Chapter 2625 Blasting Stars
Seeing that Xukong had elicited a funny enough reaction from Lin Mu, he decided to come clean.
"Alright, alright. But it is true. Stars wander through space for long enough and, due to their gravity, absorb a lot of energies and materials. Since they are essentially just massive concentrations of energy themselves, they can easily contain Spatial Energy over time, which transforms into Void Essence Crystals," Xukong clarified.
"Are they not damaged by the intense gravity and heat?" Lin Mu asked, his curiosity piqued.
"No, they are impervious to that," Xukong replied. "The raw Spatial Energy is volatile, but under the influence of strong gravity, it condenses. The intense heat further breaks it down into simpler Spatial Qi, which, once crystallized, becomes immune to such extreme conditions.
"The crystals then float on the surface of the stars, which is essentially a mix of liquid and gas. If someone can endure the heat, they could theoretically scoop them up."
"Huh… I don't think there are many people who can do that," Lin Mu remarked, shaking his head.
"Yeah, there aren't," Xukong confirmed.
"Then what method do they use? If this is known to others, they must have derived some other approach by now," Lin Mu mused.
"They shoot at it," Xukong said, almost nonchalantly.
"Shoot at it? With arrows?" Lin Mu raised an eyebrow, incredulous.
"Cannons," Xukong answered simply. "They blast the surface of the star, hoping to dislodge the crystals."
"Is that even cost-effective?" Lin Mu's analytical mind immediately began assessing the practicality of such an endeavor.
For a cannon to overpower a star's gravity and deliver enough force to send Void Essence Crystals flying out from its intense gravitational field would require immense energy. Constructing such a cannon with materials capable of withstanding these conditions would be an astronomical expense.
Not to mention the difficulty of pinpointing the crystals' locations amidst the star's blinding brightness. This would necessitate highly advanced sensing tools capable of functioning under such extreme circumstances.
"You're right; it's rarely cost-effective," Xukong acknowledged. "Only a few powers have adapted this method, and they do so only because the stars near their territories have conditions conducive to it—lower brightness and gravitational pull.
"Additionally, the cannons they construct involve significant investment, and their economy revolves around harvesting Void Essence Crystals. It's their primary source of income."
"Hmm… and they're located in the Immortal World?" Lin Mu inquired.
"They are. Two such powers exist in each section of the Immortal Realm. In the Western Immortal Court's region, they are the Wave Star Sect and the Blast Heaven Sect," Xukong replied.
"Their names certainly align with their work," Lin Mu said with a chuckle. "Perhaps I should visit them one day."
"They're quite far, though. Both sects are situated on the outskirts of the Immortal Court's territory, near the Farlands," Xukong informed him.
"Hmm… I'll keep it in mind for the future," Lin Mu noted.
SHUA!
Just as he was speaking, he felt the space flicker, and the Teleportation Channel trembled.
"Looks like you're almost at your destination now," Xukong observed.
"Right on time. Their estimation was accurate—exactly one month and three days," Lin Mu remarked, a bit impressed.
He stood up and glanced at his companions, who were still immersed in cultivation. They hadn't sensed the change in space and were unaware that their first leg of the journey was nearing completion. However, noticing Lin Mu's movement, they opened their eyes.
"We're there?" Daoist Chu asked.
"Any minute now," Lin Mu replied.
"Amitabha. That was a pleasant journey," Monk Hushu said, his tone reflecting relief. Their most recent teleportations had not been the safest.
A couple of minutes later, their vision turned blank, and the sensation of weight returned to their bodies. They felt firm ground beneath their feet as their surroundings came into focus, revealing a massive Teleportation Array.
The array was circular and encased within a pentagram, each vertex marked by a hundred-meter-tall tower. Formation masters occupied the towers, diligently controlling the array.
"Welcome to the Jui World. You are currently in the territory of the Shanxi Empire," an announcement rang out.
Lin Mu scanned his surroundings, noticing that the array was located in a forested region. The uniform arrangement of the trees suggested they had been planted artificially.
Moments later, a man approached them, flanked by guards.
"Please follow me for immigration procedures," the man instructed.
"Alright," Lin Mu agreed, and the trio followed him.
Saintess' presence vanished, though Lin Mu knew she had only cloaked herself to avoid detection. The procedures were straightforward, especially after Daoist Chu and Monk Hushu presented their Immortal Court tokens. Lin Mu also had a token given by the Crown Prince, which eased the process further.
Their names and affiliations were noted, and they were promptly allowed to proceed. It was a routine matter for the immigration officials.
"So this is the Jui World," Lin Mu remarked, gazing at the clear, blue sky.
He took a deep breath, noting the subtle scent of leaves in the air. Following the tiled path out of the Teleportation area, they observed banners of the Shanxi Empire lining the route. The royal crest depicted a delicate jasmine flower encircled by trees.
The crest or symbol of a power told a lot about their origins and what they represented. Looking at the Shanxi Empire's crest, made Lin Mu think thats they were possibly a nature oriented kingdom.
"You wanna take a look around?" Daoist Chu asked. "Shanxi Empire is rather beautiful you know. Its known for its vast gardens and orchards in its cities and its vibrant forests outside it." He added.
"Oh?" Hearing that instantly rang bells of opportunity within Lin Mu's mind.
A new world meant a lot of new resources and materials, which was especially important to someone like Lin Mu who needed a ton of them all the time.
Plus hearing about the forests made Lin Mu think about the Litany Of The Verdant Forests.
'I can try it out here if they have a lot of forests that suit it.' He thought.
