Chapter 146

Chapter 146

146 instinct

The sudden attack made ‘grant’ aware that the warm up was basically over and the real battle had commenced, with a twist his body made an unbelievable turn as he used his sabre to block the incoming palm but this left his body open to other attacks from the wraiths around but grant did not put on a defence instead he punched forward, a magnificent sun was born from the movement and its radiance dispelled the surrounding wraith and the huge ball of light and heat constructed from psionic energy crashed into the necromancer whose surprise attack had been blocked by the lightsaber, the necromancer figure vanished before the weight of the stellar body hit him and instead in his place was a bunch of resentful souls that seemed to melt away under the majestic rays of the newborn stellar body.

The next moment the sky seemed to fall as the black smoke lingering in the sky quickly descended swirling around and covering the star that had been birthed, the space was quickly changed as the celestial body which was simulated rapidly shrunk and was sent to the sky while being concealed by the smoke like energy. It was as if the sun was being covered by heavy dark clouds.

‘Grant’s’ countenance changed as he stared at the scene in front of him, he noticed something was terribly wrong, he finally knew what the hidden effect of the domain he was shrouded in, Psionic was energy normally birthed from a rapid conversion of various information, soul particle waves in the environment and its contact with the user’s own soul.

The connection of the wraiths with ‘grant’ and their deliberate destructive composition created a toxic energy that had been inadvertently absorbed by his field making the knight unable to gather his thoughts and effectively change reality with his mind, the only reason he had been able to create that celestial body earlier was because of the shock and adrenaline earlier that allowed him sublime himself without noticing the issue. The poison wasn’t that troublesome but it needed time to be cleared and the necromancer obviously wasn’t prepared to give him that.

Sandro knew the knight had finally noticed his hidden means although the circumstances were not as grant though they were basically the same, using the connection between the resentful souls and the knight he had used the collision and battle between them to sync the wavelengths of the wraiths and the knights to a deep level, their soul fragments which had been destroyed and disintegrated released a designated prion like energy that resembled the soul particles in the environment, these prions would then in turn infect the brain and spirit of the knight affecting his thinking, brain and spirit, although these changes were not permanent and would not cause too much of an issue if sufficient time were given to clear them out they were more than enough for this situation, especially in a case where the practitioner in question needed sufficient thought, imagination and visualization to effect lethal changes in his psionic.

Sandro gave the knight no time to ponder as with a slight movement his palms formed a handprint and the numerous wraiths quickly converged on his person to form a cape and weapon in the form of a spear, the faces and screams of the resentful souls were still visible and audible even in this new form, with a step forward the necromancer flew forward at alarming speeds with the spear aimed at the knight.

‘Grant’, immediately aware of the severity of his situation and the immense danger he was in judging by the necromancer’s changes quickly connected to the stellar body hidden behind the dark smoke, although the stellar body was blocked its weight and presence were still obvious and the knight was able to take advantage of its magnetic and gravitational forces to increase his basic stats, although he was still affected by the prions the knight wasn’t going to be defeated so easily, since his thoughts were not an option then naturally he would just stop trying and leave everything else to instinct to utilize his energy and what better way to Jumpstart instinct than a hearty battle, and so with the help of the stellar body he lifted himself off the floor and flew towards the incoming necromancer, the two formed and left traces of black and yellow beams as they clashed with each other in the air, spear and lightsaber colliding leaving colorful sparks, shaking the surrounding space as the strength, skill and speed of the users were inhuman almost reaching the limit of the man-made spatial structure they currently battled in.

As the battle commenced the star in the sky was slowly being consumed by the clouds that held it captive but that was starting to be of no importance to the knight, his flight speed, utilization of the surrounding space and gravity were gradually escaping from the limits of the stellar body and slowly becoming the instinct of the body, just like breathing, it stands to reason that this change should make the knight delighted but instead, he was gloomy and pessimistic, during the battle most of his strikes were absolved by the resentful souls on the cloak the necromancer donned and every strike of the necromancer that hit his body killed of the awareness of a group of his cells and was slowly leaving injuries on his soul, if this went on without treatment ‘grants’ body would become an unconscious monster, and without the connection of the soul and his body the psionic energy within him would run rampant and distort his mind, soul and body. Psionic was never a safe energy in the first place in fact one of the reasons black mud had such a severe and rapid volatile response was due to the influence of the psionic star that appeared in the sky 30 years ago. The distinction between dark psionic and psionic knights was merely the distinction between chaos and order, and unfortunately, chaos was the normal state of the energy after all it was birthed based on the volatile nature of the mind and the thoughts of all creatures in its influence.
