring that he didn't bother putting on some clothes. Which was very funny because if Ji Yao pranced around shirtless in full view of so many girls Rui Fei would have reacted strongly.

Like a volcano repressed for an entire millennium he would explode at the slight presence of a pressure point. And Ji Yao walking around shirtless would provide the perfect conditions for that.

Rui Fei stared at him stupefied for a moment but that look slowly melted away when a strange thought fleet past his mind. Was Ji Yao jealous? The more he thought about it the higher the corners of his lips quirked up. Like a cheshire cat his smile grew wider and wider.

This was the weird smile that Ji Yao was met with when he raised his head. Such a foolish smile on Rui Fei's face was enough to jolt him. He seriously wished to dissect Ji Yao's brain and see what's inside. He wouldn't be surprised if it's full of water. Ji Yao was even afraid to ask.

Well, it turns out he didn't have to because Rui Fei was happy sharing. He sat opposite him leaning over slightly as he asked in a teasing tone, "Jealous?"

Ji Yao arched his brow looking at him as though staring at an idiot. He was seeking signs of mockery or taunting but there was none of that. Rui Fei simply wanted to know if Ji Yao was jealous.

Since the kid was asking seriously then it would be rude not to answer. "No, but as your big brother this is my way of showing you care," he responded in an all knowing tone.

Rui Fei was not expecting this answer at all but neither was he discouraged. He gazed at him with a languid look that could be described as sensual by vogue standards. Looking straight into his eyes he said, "I thought you aren't my brother?"

Ji Yao, "....."

Okay fair point. When they first met he refused to be addressed as brother by him on numerous occasions but he never thought this could ultimately be used against him. "Make yourself useful or scram," said Ji Yao before lowering his head to focus on this intricate necklace that could bring forth luck but also bring one closer to their death.

The gemstones were of a similar color with no distinct markers or shapes but they varied in sizes. Ji Yao tried to inject a little of his seraphic energy into the gemstones but when he remembered the big bad wolf's presence he decided not to try it out as of yet.

It was as though there was some sort of barrier denying him entry. He fell into deep concentration his face calm but his eyes were showcasing his true emotions. He was so focused on his work that he didn't notice Rui Fei watching him like a hawk. Words like handsome and cute were said in Rui Fei's mind as he watched him like he was looking at something fascinating.

Giving up, Ji Yao's brows creased with a troubled look as he bit his lower lip inadvertently attracting as certain someone's attention. This lip-bite clearly expressed Ji Yao's want for something which he was withholding. To him the something he wanted was to figure out how to solve this riddle but to Rui Fei, oh boy.

It was like a typical example of a sexual innuendo invoking a surge of hunger in Rui Fei. Ji Yao raised his head and saw the exact same expression Rui Fei had after biting him except this time there was no hint of guilt.

"Fuck, are you imagining me as a piece of pork again?" asked Ji Yao feeling like one wrong move he would be on the menu.

Rui Fei, 'No but I want to eat you,' he thought while casually glancing at the necklace. That's when he was struck by sudden inspiration.

"Don't you think if the other keystone helped us find this one then all you need is to put them together add a little seraphic energy and you would figure out which is the pearl or which one is the cooked fish eye," he said genuinely trying to help his white moonlight find a solution.

"Are you going to fight me like last time if I engage my aether?" asked Ji Yao placing the necklace down while looking at him with a derisive look on his face.

Rui Fei, 'QAQ'

He immediately shut up after that. The little cub was even thinking of going to make some sweet cakes for his beloved so he would stop being mean. One could understand why Ji Yao was snippy.

He had already moved on from the strangling incident but Rui Fei just had to go on and bite him. Secondly, Rui Fei had pranced around the courtyard like an Instagram model with little to no censorship. Actually no, instagram is pure. He was more like a tiktoker using a thirst trap to lure followers.

Well, the only thing I am wondering is why he cared so much about who walked out where half naked? Why was it so annoying to him that Rui Fei did that? As we ponder on this discovery Ji Yao was asking himself the very same question.

While Rui Fei was contemplating whether to leave or stay, the door was suddenly slid open and the uncle who had passed out on the side of the pond last night was furious. Of all the relatives he could have been stuck with in this world it had to be the uncaring nephew.

That cub was no longer thinking with his head but with his third leg when it came to Ji Yao. He wanted to educate his nephew about leaving him behind to become a feast for mosquitoes when he saw the mark on Ji Yao's neck.

All he could say was, "What the....," before Rui Fei gave him a glare so vicious it could freeze hell over. Ji Yao could say it but if anyone else says it he will die from embarrassment.

Huishe Yue swallowed back his words as he scratched his head not sure how to proceed at this point. It seemed he was bound not to voice his grievances today because just like how he barged in earlier so did the concord members who were eager to see Ji Yao.

Not because they missed him or because they were worried but because they had a lot of complaints gathered while he was passed out.

Firstly, they loved this place and wanted to stay rent free for a couple more days but judging from the urgency of the situation Ji Yao wouldn't agree so they decided on looting a few treasures instead. A pirate was but a pirate after all.

Secondly, they strongly felt that this Huishe person shouldn't join the crew. The way their leaders were traumatized mainly Lan Wu after fighting with Huishe Yue was too terrifying.

As for the other two it was hard to determine whether their trauma was because of the attack by Huishe Yue or the fact that he exposed a deeming secret. With that in mind no one wanted to talk about how vulnerable they will be whenever Huishe Yue would so much as look at them.

They didn't want their secrets exposed because that could lead to a civil war in the concord. No one wanted to know who stole who's rice cakes and who spat into who's congee for kicks. Yes, they were much darker secrets than this. Of course,

these examples were purely for demonstrative purposes expressing the seriousness of this matter.

Thirdly... well, they hadn't quite agreed on the third grievance yet but it had to do with Rui Fei. That kid was scary too like his uncle.

Ji Yao listened to them tentatively like a good leader but in truth it was just white noise. He was like that manager who nods and hums when you speak but in his mind he had already made a final decision.

After they were done dragging good old uncle Yue in the mud they waited in silence for their new Pirate King to speak. And so he spoke saying, "Yes to the looting and no to getting rid of Huishe Yue."

"Why though when he hurt you?" asked Xiaoyu completely disregarding the decorum.

But Ji Yao wasn't annoyed. He simply answered, "He is important to Fen-er so we will keep him." Cut throat, frank to the bone. If only one could cut up Rui Fei's heart right now a kaleidoscope of butterflies would burst out. Why was Ji Yao so sweet?

The sweetness in the air left an after taste on everyone's tongue but they couldn't come to terms with it. These words were much more suitable to be said when a man is coaxing his wife in public. But instead they were spoken by Ji Yao for Rui Fei. Why was this so weird?

Let's not even mention how Xiaoyu felt when she heard this. She tried to adopt a cat once and begged this crew to let her keep it. Rushing to Ji Yao she acted coquettishly but his exact words were, "You heard the crew.... find him a new home."

But when it came to Rui Fei he backed him up in front of everyone. Of course, she had over looked the value of a cat compared to a Nocru, native from Niuq who held so much power in his hands.. If Ji Yao wasn't only keeping him around for Rui Fei then he was doing it to make an ally.
