Chapter 882 More Monster Girls
Chapter 882 More Monster Girls
"Ara, ara~ It looks like there's a lot of zombies, my little one. What should we do?" Mother asked with mock concern in her voice.
I tilted my head at Mother, "Eh? Are we not going to kill them like we did with the skeletons?"
"Ufufufu~ We could~ But that would mean my little one would have to wade through zombie corpses wouldn't it? I'm sure my little one finds that idea as abhorrent as Mama does?"
Ugh…. That's true… I definitely don't want zombie guts all over me…
"In that case… We just shoot spells at them?" I suggested.
Mother giggled, "Ufufufu~ I suppose we can do that~ What spells would my little one like to use?"
"Umm… I'm not sure…"
By the way, the only reason why Mother and I could talk so casually in front of these monsters was because these zombies were of the slow shambling kind.
From the time we started our discussion, the zombies only moved several steps closer to us.
Mother turned to the zombies, "Fufufufu~ In that case, how about Mama try something?"
I tilted my head, "What is it?"
"Ufufufu~ Like this~"
Mother pulled back her hand that wasn't holding me and black lightning started to gather in her palm.
The black lightning ball started to get bigger and bigger until it was the size of a soccer ball before suddenly shrinking down to the size of a pea before she thrusted her palm forward.
A black bolt of lightning streaked forward and struck the first zombie.
The zombie that was struck by the lightning spasmed as lightning arced off its body and it started to float up into the air.
The streaks of lightning got thicker and thicker until all of a sudden, the zombie popped out of existence.
Err… That's it?
I mean… With all that buildup, I was expecting something more?
Right as that thought came to mind, the black ball of lightning suddenly reappeared in the space that the zombie had occupied before.
It charged itself up for a moment before a sudden thunderclap could be heard and the black lightning streaked across the space in front of us.
There was a chorus of groans from the zombies before the entire horde disintegrated instantly, leaving only their Mana Crystals behind.
That. Is. So. Coooooooooool~
I turned to Mother, "Mommy? Can I learn that magic?"
"Ufufufu~ I'm afraid that would be a little bit difficult for you right now, my little one~ Perhaps after you have graduated~"
I felt a little disappointed but oh well, at least there was still a chance!
Right as we were about to continue towards the stairs however, a portal suddenly appeared in the air and someone dropped through it to land in front of the stairs to block our way.
When the figure stood up, I realised it was another girl wearing a black coloured, full plate armour that covered every inch of her body and only leaving her face open.
And when I say black, I really meant black as it looked like it was melding with the shadows.
She was already quite tall with her being about a full head taller than I was and yet, she still had a spear that was even longer than she was tall.
At first, I thought that she was just another Dungeoneer or something but I somehow got the feeling that this wasn't the case.
Thus, I went ahead to use [Screened] on her.
[Name: Dark Armour Knight

So she's another Monster Girl I see… Most likely she was created by the Dungeon master here.
She hefted her spear and pointed the tup at us threateningly, "Intruders… State your purpose here."
Mother gave the Monster Girl a look, "Ara? We are here to challenge it of course."
"Why do you seek to challenge this Dungeon?"
"Hmm? To seek an audience with the master of this Dungeon of course~"
"I see. In that case, prove your worth to me, intruders!"
She lowered herself into a combat stance, holding her spear with both hands as she levelled her weapon at us.
Mother turned to me, "Ara, ara~ Does my little one wish to fight her?"
I blinked at Mother, "Umm… Are you sure about this, Mommy?"
Before Mother could respond, the Dark Armour Knight interrupted, "'Mommy'? What are the two of you taking this place for? This is a Dungeon where the strong come here to challenge and prove themselves to seek an audience with my Master! It is not a place for a family outing!"
"Ufufufu~ It seems like this one is a little belligerent~ Go ahead and teach her a lesson my little one~ Mama will support you!"
Err… Ok?
I guess if Mother is supporting me, I should be fine, right? I mean… This Monster Girl has higher strength and endurance than I do but I should still be able to out manoeuvre her with my speed?
Mother finally let go of my hand, allowing me to face the Monster Girl in front of me on my own while she cheered from behind.
The Dark Armour Knight was obviously not amused to see me standing in front of her and she scowled at me, "I will not be insulted this way. I will give you a chance to turn around and leave instead of continuing this farce."
I ignored her and settled myself into my own stance, raising up my fists in preparation to fight her.
"Last warning," She growled at me.
"For someone who was so eager to fight, you talk too much," I pointed out.
"And for someone so weak, you seem eager to die."
"Are you here to talk or are you here to fight? It sounds like you're just trying to run now."
That seemed to hit a nerve as she stepped forward without hesitation and did a spear thrust at my head.
I only needed to lean back a little to move out of her range, the spear just stopping short of me before the Dark Armour Knight pulled it back.
She was obviously surprised that I managed to avoid the spear thrust and I could see her reevaluating my threat in her eyes right now.
She took two steps forward and attempted another spear thrust, only for me to avoid it once again since I could see the spear coming at me easily.
While I was faster than her and could easily dodge her blows, I wasn't too keen on attacking her since she was still stronger than I am and that armour looked really tough.
I stealthily materialised my Shadow Sword in my right hand, the sword itself being invisible given the current lighting conditions.
I continued to dodge and weave through the Dark Armour Knight's spear thrust and I was hoping that she would grow frustrated and give me an opening.
But either because she did not mind her attacks failing repeatedly or she also had a plan, she did not seem to be riled up at all from this.
On the other hand, I could feel myself growing a little annoyed by this and I decided to just try my luck instead.
When she attempted to skewer me in the chest again, I sidestepped it and grabbed it by the shaft, allowing her to pull me towards her when she tried to retrieve her spear again.
I then slashed my invisible blade at her arm but the sword bounced off her armour with a resounding 'clang'.
While she was surprised by what appeared to be an invisible attack, she quickly recovered and swung the butt end of her spear towards my head.
I braced myself for the blow only to see a dark ball appear in the air to block the blow, deflecting the attack away with enough force to send the Monster Girl stumbling back a few steps.
I didn't even need to ask to know that Mother was responsible for this and I turned back to see her smiling like a Cheshire cat.
Right… I guess this was the support she was talking about.
In that case…
I completely gave up on defense and started strolling towards the Dark Armour Knight.
She frowned at me and tried to impale my chest with her spear again, only for the same dark ball to appear in the way to send her stumbling back once more.
I didn't even slow down as I just continued walking towards her casually, not even bothering to try and protect myself.
Each time she tried to attack me, the black ball would deflect the blow away and she would stumble back like she was the one that got struck instead.
Now, I could see her face dissolving into desperation as she even tried to punch me instead but met a similar outcome.
Ok… Is it bad that I actually thought this was hilarious? Because I think it is.
