Chapter 256 Whereabouts Of The Guard Captain
Chapter 256 Whereabouts Of The Guard Captain
It took Arthur about thirty minutes to reach the center with all the traffic and due to the fact that he couldn't run without causing trouble.
Unlike Roran Town, they took security a bit more strictly here and if someone with stats like Arthur ran, it could be disruptive to the others. As such, Arthur could only walk faster, which was still better than the speed of running for most normal people.
Still, there was the crowd and carriages that slowed him down, which was why it took him thirty minutes. Otherwise, he would have reached it in less than half the time.
"Halt! Entry to the Noble District is restricted!" The guards standing at the gate of the Noble District were stricter.
They were also wearing better armor and had higher levels too.

'They sure are of a different kind.' Arthur thought.
While they were not something that would trouble Arthur in a fight, that was only when he went up against a single guard. If he provoked an Elite guard, it wouldn't just be one Elite guard that came at him, but rather tens of them.
And all of them would be around the same level as this, overwhelming Arthur.
'Though not for long… if my plan goes well, I should be able to grow much stronger in just a few days' time.' Arthur thought to himself.
"May I be provided entry? I need to go visit a guest at Baron Selvig's mansion." Arthur spoke. "I have a letter from the Guild master of Roran Town that I need to deliver personally." He said before taking out the letter.
This time, Arthur's Adventure ID card wouldn't be enough to get him in.
"Let me take a look." The Elite guard checked the letter and verified the seal on it.
He then glanced at Arthur a few times and even checked his identity as an adventurer before finally letting him in.
"Go, but don't you dare cause any trouble. If you do, it'll be straight to jail for you." The Elite Guard warned.
"Of course." Arthur wasn't offended by it, as he knew this would be normal for newbies coming to the city.
He didn't wish to cause any trouble either, as he wanted his Reputation to go up rather than down.

The gate was lifted for Arthur, and he entered the Noble District. The difference between the Noble district and the rest of the city was rather drastic.
The roads were all paved with flat flagstones while trees were planted at equal distances along the roads.
Flower beds adorned the squares while gently glowing flame lamps illuminated the paths. Now that the sun had set, the place looked rather beautiful.
Of course, this meant that plenty of nobles had come out to enjoy the cool and pleasant evening too.
The couples walked hand in hand while whispering sweet nothings into each other's ears and the older nobles chatted about their own days of youth and of their achievements.
The entire place looked much different than the hustle and bustle of the commoners. It was slow paced and rather relaxing.
With areas like this in the game, there was a reason why many players started to have their dates virtually. And many even met their partners in the game. A couple of years later, it would become common for people to date in the game for a long time, before suddenly getting married in the real world.
Morpheus Online added another feather to its cap, becoming a matchmaker for many couples around the world.
"Now to actually see where the Baron lives…" Arthur looked around for sign boards.
Since there were just two barons living in the City, it wasn't hard to find them. In fact, to honor the higher ranking nobles, the entire street was named after them. As such, Arthur only looked for the sign of Selvig Street and followed it.
Selvig Street was in the Western Part of the Noble District and had about six residences in it. With how big the noble residences were, not many could fit in a single street. In fact, Baron Selvig's mansion took up the right half of the entire street!
The rest of the given residences were on the left side of the street and were much smaller than the Baron's Mansion.
In fact, the Baron's mansion didn't just have a single large building, but multiple smaller buildings too, serving as quarters for the Baron's personal guards as well as the servants.
"Man, I wonder how much a house like this would cost in the real world…" Arthur couldn't help but feel envious.
Landed Houses were very expensive in Maxwell City, and most people could only afford apartments there. Even in the outskirts, it was the same, with individual houses and bungalows becoming a rarity.
Only a few districts in the city actually had such houses and they usually belonged to rich people. Many of them were in gated communities and as such, normal people wouldn't even get to see them.
Arthur himself had never been to a house such as this in the real world, and thus couldn't help but think about it.
But just as he was thinking about this, he heard a cough from behind him.
"Ahem~ Who are you?" A voice was heard.
Arthur turned around and saw an old man standing behind him. The man was dressed in relatively simple clothes and looked to be in his fifties.
His hair was grey and he had a well trimmed beard on his face along with a small scar that went down his jaw.
But the most striking feature was his eyes, that looked like they belonged to a warrior. Looking at them, Arthur couldn't help but feel a bit alert.
'Dragon's Insight!' Arthur quickly used the skill.
