He strode slowly into the hustling small town and he went up the first floor as he arrived at the tallest restaurant in the area.

Although the ground floor was too packed, the second floor was too empty. So, only the first floor was the most suitable.

There were not many people as only five tables were occupied. Due to the wide gap between the tables, it was quiet. It seemed that the owner of this place had taken the customers’ feelings into account.

Chu Li ordered a table full of dishes as he wanted to discern the differences between Li Dynasty and Fu Dynasty’s dishes.

He used the Omniscient Mirror on everyone on the first floor. Four tables were filled and there was one person similar to him, drinking alone by himself. He was tall and had long hair, looked handsome and indifferent as if he was not interested in what was happening around him.

He donned a dark-blue robe and had a longsword by his waist. Chu Li could tell that his ancient, gorgeous looking longsword was no ordinary Emerald Tipped Sword — it was a treasure sword. Just by judging the purity of his hand, Chu Li could tell that he was a swordmaster.

Unfortunately, he did not know much about the Fu Dynasty. Hence, he could only guess slowly and had yet tell which faction he was from.

Chu Li noticed that the guy was checking him out discreetly as well. After all, he could not hide his identity away from an experienced man with his robe and calming aura. However, it was fortunate that they could not tell how strong he was.

It was hard for outsiders to assess his true strength since he had the Maha-Vairocana’s Immobility Scripture. They could only tell that he was strong but they could not tell just how strong he was.

“Sigh... Officer Zheng is so unfortunate!”

“There’s nothing we can do about it. No one told him to mess with the Church of the Divine Blood!”

“Her beauty is the cause of everything. Zheng Family’s daughter is simply too beautiful. Everyone believed that she would be married to a capable man and Officer Zheng would be able to promote along as well. Who would’ve thought that he would be in such trouble!”

“In my opinion, Officer Zheng is way too stubborn. He has so little power and yet he wants to do something out of his league. He should’ve allowed his daughter to get married since he would have gotten someone powerful to back him as well. Why did he have to refuse the marriage?”

“That Hu Qiming has no good intention at all. He was after the daughter’s beauty and Officer Zheng would be jumping into a pit of fire if she were to marry him. Nothing good will come out of this.”

“Isn’t it better for him to jump into a fire pit than to just die?”

“Sigh... Officer Zheng used his emotions to deal with the matter and he was very insistent. I’m very impressed with his dignity but, sadly, I can’t be of any help.”

“Rumor has it that Officer Zheng had invited a few friends for help but none of them agreed. It’s sad now that I think about it!”

“If it was someone else, perhaps Officer Zheng’s friends could still help him out. However, nobody would dare to help him to go against the Church of the Divine Blood!”

“Sigh... Who would dare to go against the Church of the Divine Blood? Officer Zheng is so unlucky. Who would’ve thought that Hu Qiming has an uncle in the Church of the Divine Blood? The Heaven has turned a blind eye on this for Officer Zheng is a great man!”

“What’s the use of being a kind man. You’re prone to die earlier if you do more good as of late. You can live longer if you’re the villain!”

“Who says!”

“Bam!” The lonely youngster, who was drinking by himself, slammed the table.

Everyone immediately looked over.

The youngster with the sword looked at the table of people who were discussing in front of him. “My four seniors, may I know who Officer Zheng is?”

“Officer Zheng’s full name is Zheng Shoufang.” An Elder caressed his beard as he sighed. “Young man, do you find it unfair?”

“A good person shouldn’t be bullied like this!” the young man muttered.

The elder shook his head and sighed. “We’re very angry as well, but Officer Zheng has offended the Church of the Divine Blood, one of the Eight Big Factions. The Church of the Divine Blood would never show any mercy to their enemies. Whoever dares to help Officer Zheng would not only be committing suicide, they would be dragging their families along as well. Hence, everyone could only swallow their anger and dare not help Officer Zheng!”

“Someone needs to do something eventually. If you guys aren’t going to help him, then I will!” the youngster said coldly. “I want to see just how ruthless the Church of the Divine Blood can be!”

“Hey young man, aren’t you afraid of the Church of the Divine Blood?” The elder caressed his beard as he frowned. “You should think twice about it. A newborn cow isn’t afraid of a tiger, but please think of your family that you’ll drag into. You will still risk your life even if you don’t have any family.”

