Chapter 2593 Indigo World Hegemony's Outpost
Unaware of the Saintess's thought of a gift, Lin Mu stood up from the ground.
Taking a deep breath, he felt the fragrance of the countless flowers that bloomed in the Imperial Azazel Courtyard's garden. They felt rather pleasant and were like a gentle stimulant to them, the the perfect palate cleanser after a heavy meal.
It was night time again, and the stars could be seen twinkling in the distant space.
Normally only a few could be seen since the Asteroids surrounding the Rust Sky world blocked the night sky. But due to them being cleared out by the Bridge Plane a rare sight was visible to the people of the world.
Many people had taken this chance to star gaze and it was a rather enjoyable activity to both commoners as well as the top experts.
In fact, many restaurants and entertainment establishments had decided to take advantage of this opportunity and start open air areas for Stargazing while they enjoyed their meals.
"Beautiful isn't it?" The Saintess spoken breaking the silence of the courtyard.
"Indeed… Every star is its own being and shines with its power. Some of them might be entire worlds with creatures living on them. I wonder if they're looking at us too, as we are at them." Lin Mu replied without moving his eyes.
"You are most likely correct. One is never alone in the world, for there will always be people watching from afar, even if it might be thousands of light years away." The Saintess's responded as she looked up as well.
The two sat there quietly, enjoying this starry night.
…
They didn't know how true their words were for there were certainly people gazing at them from distant worlds. Of course, while they couldn't really 'see' them, they were looking in their direction.
In a distant world located in the Farlands of the Immortal Realm, there existed a floating castle. The castle looked rather grim and mottled walls that had been marred by an unknown number of years dressed its sides.
Eighteen watchtowers stood tall as tiny lights glowed within them.
In the center of the castle was an open terrace on which a few people stood.
Three were two in particular that were standing at the very front while another group watched in silence.
They were all dressed in variety of clothes, but the one thing that was common among all was a badge that Lin Mu would find familial.
It had the same design that he did on one of his rings.
It was the symbol of the Indigo World Hegemony!
"How long?" the leading man standing on the left asked.
"Shouldn't be long. The Superiors said that they have already finished the meeting." The leading Mon on the right replied.
"It's been three months already since the report was announced. Shouldn't we act soon?" The right man asked.
"Have some patience Right Emissary, we cannot question the methods of the Superiors." The Left Emissary said calmly.
"Hmm…" The two stood there in silence for a while before a small light illuminated an altar before them.
SHUA
The two quickly looked at it and stood in attention.
"The Right and Left Emissaries of the Karden outpost greet the superiors!" they said while bowing their heads.
A formation screen was projected from the altar as the silhouettes of several individuals appeared. Their faces could not be seen but the shape of their body could be made out.
If one observed them closely they would realize that not all of them were humans.
Some of the silhouettes seemed to have horns, while a few had wings. There were even a couple that had multiple heads!
"The decision has been made." A central silhouette spoke, authority exuding from his voice.
"We wait for the command." The right and left emissaries responded while keeping their heads bowed.
"The Karden Outpost along with four other Outposts of the Farlands are to activate the 'Retrieval' Protocol." The central silhouette stated.
"We have accepted the command." The two men stadias before the Formation screen disappeared.
The altar stopped glowing and the commanding presence faded, allowing the two emissaries to stand.
They turned to face the group of people that were waiting in attention and a serious expression appeared on their faces.
"Begin the plan. Send out scouts to investigate the individual that were behind the elimination of the Celestial Soul. If any information is found, they are to report back immediately.
A battalion of vanguards are also to set out to form a rapid response team." The Right Emissary ordered.
"YES!" all the people present replied as they knelt on one leg.
"Dismissed!" The left emissary said as they all left, flying out of the floating castle and descending upon the world below.
The world itself was as grim as the floating castle, as there didn't seem to be a single sign of life on it. No trees, no animals, and not even water.
It looked like a desolate world.
Normally a world like this held no value and barely anyone would focus on it. That was exactly why it was an important location for the Indigo World Hegemony.
An hour later, the entire desolate world lit up as trillions upon trillions of runes glowed on the surface of the world!
The desolate dark world had now transformed into a bright world!
The world glowed for a few seconds before disappearing into nothingness, its whereabouts unknown.
The Immortal Realm knew nothing of the threat that had begin to move within its confines.
Lin Mu and the Saintess watched the sky, not knowing that a distant 'star' had just disappeared.
The night turned into day and the two decided to have a meal.
Lin Mu cooked personally for the Saintess while she enjoyed his dishes along with the wine he had made.
The breakfast was the perfect end to a night of calm stargazing.
But while they had a calm time, Lin Mu's tamed beasts were doing something that could not be considered the opposite.
