Chapter 54 - I WANT TO EAT AT 'WARTEG'
Chapter 54 - I WANT TO EAT AT 'WARTEG'
Lucas looked very sick when he remembered the figure of Keenan. For some reason, she seemed to dislike him so much. In fact, it should be Keenan who hates him more, because his lover has been snatched away. However, this is quite the opposite.
"No, Lucas!" Ellena argued.
"I won't give you permission to meet anyone outside, including your lover! Do you understand?" Lucas reiterated his words.
How could Lucas carelessly give permission to Ellena at a time like this. If the media crew found out Ellena was walking with another man, all his secrets could be exposed and in an instant his reputation would be ruined.
"Fine, Lucas. I see." Ellena whispered. "Besides, I can't be careless. I know what you're worried about right now. She added, which made Lucas furrow his brows.
'Does she really understand what I'm saying?' Lucas muttered.
"Can I trust you?" Lucas asked to confirm. He really didn't want what he had feared all along to happen.
"Of course, Lucas. You can do anything to me, if I dare to violate it." Ellena tried to convince Lucas.
"Fine. If you dare to transgress, don't expect me to forgive you, Elle."
"So you're giving me permission?" asked Ellena a little enthusiastically.
"Yes, but on one condition."
"What else, Lucas? Don't you realize that you've already given me a condition? If you put another condition, it means you've given more than one condition, Lucas!" Ellena protested slightly annoyed.
How come? Wanting to just go outside, she had to accept so many conditions from her husband. How could she calm down and have fun, if there were so many conditions she had to take care of.
Hearing Ellena protesting, Lucas immediately chuckled. After he thought about it, it turned out that what Ellena said was also true. Hadn't he previously imposed a condition that Ellena not meet Keenan? Ah, he just realized that. Why did he suddenly become stupid and forgetful at a time like this?
"Why are you even laughing? Is there anything funny?" Ellena chirps which managed to make Lucas laugh to a halt.
"Yes." Lucas replied curtly.
"What's that?"
"You." Lucas' answer this time managed to silence Ellena for a while.
Maybe Ellena was stuck there with a face already like a boiled crab. In such a situation, Lucas would always tease her.
"Lucas, why do you always take things as a joke, huh? I'm talking seriously." Ellena made another protest.
"But you like it, don't you?" Instead of listening to Ellena's words, Lucas teased the woman again. It was certain how upset Ellena was at this time.
"Never mind, I'll just hang up the phone!" Ellena threatened Lucas.
"Okay, I'm sorry!" Lucas immediately tried to stop Ellena from hanging up the phone. He did that because he hadn't finished talking to the woman yet.
"You can go outside, but wait for the driver to pick you up," Lucas informed her.
"No need, Lucas! I'll just take a taxi," said Ellena later.
"That's my condition. If you want to go, you follow my rules." It's not Lucas his name if he accepts rejection. Agree or not, he would definitely force Ellena to keep agreeing to his terms.
Ellena snorted harshly. "Okay." She whispered then.
"Make sure you get home on time and you don't mess around out there!" said Lucas who again gave another condition.
"What time should I get home?" asked Ellena curiously.
Lucas looked at the watch in his hand, before he finally responded to Ellena's question. "An hour later." He replied, lowering his hand again.
"What? You're only giving me such a short amount of time? How can that be enough, Lucas!" Again, Ellena protested. "I'm not ready, Lucas. Not to mention, I have to wait for your driver. Can you imagine how much time I have to spend on that?"
Apparently, Ellena was very annoyed with Lucas. Yes of course. Wasn't she just a play wife, but why did Lucas act like a real husband to her?
"I don't want to know! My decision is made and don't you dare change that!" Lucas seemed to get up from his seat, then moved to his desk and sat in his proud swivel chair. "I will transfer the money to your account, you use it as much as you want. If you dare to come home late, I will make sure that I will pick you up myself!"
"Lucas your condition is—"
"Stop, Elle. I have to work, don't bother me anymore!" Lucas immediately hung up, without giving Ellena a chance to speak again.
***
"What the hell is Lucas just giving me such a short amount of time? He thought bathing, changing clothes and making over didn't take time?" Ellena was grumbling incessantly while polishing her face with a little powder.
She seemed very in a hurry to do her activities in front of the mirror. This is evident from her hands that are so agile to touch some parts of her face. Finally, she did a touch on her plump lips using nude lipstick, thus making her beauty look even more perfect.
"Seriously. One hour is just enough to make up and get to the destination. Then, after that I have to go home again, right?" said Ellena annoyed, then spread the lipstick by pressing the upper and lower lips repeatedly.
