Chapter 398 You’re a Coward

The two children woke up early and walked around the Stewart’s house.

Their ability to adapt was far beyond what Shirley had expected. They lived happily in a completely unfamiliar environment, just like the little masters of the Stewart’s house.

“What are you two little guys doing? Why didn’t you say good morning to me when you got up?”

Shirley found that they were standing next to the yellow fruit tree in front of the villa and looking up at the treetops with their feet on the ground.

“Mommy, come quickly. Look, the birdies must be hungry. They are shouting all the time, and their mouths. are wide open!”

Alisha hurriedly ran toward Shirley, pulled her hand, and pointed to the four little birds in the nest. Alisha was worried.

“Squeak! Squeak!”

In the nest, four little birds that had just grown some hair made weak and helpless sounds.

They were too small and had yet to open their eyes. They all opened their mouths and waited for their mother to feed them.

“They must be hungry. Let’s hurry up and get them something to eat!”

Shirley looked at the little birds that were chirping and couldn’t help but feel a little sympathetic.

“But what do little birds like to eat?”

Bennett asked calmly.

“Little birds should be eating caterpillars or something like that?”

Shirley took out her phone and started searching.

Shirley had never raised a bird before, but she had to raise four at once. It was quite a task!

After Shirley searched for a few bird-raising articles, she suddenly felt confident and said to Bennett and Alisha, “Yes, young birds usually eat the insects found by the mother birds. Let’s go catch some insects!”

“Yeah! Let’s catch the insects!”

The two little guys were very happy and raised their hands in agreement.

They grew up on the island and were very close to nature. They were capable of anything.

The Stewart’s house occupied a large area and had high greenery. There were flowers and-trees everywhere, so the three of them quickly caught a lot of caterpillars and put them in boxes.

They returned to the yellow fruit tree. Because the bird’s nest was a bit high, Shirley moved a ladder.

“Alisha, give me the box. I will feed them insects.”

Shirley climbed up the ladder and said to Alisha, who was holding the box.

“Okay, Mommy, here you go!”

Alisha stood on tiptoe, stretched out her small arms, and handed it to Shirley.

At this time, Braden came out and asked them curiously, “What are you doing?”

“Daddy, we are feeding the little birds. Come over and take a look. They look so cute when they eat!”

Alisha waved at Braden enthusiastically.

“Really?”

Braden couldn’t help but smile as he quickly walked to the tree.

With a pair of tweezers in her hand, Shirley picked up a black caterpillar and stuffed it into Birdie No.1’s mouth.

Birdie No.1 stretched out its neck, smacking its lips as it ate.

“Squeak! Squeak!”

Birdie No.2, Birdie No.3, and Birdie No.4 cried out even more when they saw this. They all stretched out their necks and moved closer to the side of Shirley’s hand, treating Shirley like their mother.

“Hey, don’t worry, one by one. We have enough food for you today!”

The more Shirley looked at these bird babies, the more she felt they were cute, just like how she looked at her children. She was stimulated to release a strong maternal love.

Shirley was looking forward to the day when these baby birds grew wings and soared through the sky.

“Shirley, what are you feeding them?”

Braden stood under the tree, raised his head slightly, and asked Shirley softly.

“Huh?”

When Shirley heard Braden’s voice, she turned to look at him.

The sunlight shone through the gaps between the tree and on Braden’s perfect face. Braden was like a male lead who came out of a fairy tale with the warmth of summer, looking so handsome.

“Daddy, we are feeding Birdie No.1 and the others to the caterpillars. They like to eat!”

Alisha enthusiastically introduced them to Braden and said proudly, “Let me tell you, these caterpillars were personally caught by me, Mommy, and Brother…”

“Ca… Caterpillars?”

Braden couldn’t help but swallow and his scalp began to tingle.

Braden was not afraid of anything in his life, but he was afraid of squirming mollusks, especially caterpillars.

They were so terrifying that Braden would have nightmares at a glance

“Yes, do you like caterpillars? Next time when we prepare food for the birdies, why don’t you come with us to

catch caterpillars?”

Alisha blinked her big round eyes and actively invited Braden.

“I’m fine, thanks!”

Braden smiled awkwardly and rejected Alisha’s enthusiastic invitation.

