Chapter 249 - It Must Be Armageddon

Chapter 249 - It Must Be Armageddon

While the Rui siblings were planning a mission impossible type of rescue expedition, Ji Yao was seriously getting annoyed. He thought ignoring the knocks would make them give up but it seemed that wasn't the case.

He didn't want to yell because that would disturb Rui Fei's sleep but he also didn't want to get up because that meant he might have to deal with whatever issue they were having outside.

If it was any other day he would have tossed something at the door and expressed his displeasure to the person on the other side of the door. But that loud bang might also disturb Rui Fei who was sleeping soundly. He only had one choice left and that was to get up and scold the culprit.

But before he could get up the door was suddenly pushed open a crack before a head of hair with a floral headpiece peeked through.

From the headpiece alone he could tell who it was but here is the thing. Lady Ching Sei knew him better than anyone else apart from his father and wouldn't casually disturb him unless it was a life and death matter. Armageddon had surely dawned upon them for her to have the audacity to open his cabin door without permission.

Since no outburst or cursing was coming from inside she slowly walked in and closed the door behind her before whispering, "Yao-er.... are you awake."

Ji Yao was about to respond when Rui Fei wiggled his nose uncomfortably as though smelling a foreign scent. In a slow series of actions, he turned over to sleep on his right side and nestled into Ji Yao's chest with his curled leg over Ji Yao's.

He sniffed that comforting scent once more before relaxing and falling back into a deep sleep. Ji Yao had the side of his body half propped up by his elbow as he was about to get up before but after this squid moved around and coiled his tentacles around him he was forced to lie down.

From this angle, he could barely see the graceful figure of Lady Ching Sei through the curtain so he whispered that she should come closer. She seemed to catch the hint so she walked over in light steps before reaching the bed.

When she saw the sight behind the curtain her heart dropped to the floor. How can she not be panicked? These two were cuddling like a pair of lovebirds and based on Ji Yao's doting expression the position of Rui Fei in his heart was indeed high. She wouldn't be surprised if Rui Fei was first on the ranking list booting off Ji Wen from the top spot.

She lowered her head and whispered, "It's about Xiaoyu, sh-," but before she could finish her sentence Ji Yao interrupted her.

"It's not urgent.... I will deal with it tomorrow," he said to her clearly conveying that this was the end of the discussion.

Lady Ching Sei pursed her lips not sure if she should just leave like that. What if Rui Fei wakes up in the middle of the night and tries to kill Ji Yao? After hesitating, she opened her mouth to speak but Ji Yao spoke first.

"Let's talk tomorrow. I am really exhausted," he said again trying his very best not to be rude. He knew she was just worried for him but this wasn't a good time to have a discussion.

She nodded her head and said, "If anything happens just call out to me, okay?" After saying this she scurried out of the room leaving behind a confused Ji Yao. Why would she be staying on board Red Bain when she could stay on her ship? He brushed it off and glanced down at Rui Fei who was sleeping comfortably.

Under the dim candlelight, Rui Fei's eyelashes flickered as he mumbled something while drawing Ji Yao's body closer. The sound of his breathing was very light and his breath long and slow infecting Ji Yao with a trace of drowsiness.

With the wave of his hand, he blew out the candlelight and lay down facing Rui Fei. Rui Fei's silvery grey ends seemed to have spread upwards again towards his roots. His lustrous hair shimmered under the moon rays seeping through the crystal glass window making one have the urge to touch it. Ji Yao did reach out to brush it. It felt so soft to the touch.

Ji Yao brushed it a couple of times before he gradually fell asleep. When he opened his eyes he was in the canola field again with Rui Fei sleeping next to him. The atmosphere was tranquil and relaxing. If they could just be like this forever wouldn't that be great?

They would be free from the trouble of the world that threatened to destroy them. But life wasn't like that, reality was cruel and harsh especially to the weak. This is why Ji Wen set himself to be powerful so he can take care of his son. In turn, Ji Yao also wanted to be powerful to protect the one he loves.

This is why in this canola field he vowed to capture Prince Rui and deliver him to Rui Fei wrapped up like a Christmas gift for the cub to do whatever he pleased.

Hopefully, this would help him recover knowing that the monster that tortured him for sixteen years no longer breathes the same air as him. With this thought, he sank into this lovely dream even unconsciously smiling in his sleep.

Crossing the vast sea and half the continent of Hyesong to the imperial palace Prince Rui was sitting on the dragon throne that he coveted for a very long time.

After slaughtering all his siblings who could challenge him for the throne he spent the rest of his days engaged in debauchery drinking and satisfying his lustful desires endlessly.

Under the prime minister's scorching gazes he brought in half Nocru as his imperial guards and brought over so many half Nocru women bedding them as though determined to sow as much of his seed as possible.

He needed to absorb more of his offspring's seraphic energy to make himself powerful enough to stand against Ji Yao and his band of bandits. But this method was extremely slow and he had no time. He was in desperate need of a quick solution that could provide him with enough power so he can finally make a move.

At this moment he was sitting on the throne in a slouched posture with the lapel of his robe pulled open as a group of women served him wine and meat. He had on an absent expression thinking of ways to get that disobedient son of his back in his clutches.

But to do that he had to separate him from Ji Yao which was incredibly difficult at this point.. He had to either come up with a clever method or somehow become instantly powerful enough to destroy Ji Yao.