After finishing dressing up, she immediately grabbed a black mini sling bag. She then went out of her room into the living room and sat on the sofa that was located there.
"Just watch! Even after I finished and left, I still had to wait for the pick-up driver to be sent by him. It just took up more of my time!" annoyed Ellena grumbled again.
Ellena slightly raised her right hand, then looked at the watch that was coiled there. Another harsh snort came out of her mouth, as she realized that it had been more than 15 minutes of time she had just wasted.
"Why did Lucas' driver take so long?" Ellena changed her sitting position by crossing her left leg over her right while looking outside the house, the door was wide open at that time.
Not long after, there was the sound of a car rumbling in yard of her house. Ellena was already able to confirm who was coming. She immediately got up and left the house.
A black car owned by Lucas seemed to have been parked in the yard. Ellena immediately approached the car with a little rush. However, she was immediately surprised and stopped her steps, when she found someone who got off the car.
"Lucas?" Ellena was slightly stunned for a moment, then stepped back slowly while looking at Lucas in surprise.
"Sorry for making you wait so long," said Lucas who was already standing in front of the car, right after Ellena stood in front of him.
"Why did you pick me up? Didn't you tell that your driver would pick me up?" Ellena was still staring at Lucas in surprise.
"It was like that at first, but now that I think about it, it looks like you should go with me." Lucas lifted the corner of his lips while looking at Ellena's face flatly. I don't know what that expression means.
"What for?" asked Elena curiously.
How could Lucas dare to leave work, just to accompany her for a walk? Ah, that's really a very unusual thing. Hasn't Lucas always filled his time with work? In fact, he barely had time to just go for a hangout or traveling. However, why now he prefers to do these unimportant activities, compared to working which every second can make money? It's really hard to believe.
"It seems that I also need a lot of refreshing, so I decided to go with you this afternoon," Lucas replied looking so relaxed.
"But—"
"Let's go!" asked Lucas when Ellena was about to protest. The man then opened the car door and invited Ellena to enter.
Ellena walked slowly towards the car door that was already wide open, without taking her eyes off Lucas' face. Wonder, of course. She was still surprised by Lucas's current attitude.
'Then why was he arguing with me, if he was going to take me himself?' Ellena thought, starting to wonder. 'Ah, looks like my plan won't go well. Yes, of course. How can I have fun when he's around me all the time?'
Ellena took a deep breath, before finally landing her body in the front seat of the car, right beside the steering wheel. She didn't want to say much more. Most importantly, at least she could get out of the house, gazing back at the beauty of the world in the afternoon. Though maybe it won't be as beautiful as she previously imagined.
Three minutes later, Lucas' car pulled out of the mansion's yard.
"Where are you going?" Lucas turned his head to the side, looking at Ellena who seemed to be looking straight ahead.
"Up to you!" replied Ellena in a curt tone.
"Okay, I'll take you somewhere." Lucas turned his attention back to the front.
'Oh my God ... why is he so annoying. Even if I quipped, he still looks normal. Doesn't he know that I answered like that because I was annoyed with him?' Ellena complained in her heart while glaring at Lucas in annoyance.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Lucas, who noticed Ellena's scornful gaze, immediately protested. It seemed, he still hadn't realized Ellena's annoyance towards him.
Ellena took a deep breath, then leaned her back against the back of the car seat. "I want to eat at 'warteg." She said, then looking ahead.
"What?" Lucas jumped and immediately stopped the car at that moment. Luckily the streets were deserted. "Warteg?" He looked at Ellena questioningly and in disbelief.
Ellena turned back to Lucas. "Yes, warteg! Do you know warteg? It's a small food stall that serves home-cooked meals at affordable prices?" asked Ellen to confirm. "I'd like to eat there. The food is delicious, cheap, and rarely found in fancy restaurants."
"No, I won't!" Lucas refused without caring about Ellena's wishes.
"Lucas, come on ... I really miss my mother's cooking. That's the reason why I really want to eat at warteg." Ellena suddenly whined, begging Lucas to grant her wish.
"B-but—"
"Or do you choose, do you want to eat at the warteg or take me to my mother's house?" Ellena interrupted while giving Lucas two choices. It was clear that Lucas was increasingly given two choices which he thought were very difficult.
"Are you crazy, huh?" Lucas glared at Ellena. How could he possibly choose one of the two options that Ellena gave him.
"Yeah, I've been crazy for missing my mom's cooking so much," Ellena replied casually, then faced back to the front while folding her arms over her chest.. It seemed, she was still giggling at her will, not even bothered by Lucas' refusal at the time.