Bennett smiled coldly and glanced at the man with disdain. “Coward. You’re so strong, yet you’re afraid of bugs!”

Braden couldn’t keep his cool any longer. He stubbornly held back and said, “Who said I was scared? I was just too busy and didn’t have time to catch them.”

As a father, Braden had to establish a good image in front of the two children. He could not let them find out that he was actually afraid of the little bug. Otherwise, it would be too shameful!

“I don’t believe it. You are a coward who is even afraid of bugs. You can’t protect Mommy and my sister at all It is the wisest decision that Mommy made to leave you!”

Bennett crossed his arms coolly and scolded Braden without a change in expression. It was simply hurting.

Braden had never suffered such humiliation before, and the one who insulted him was his own son. Braden was outraged.

“Little brat, listen up. With my skills, I have more than enough to protect your mother and you. I used to train in the jungles and fought the tiger with my bare hands!”

“Fighting the tiger with my bare hands? You must be kidding!”

Bennett, who just tried to anger Braden, said lightly, “You can fight a tiger with your bare hands, but you don’t dare to catch insects with your bare hands. In other words, you are even worse than insects, and you still have the nerve to say that you can protect our mother and us. What a joke!”

“I have told you that I am not afraid of insects…”

Braden simply felt that the squirming mollusks were disgusting.

“If you are not afraid of bugs, do you dare to do the same as my mommy and use tweezers to feed the insects to the baby bird?

“If you dare, I believe that you are really not afraid!”

Bennett urged Braden step by step, causing Braden to feel embarrassed.

Braden thought to himself, brat, you really are my biological son. You are even more scheming than me!

“That’s so funny!”

Shirley was on the ladder, looking at Braden being embarrassed by Bennett and being forced to retreat. She was happy and amused.

“Braden, Ben is right. If you really have the guts, feed these birds. If you don’t dare, admit that you are a coward!”

She stood high up in the air and provoked Braden with a smile.

Braden felt so humiliated that he threatened, “Just wait, Shirley!”

“I’m done?”

Shirley laughed hysterically. She looked at the man mischievously and waved her finger. “No, no, no. Mr. Stewart, you’re done.”

As she spoke, the little black caterpillar she was holding with tweezers just dropped and happened to fall on Braden’s collar.

“Ah, it’s so disgusting. Get rid of it. Get rid of it!”

Braden collapsed instantly, as if he had become a stone. He stood still and did not dare to move. He yelled as his scalp tingled.

“Oh, I’m sorry, Mr. Stewart. My hand just trembled and the caterpillar dropped…”

Shirley suppressed her laughter and came down from the ladder, saying teasingly to the man who was about to go crazy. “Don’t worry. It won’t hurt you. It’s just squirming on your collar to exercise!”

Braden’s handsome face darkened as he warned, “Shirley, I order you to get rid of this stupid thing immediately. Otherwise, you’re dead!”

Shirley crossed her arms, staring at the man flying into a rage powerlessly. She grinned disdainfully, “Mr. Stewart, how can you be so fierce at the moment? Didn’t you say that you weren’t afraid of bugs? Why don’t you just get rid of it yourself?”

“Damn it!”

Braden stood stiffly on the spot. He didn’t even dare to look in the direction of the caterpillar, not to mention get rid of it. He started to itch faintly all over, afraid that the caterpillar would crawl into his clothes.

Helpless, he could only temporarily lower himself and say to Shirley in a low voice, “Indeed, I’m afraid of bugs. Just tell me, what do I have to do so that you can get this disgusting thing rid of me? Hurry up!”

“You should have said that earlier. Then we wouldn’t have to waste so much time!”

Shirley nodded, very satisfied that this man knew when to eat humble pie and when to hold his head high.

If she had known that she could deal with this guy with only one caterpillar, she would not have been humiliated for so many years.

The two kids were looking on aside.

Alisha directly hit Braden’s sore spot. She said in a childish voice, “Pretty Daddy, I’m not even afraid of such a small worm. How can you be afraid of it? You are really a coward!”

Bennett added, “Hmph, as I said, this bad guy only has a good appearance. He is actually a coward!”

Braden had no time to maintain his dignity. He impatiently urged Shirley, “Hurry up!”

“Don’t worry, I’m thinking of a way for you!”