“I’m afraid they don’t have what it takes to take my life!” the youngster scoffed.

The elder smiled. “Sorry for the disrespect. Are you extremely skilled?”

“Where does Officer Zheng live?” the youngster uttered.

The elder said, “He lives in Natural Well Lane. You’ll know if you ask for directions there.”

Chu Li coughed softly as he gave a fist salute. “I’ve yet to ask you elders. Are we allowed to use martial arts in the city?”

“Naturally.” The elder laughed. “As long as you’re skilled enough to not get caught, you’re free to use martial arts everywhere you like!”

The other elder at the side scoffed. “Hmph. They would immediately hide in their hideouts the instant they hear someone skilled is going to attack someone. Do you think they’ll arrest a martial artist?”

“Let alone the Church of the Divine Blood!”

“Speaking of the Church of the Divine Blood, these guards will immediately turn a blind eye and act as if nothing has happened when they hear of it!”

“All of them have families and that’s the main reason why they don’t dare to go against the Church of the Divine Blood.”

Chu Li frowned. “Does the Church of Divine Blood dare to attack the guards? Isn’t that going against the dynasty?”

“Of course, they won’t go against them in public.” The elder who spoke first shook his head. “They can’t fight against those underhanded tactics as these tactics are technically perfect. They could also gather a few Innate Masters to make the move to make it look like they had targeted the wrong person instead of executing revenge. They can’t do anything to the Church of the Divine Blood.”

“Is the Church of the Divine Blood that lawless?” Chu Li frowned. “Are the remaining seven factions ignoring them?”

“The Church of the Divine Blood is lawless and no one can control them other than Stargazing Pavilion and Goddess Attraction Mountain. However, these two factions’ disciples rarely come out at all!”

“What about Great One Palace, Ultimate Temple, and Sword Moon Sect?”

“They’re all busy with their own stuff and have no time to deal with others.”

Chu Li shook his head.

“I am the disciple of the Ultimate Temple!” the youngster with the longsword muttered. “I’m from the Ultimate Temple and I will not allow the Church of the Divine Blood to do whatever they please!”

“It’s the Ultimate Temple!” The crowd was ecstatic.

“Are you really a disciple from the Ultimate Temple?” one of the elders asked hastily. “I thought that the disciple of the Ultimate Temple rare visited here.”

“I am Zheng Ze of the Ultimate Temple and I will not allow Officer Zheng’s misfortunate to go unanswered!” The youngster with the longsword harrumphed. “I really want to see just how domineering the Church of Divine Blood can be!”

“Alright, Officer Zheng can finally be saved now that a master from the Ultimate Temple is going to help him!” The crowd cheered in happiness.

“Young Hero Zheng, let us cheer for you!” Everyone started to raise their cups.

The Ultimate Temple was seen as a competent rival against the Church of the Divine Blood as both of them were of the Eight Big Factions. While the rest were scared of avenging against the Church of the Divine Blood, the Ultimate Temple was not afraid. Everyone wanted to be a part of the Eight Big Factions but those that could join them were extremely gifted ones.

Zheng Ze waved his hands. “Now is not the time to drink alcohol. I need to see Officer Zheng!”

“That’s right. That matter is more important!” The crowd nodded hastily.

If they had interrupted Zheng Ze to the point where he could not reach Officer Zheng in time due to alcohol, they would be in great remorse.

Zheng Ze fist saluted as he turned around and strode out of the restaurant.

After throwing a silver on the table, Chu Li followed him down the restaurant.

Zheng Ze ignored him as he headed straight to the street.

Still, Chu Li followed him from behind.

He stopped as he arrived at a huge residential building. Zheng Ze turned around and looked at Chu Li, giving him the cold stare. “Who are you and why are you following me?”

Chu Li fist saluted and said, “I’m Du Feng and I wish to assist Officer Zheng as well.”

“Du Feng?” Zheng Ze frowned as he pondered. “Which faction are you from?”

“I’m not in any faction and I’m still a nobody.” Chu Li shook his head. “However, I won’t allow any good man to fall into such a state.”

“Alright... You better not make any move later so that you don’t get into any trouble.” Zheng Ze harrumphed.

Chu Li smiled and remained silent as he fist saluted.
