Chapter 731: Where To Start The Search
Chapter 731: Where To Start The Search
Well… It was Creday which meant that I was heading out to start my side quest of looking for those Off-Worlders now.
Just for the record… I ended up having sex with not only Lisa and Delmare, but Emilia also joined in to give me head just so that she could secure more dragon parts before I left.
I won't go into detail how that went because… Well… Emilia really, really wanted those dragon parts so she may or may not have got me to orgasm more than Lisa did…
And for whatever reason, Lisa seemed quite happy that was the case.
Speaking of which… Lisa definitely used her potions because she was completely insatiable throughout the weekend… I just don't know which potion she used.
Anyway… After saying my farewells to the other girls, Mary opened a portal for me to jump through which would send me straight to the outskirts of East Border Fort, one of the easternmost forts to border the Nekinumi Kingdom on our side.
With just my Pack of Folding on my back, I went through the portal and stepped out into a room which surprised me somewhat.
I was expecting to appear outdoors, not indoors.
When I looked around me, I realised there was a Waystone behind me, which would be something Grey Walkers use to teleport around this World.
Ah… I guess Mary must have chosen this spot to make it look like I had travelled here using the In Between Planes with a Grey Walker to draw less attention to myself.
Sure enough, this place seemed like a hub of sorts and there were others who were also making use of the Waystone to teleport, which meant literally no one even paid attention to me when I stepped out from the portal.
Interestingly… There's not only Mahuns here but also a mix of other races too. In fact, it looks like Mahuns are the minority here.
Aside from Nekomatas and Inugamis, there were also Wrunchs, Amraps, Rizzies and even Trasifs.
Although… I noted that all the Trasifs were females for some reason?
Well, not like it's any of my business anyway so I just went ahead to step into the hub after the portal closed behind me.
I was wearing my adventuring clothes so to anyone else, I would look like a Mercenary or an Adventurer which should help me blend in.
There was a small line in front of the Waystone and it seemed like everyone had to report to someone at the counter to leave this area.
I joined the line and it moved fairly quickly so I did not need to wait for long before it was my turn.
The guy took one look at me and asked, "Location of arrival?"
I figured he must be asking where I came from.
"Crown Capital City."
He jotted down the city name on the notepad in front of him, "Name?"
"Aster."
He wrote that as well before gesturing me through.
Well… That was surprisingly easy?
I was just thinking that this felt rather lax until I realised there was a mage standing behind him and watching the crowd carefully.
I'm guessing he must be using [Analyze] to check on the people walking through here.
His gaze did linger on me longer than the others but I wasn't too worried since he shouldn't be able to see my title and full name anyway.
And sure enough, I managed to pass through that checkpoint without anyone stopping me.
The hub itself kind of reminded me of those train stations where people were gathered to catch their trains except this place functioned using teleporters.
Heck, they even had small stalls set up inside the hub where the stalls were selling a variety of stuff including food and drinks.
I'm guessing those people hanging around those stalls might be Grey Walkers looking to be hired to transport people to other Waystones.
I stepped out of the hub and found myself along a path that stretched towards the left and right.
The left path went straight on before disappearing over a hill while the right path went towards the fort that was my supposed destination.
Seems like the hub was located on the outskirts instead of within the fort itself.
When I first heard about this fort, I thought it might just be a single castle and maybe walls stretching along the border to repel invaders.
But while I got the walls correct, it seems like the place was more like a walled town than just a simple fort.
If I wasn't wrong, back when the Lehcarouc Kingdom was at war with the Nekinumi Kingdom, this place was a military fort that they used to stage assaults and defences against them.
But I guess after years of peace, they transformed that military fort into a border town instead of just abandoning or demolishing it.
I guess the place functioned as a rest stop and checkpoint for people travelling to and from Nekinumi Kingdom.
I started walking towards the fort itself, joining the stream of people coming from and going to the fort as well.
Once again, I noticed that there were significantly fewer Mahuns as compared to the other races.
I would have thought I wasn't in the Lehcarouc Kingdom anymore if it wasn't because of the fact that the soldiers and guards patrolling the area were Mahuns.
I easily blended in by following behind a group of Nekomatas and Inugamis whom I guessed must be Mercenaries from the way they were dressed.
From the hub, it was a short ten minute walk which was shorter than the Waystone at Johtaenilm Port City where we needed to hire that wolf taxi service to reach the city.
Over at the gates was another inspection where Mahun guards checked everyone entering and leaving the walled town.
I managed to pass through the gates without issues and I beheld the town in front of me.
Frankly speaking, it wasn't really that big.
The town itself had not built out of the walls so every building was contained inside the walls.
There was one main street stretching from the gate I had just entered to the other gate on the other side of the town. Along this path, there were maybe twenty or so buildings with smaller paths forking out at regular intervals to other parts of the town.
At the middle mark of the path, another slightly wider path forked away to head towards a small mansion where I guessed must house the local lord of this fort.
In total, I would say there's only about forty or so houses here which brings the rough population here to a few hundred at most.
I'm of course, not counting the people who are only here for a stopover who don't actually live here.
That means I have a few hundred people to screen through to try and find the Off-Worlder…
Damn… Where do I even start?
This place was certainly bigger than I expected and I doubt I would be able to just sit on the street and use [Screened] on everyone that passes by to check if they have the Off-Worlder title on them…
Ok… Let me think… If I was an Off-Worlder planning to start a war between the Nekinumi Kingdom and the Lehcarouc Kingdom, where would I hide myself?
I looked at the buildings located along the street.
Most of them were inns though there were a few shops scattered in between as well. While the inns were run by Mahuns, I noted that most of the stalls were run by people of other races instead.
Hmm… If I am not wrong… These Off-Worlders would most likely find turning themselves into another race to be disgusting to them. The way that guy reacted to Sister Justinia being a futanari kind of confirmed that they were mostly stuck in their own beliefs and unaccepting of others which helped me narrow down my search radius.
So that means I'm looking for a Mahun who is either a male or female…
Ok, that doesn't really narrow that down by much but I guess it's something…
Damnit… This isn't helping much… I didn't even come up with much of a plan since I literally spent the whole weekend making love with those three girls… Not that I would complain about that, of course.
Ughh… Ok, ok… Let's just narrow things down a bit… Assuming the Off-Worlder is actually here, they should have only arrived recently and they would be staying here for an extended amount of time.
That also means that they would need a way to support themselves financially since they would look suspicious if they weren't seen working in any job while still being able to stay here for a long amount of time.
I'm guessing they should also be staying at an inn since they aren't local here and they most likely don't sell the limited houses here to people they don't know.
Of course, I could be completely wrong about this but I'm going to operate on this hypothesis for now since this gives me a place where I could start my search.
In other words, I'm going to the nearest bar to listen to the gossip!
