Chapter 151

Indeed, Alastor had previously frozen Anastasia’s card to prevent her from using it on Jason.

“Okay,” Anastasia said quietly.

With Anastasia’s sudden compliance, Alastor felt uneasy.

“You’re allowed to get angry with me… You can be yourself.” In the past, Alastor preferred Anastasia to be obedient and rational. Now, he realized that he didn’t mind when Anastasia was angry.

Instead, he began to feel that Anastasia used to be somewhat artificial, deliberately acting sensibly to get closer to him. “Whether it’s money you desire or anything else, share your genuine thoughts with me. I’ll fulfill your wishes,” Alastor simply wished for Anastasia to unveil her authentic self.

“Really?” Anastasia slowly withdrew her hand from Alastor’s grip.

She thought, “In his mind, is my true self just about being calculating, cunning, materialistic, and extravagant? Is that the true essence?”

“Perhaps I’ve worn the mask for so long that I don’t even remember my true self anymore,” Anastasia whispered.

“I don’t care about anything else, but I really hope you’ll come to this art exhibition.” Anastasia only had this one small wish.

It was her farewell ceremony.

She hoped that Alastor could see her paintings.

After four years of marriage, almost all her works were related to Alastor.

Because he had become her core and a guiding light in her life.

Nevertheless, the light was off now.

Even so, Anastasia still hoped that Alastor would understand her.

Buzz! Alastor’s phone kept ringing.

Alastor gave it a quick look, furrowed his brow, and promptly ended the call.

Anastasia glanced at Alastor.

“It’s Felicia…” Alastor said directly, obviously impatient.

“Give me the phone.” Anastasia reached out for Alastor’s phone.

Alastor hesitated for a moment. “She… She’s pregnant. You’d better not upset her,” he said.

Anastasia’s hand froze in place. Alastor was indeed a good person.

Anastasia slowly lowered her hand and said, “Then deal with it on your own. I’ll leave first.”

“Anastasia, are you upset?” Alastor caught up with her.

Anastasia shook her head. “No.”

“You’re lying,” Alastor said, not wanting Anastasia to leave.

“Yes, I’m angry!” Anastasia gazed at Alastor with emotion. “You said you wanted to continue being together with me. Now we’re a married couple, and Felicia is the mistress!”

Alastor was taken aback for a moment and handed the phone to Anastasia.

Anastasia was also stunned. She wondered, “Did Alastor really allow me to answer the phone?”

Anastasia was surprised that he had done this.

Anastasia took Alastor’s phone and answered the call.

“Alastor, my stomach hurts. Come and help me,” Felicia said on the other end of the phone, mentioning that she had a stomachache.

She probably knew that Alastor felt guilty.

“Alastor is not a doctor. Call 911 and don’t delay getting medical attention,” Anastasia spoke solemnly.

When Anastasia was humiliated by Alastor and Felicia at the dinner party, she probably did not expect that there would be

a chance for revenge.

But even so, Anastasia’s heart remained unaffected.

It seemed that she did not have much pleasure.

On the other end of the phone, Felicia was stunned. She suspected that she had heard it wrong. “Anastasia?”

“If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up now. I wouldn’t want to waste your time with a 911 call,” Anastasia sneered.

On the other side of the phone, Felicia reacted and started screaming. Her voice was so sharp that it made Anastasia’s ears hurt.

Anastasia hung up the phone and returned it to Alastor.

Alastor took his phone and Felicia called back within a few seconds.

Alastor glanced at Anastasia subconsciously.

“Can’t you just block her?” Anastasia said casually.

Alastor decided to block Felicia after he thought for a moment.

Anastasia was quite surprised, wondering whether Alastor had been possessed by someone else. “What made you decide that?” she asked.

“I want to try believing in you…” Alastor averted his gaze.

Perhaps, it was Xavier’s matter that had triggered Alastor.

He had investigated the nude photo incident and confirmed that it was indeed unrelated to Anastasia.

However, Alastor had believed what Sienna said before this.

“What a surprise.” Anastasia sneered. “Let’s see how long you can hold on.”

She wondered, “How long can this trust last?”

Anastasia knew she would be disappointed, but she still wanted to see how long Alastor’s sudden change could last.
