Chapter 701: Moving Up A Year
Chapter 701: Moving Up A Year
"Hey, hey… She's the one, isn't it?"
"Yeah… I heard they call her The Untouchable in her first year…"
"Really? I thought she was known as The Invincible?"
"I heard it was supposed to be Amrap Tamer."
"No, no. My brother studies here and I definitely heard him call her Heartbreaker."
"She looks so cool though…"
I was trying my hardest to ignore the whispers coming from my right and the stares from my fellow second years as I attended the initiation ceremony for the first year students.
Don't look at me! I didn't even know I was given all these weird titles! Look, I can prove it!

Also, why are you thrusting your chest out like you're proud of hearing all that, Odeta? The Amrap they claim I've tamed is you, you know? Shouldn't you say something?
No wait… I think she would just say that they're right about it because I'm stronger than her or something… Even though her strength stat is higher than mine…

Yeah, she's pretty much a strength build character… And I was right about her being proud…
Anyway… Ignoring all the whispers coming from the first year students, I found myself still coming to terms with the fact that I was now a second year student.
Time really flew by quickly eh?
Actually no, that's a goddamn lie. Last year felt so goddamn long and so many bullshit things happened during the year too.
I was admitted to school, got involved in some demon summoning, there was the time I got shipwrecked, then that training camp as well where I even got to visit two different countries.
And all that just from one school year? Can I please have a quieter year this time? I just want to relax now, ok? Just let me graduate from here quietly while I eat all the sweets I want for the rest of my time in this school!
That's not too much to ask right?
You know what, I'm just going to go home after school everyday and laze around for the rest of the day for the entirety of this year! No exploring, no training, just lazing around all day!!
…
Yeah, I can't see myself doing that… I'll probably get bored within the first week and go right back to exploring again…
Hey! It's not my fault that this World has so many different varieties of sweets! I just want to try them all, ok? Anyone would do the same in my shoes as well!
Just look at all the other Off-Worlders I've met so far! They're all making the best out of their second chances in life!
I almost let out a sigh at the thought but I managed to hold it in since I was reminded of where I was at the moment.
There were still quite a number of students all around with their eyes on me.
We were waiting for the principal to be done with her speech so the first year Special Class Students could do their introductions and announce their challenges.
I still can't believe just a year ago, I was in that position up there announcing my challenge to everyone. Now, it was my turn to listen to the newcomers issue their own challenge instead.
Not that it mattered to me since students in different years can't challenge each other after all. I only need to worry about students in my own year challenging me.
So far, aside from that one challenge I received, I have not been getting anymore challenges and I doubt I would receive any this year either.
At least, that's what I hope so… I did set those rather outrageous limits to keep people from challenging me too much.
I know for a fact that the other Special Class students in my year had been receiving multiple challenges though they have not lost yet, that's why I see familiar faces seated in the same row as I was.
"And now, may I invite new Special Class students of our esteemed first years onto the stage?" Principal Dawn clapped which shook me out of my thoughts.
The students seated on the first row stood up and started marching up the stage in a single file under the gaze of everyone else in the hall.
Just like how I remembered, they started to introduce themselves and state their specialties as well as their challenge one by one.
Most of them basically were proficient in a specific type of magic up to the second tier so their challenges were based around defeating them using that magic which was no surprise.
There were a few outliers where the challenge was to beat them in a game of chess or something similar in order to earn their positions and even one whose challenge was to basically beat him in a popularity contest or something.
To summarise, they were basically normal students so I don't think any of them were Off-Worlders.
I'm pretty sure there were at least a few Off-Worlders around within the school but none of them have approached me and I never bothered to go find them either.
It feels like everyone had their own spheres of influence within the school and we were just being careful not to intrude on one another.
Speaking of intruding… I overheard that Delmare had been getting quite a bit of attention from the other students as well.
If I wasn't wrong, there were even a few guys who tried propositioning her for some casual flings and I had to remind myself that the norm of this World was that sex between two consensual partners was normal.
Not everyone knew that Delmare was exclusively mine at this point so they did not mean any offence when they suggested it.
Otherwise… I would have gone there and beat them up myself.
Naturally, Delmare was turning all of them down and most of them got the idea that she wasn't interested.
There were a few upperclassmen who were a bit more stubborn about it however and were still trying to pursue her even till this day. That was a problem that I felt I needed to deal with but Delmare assured me that she would be able to deal with it.
Ironically, Lisa was also facing this 'problem' as well.
There were a number of older students and even graduates that have been trying to approach her to seduce her into bed.
For my Infrid's case in particular, I was more concerned for the people trying to seduce her than the other way around because I know for a fact that Lisa was just letting it happen so that she could find a new victim for her fetish.
The silver lining for that was the fact that she is very selective with her victims so she wasn't just going to use the next person who came along for her cucking fetish.
Besides… It seems like she was more focused on her alchemy after I told her about that potion during the training camp.
She had even gone to the Dungeon on her own to gather more materials for her studies. That's how I knew she was really taking this seriously.
Once again, I was brought out of my thoughts when Principal Dawn gave the closing speech where she welcomed all of us to the new school year and wished everyone the best for our studies ahead.
I guess I'm officially a second year student now. Yay~
