Wisp! Awaken in the Magical World

Chapter 82: Out of the Valley

Chapter 82: Out of the Valley

Claus was sweating nonstop as the wasps flew near him. "Wh-What is this? Are you con-controlling the Purple Wings Horned Wasps?"

Linfel nodded. "Yes. Because of that, I can't help you with the Water Bubbles. The bubbles need a lot more precision, surprisingly enough. Anyway, there is another hill outside the mist eighty meters ahead and a little to the right. Let's go there first."

Claus and the others could only nod and walk there. Claus was also exausted, so for him to not lose control over the Water Bubbles, they refrained from running. Finally, they began to go up and left the mist of Decayed Magic Energy once again, allowing them to take a look around.

*Gasp, gasp...*

Claus finally let go of the Water Bubbles and sat on the floor, trying to rest. "I don't know how you can control so many Water Bubbles while we move at full speed, Linfel. I'm at a higher level, and I can't do anything as precise as you."

"Who cares about that?" Vera quickly intervened. The wasps were still flying in a circular manner around their group, so she felt quite nervous. "What is this? How are you even controlling them?"

Linfel shrugged, separating himself from Alvin. "It is not as hard as you think. The only problem is that you need to have a Magic Energy precision as good as mine. Otherwise, you can't penetrate the Wasps' Magic Energy channels. But these Wasps' bodies are so simple that once you manage to do it, you can give them orders. It is quite convenient."

Vera had never heard about controlling others, Magic Beasts or not, with Magic Energy. "Magic Energy precision... That is definitely out of my league. I've never seen someone with such incredible control as you."

Milia, now having recovered a little, was still worried. "Linfel, can you keep controlling the wasps for long? What if your Red Magic Energy reserves end?"

Linfel faintly smiled. "Don't worry. Controlling the wasps truly spends almost no Magic Energy whatsoever. As I said, the secret is in the precision, not the amount of Magic Energy. At the moment, I'm not using even a tenth of the Red Magic Energy necessary to control a single Water Bubble around your head. I can recover Magic Energy faster than I spend it."

Julius was taken aback. "You are absorbing this place's Decayed Magic Energy?"

*Pah!*

Falagita hit Julius's back head. "Are you an idiot? Take a look around! The Decayed Magic Energy is concentrated within the mist below near the ground. Here, on the top of the hill, there is no Decayed Magic Energy. Could it be you didn't recover your Magic Energy when we were on the top of the previous hill?"

"This..." Julius rubbed the back of his head and opened his Magic Energy channels. He had kept them closed ever since they entered this place. Sure enough, the Magic Energy around didn't have good quality and was quite thin. Nonetheless, it wasn't difficult to absorb, nor was it toxic. "S-Sorry... You should have told me last time.

I was almost without any Magic Energy inside my core."

Truth be told, Lifnel didn't need to worry about such things. Inside his Spatial Storage, he had a lot of Red Magic Stones he got from the Vice-Principal. As long as he had time to focus, he could absorb them directly. Not that he would tell the others about it, of course. Only Linfel, Alvin, and Felia knew about it.

*Bzzzzz...*

Wharton watched the wasps flying near the mist of Decayed Magic Energy not far away. "So... can't you send these wasps away, Linfel? They make me nervous."

"No," Linfel immediately refused. "The reason we are alive is because nothing in this Magic Decay Valley dares to cause trouble to these wasps. If I let them go, we will lose our protection against the other Magic Beasts. We will use them to walk away from this place."

"Then we need to start moving fast," Claus warned, doing his best to absorb the Magic Energy of the surroundings. "Purple Wing Horned Wasps only operate during the day. If we wait for the night to come, they will fall asleep."

"Is that so?" Linfel didn't know about that. Even though he was controlling the wasps, he didn't know if he would be able to order them to continue flying during the night or if they would fall asleep regardless. "Then we need to move.

If the wasps don't operate during night time, the Magic Beasts that are hunting during such time probably won't recognize them and attack regardless of their presence."

Vera sat down as well and began to recover her Magic Energy. "Then let's spend an hour recovering. After that, we are not stopping until we leave this valley. The rest of the daylight should be enough to exit this place."

No one complained, and they continued to recover their Magic Energy. Once one hour was up, the job of controlling the water bubbles was once again given to Claus. However, Vera also had Water Element, so she helped as well. She hadn't done it before because they needed Vera to fight the Magic Beasts.

Since the Magic Beasts will not get close to the wasps, she can use her Magic Energy together with Claus.

Linfel and Alvin, on the other hand, connected again and shared the expenditure of Magic Energy to control the wasps, even if it wasn't much. Finally, to be safe, Falagita and the others followed by the sides, ready to fight if necessary. Everyone then came down from the hill and continued to press forward.

The fear the wasps caused to all the Magic Beasts in the Magic Decay Valley was no joke. After two hours and a few stops, they finally could see the end of the mist. During this time, not a single Magic Beast dared get close. They heard the howl and roar of a few who seemed to have got close to their group.

However, once the sound of the wasps reached their ears, they immediately turned around and ran. It was truly an uneventful stroll to the exit.

Claus sighed in relief and let go of the Water Bubbles he was controlling. There was a little bit of Decayed Magic Energy and mist still. However, nothing he and the others couldn't resist. Vera did the same, happy that they somehow survived this adventure.

*Tud... tud, tud, tud...*

Suddenly, the wasps flying around their group began to fall to the ground, much to their surprise. "Already? Shouldn't they start sleeping during night time?"

Linfel immediately shook his head. "They aren't sleeping. They are dying..."

*Tud, tud, tud, tud, tud, tud, tud...*

The several hundred wasps Linfel was controlling fell one after another, lifeless. "Seems like the Purple Wing Horned Wasps truly mutated to live with Decayed Magic Energy. Now that there is almost no Decayed Magic Energy, they are dying."

*Tud.*

Finally, the last one fell flat to the ground, ending their shield of wasps. As it died, Linfel's group finally made their way out of the valley. "Well, this should be enough. The Magic Beasts that live in the Magic Decay Valley never come out, so they probably have the same problem as the wasps. In any case, let's get away from here, just in case."

Around an hour later, the light of the day began to disappear once again as it gave place to nighttime. Vera checked her MCOM, which started to not work properly due to the jamming of the war again. "Seems like we are on the west side of the valley."

"Doesn't that mean..." Falagita began to speak, and Claus concluded. "Yes, we are in Xanzion Country now."
