Chapter 333 - Let The Games Begin
Chapter 333 - Let The Games Begin
The boy was constantly rubbing his temples with a grave expression on his face. Instead of feeling a sense of relief, it was only getting worse and worse over time. He squatted on the ground and buried his head. His fingers pressed down the back of his head like he wanted to rip his skull open.
It burnt like a thousand ants were nibbling at his brain but no matter what he did there was no sense of relief.
He wanted to cry out but no matter how hard he tried his voice wouldn't come out. It was as though he had been robbed of his speech and could only suffer in silence.
His body toppled to the ground as his fingers curled up. The veins on his neck became more prominent throbbing under his almost translucent skin. It was then Rui Li noticed something was wrong. She broke from Rui Yewan's hold and rushed over to the boy twisting on the ground unnaturally.
"Hey..... hey what's wrong," she said as she pushed his hair away from his cheek then proceeded to lightly slap him. But all her efforts were futile. "Wan Wan help," she said the worry in her eyes apparent.
Rui Yewan who was already beside her turned the boy to his side as he called out, "Old Du." The kid was seizing up with his eyes tightly shut. Old Du rushed over and this grabbed everyone's attention but before they could even worry about the boy something else happened.
Ji Yao who had been winning this little scuffle immediately pushed Rui Fei away and with a cold gaze he said, "We are here." To be frank, even he was confused. He didn't think they could stumble upon the territory of the creature this easy. He had thought it would at least take them a couple of more hours but it turned out that wasn't the case.
Ji Yao wasn't to be blamed for this miscalculation because the keystone in the Aoyin's possession had felt Ji Yao's presence and expanded the creature's territory. What did this mean? It meant Ji Yao had stumbled upon the so-called expansion of the boundary.
With a swing of his hand both his clothes and Rui Fei were dried as they got out of the water. With a scowl on his face, Ji Yao held on to the hilt of his sword as he looked searchingly.
Rui Fei couldn't bear seeing Ji Yao like this so he said, "We got this," reassuring him as he patted his shoulder. Ji Yao who felt bad for messing around when they were in a dangerous territory lightly nodded his head but it did nothing to ease his guilt.
Suddenly an eerie chuckle came from within the group. Turning around they found the boy who was having a seizure a moment ago was now sitting upright with his hands that were covering his face slowly lowering as he chuckled.
Old Du had already moved Rui Li and Rui Yewan behind him as he stared at the boy coldly with great vigilance. The boy's eyes were as red as the eyes of the creatures from earlier. They flashed with an evil glint as they peered in between his fingers.
"You..... think it would... be easy... to get... rid of me. Not now.... You are now.... in my house... bitch. Let..... the ... games begin," it spoke through the boy before his body suddenly lay limp falling back to the ground.
Ji Yao was breathing heavily as he glared at the boy who lay lifeless on the ground. Clutching his hilt tighter he ordered, "You two watch him," to the two siblings.
With a swosh, he unsheathed his sword and said, "Kill as you like and don't die." With these words, he leapt up to the sky before disappearing into the forest.
"Fuck, Yao-ge," said Rui Fei who had suddenly been ditched by his partner. He followed behind him and also vanished into the forest.
Lady Ching Sei took a step forward and said, "Well, you heard him. Just don't die," as her ribbons shook excitedly ready to spill blood. From the opposite side of the river, hundreds and hundreds of pairs of eyes appeared within the shadows glaring viciously at them as though staring at dead men.
"Is it too late to back down now," said Lan Wu as he realised the pair of eyes were too many to count?
Huishe Yue who found this fascinating said, "Don't worry I will protect you, though it will cost you," before biting his lower lip with a roguish expression.
Lan Wu, "..."
From within the shadows, one pair of eyes emerged slowly like a cheetah silently stalking its prey. The moonlight fell upon its body partially engulfed in black fog revealing itself to the enemy.
It had four legs as thin and pointed as toothpicks that were partially wrapped in fog. Below its neck, it had two sharp claws protruding like arms. The rest of its body was partially shrouded in darkness but it was easy for these half Nocru to see.
The neck was long and split into three as it curled downwards. Three skull heads appeared with horizontal pupils in their red eyes. Those three heads weren't the only parts of the creature that had eyes. It also had eyes on the side of its torso each as bright as the rest.
Zhang Li had seen plenty of things in his entire life but this... this was something new to him. A flash of disgust showed in his eyes as he uttered the words, "That's the ugliest motherfu-," but before he could finish the creature suddenly vanished and reappeared in front of him with its claws aimed at his abdomen.
His breath caught in fright, Zhang Li stared right into the eyes of the creature his blood running cold. For a moment he froze up not knowing how to react. The creature stared back at him and showed a fierce expression. But this expression didn't last because there was suddenly the sound of something sharp piercing flesh with the creature moving forward a little.
The creature fell to the ground with a long thud. Shocked Zhang Li covered in cold sweat looked down at his body only to find that he was unscathed. He saw a ribbon retract from the body of the creature and followed it only to be met with Lady Ching Sei's warm gaze.
"Don't aggravate the opponent unless you can beat them," she said before returning to her usual cold self.
Zhang Li exhaled his bated breath and smiled nervously as he calmed his nerves. That creature really caught him unaware. The rest of the creatures emerged from the bushes and a full-on battle broke out.
The smell of death spread and the river was painted with black blood as the creatures dropped like flies.. Unfortunately for them, this was just the appetizer.
