Chapter 168 - 168 Collection
168 Collection
Layton removed his gaze from the metal needle, he had already gotten what he wanted from it, having expended his energy eroding it with his biomagnetic filled with what was now his will he had studied the atomic structure of the object and found the special atomic configuration that made it exert its special effect, fumbling with the hidden button on his seat he proceeded to manipulate the chair to turn and move towards the wall, with this movement the wall opened to reveal a secret compartment housing various weird substances and metals, if one looked closely one could see that the walls that had housed the secret compartment were made from special metal designed to keep in various harmful radiation and power.
The collection of bizarre metals, soil, water and other objects were Layton’s greatest achievement since he had been separated from the main body, if one looked closely at these objects they would find that they were precise simulations of various laws, and by simply existing their radiation and presence caused law like effects to the surroundings. Not all the objects in this collection were his creation some were extremely rare naturally occurring objects he had managed to encounter during his travel and now this metal needle would join them.
His path was a bizarre one he had toured countless planets and fought various battles all in a bid to find stimulation and temper himself, the path he was taking had been streamlined, he understood it would take countless years, effort and energy in other to be able to use his will to control and manipulate the atomic layer of matter so instead he changed his goal, the birth of his current body, the creation of his special physique, his joining of the battlefield as a mercenary and his frantic acceptance of countless combat related jobs were all to achieve this goal. Instead of focusing outside, he focused inside, his biomagnetic field had become his will and instead of expanding it to bring the outside world under his control he took the minimalist approach, through countless battles and wandering in various environments and planets exposing himself to various stimuli, he kept forging his body and via proxy the will of his current body which had become the summation of his current genetic information, behaviour, emotion and reaction to external stimuli that existed in his biomagnetic field, this information that made up his will, and this will which resided in his biomagnetic field was constantly forged and reorganized with every breath and step he took, essentially branding himself to every nook and corner of his body, with enough stimulation and time his information would be branded not only on his genes, flesh and blood but also on the atomic structure that they were made up of. Once this was done coupled with his constant interaction with the outside world the exchange of magnetic fields, aura and breath would ensure that those branded atoms would be spread to the outside world allowing him to breakthrough and become immortal both as the stage of practice in the plane and also as a special state as unless all the atoms he had branded with his will were eradicated he could never be killed.
Presently he was very close to this stage and he could break through at any moment but Layton naturally wouldn’t be satisfied by merely possessing immortality, he had been expending his energy trying to collect and create countless bizarre objects, comprehending their states in a bid to be able to ensure his application and comprehension of various laws and means would never be left behind,
just like his present state would not be possible to achieve if he did not possess various data from Nicholas’s physique in his last plane travel, the boy’s special physique ensured Layton was able to successfully split himself from his main body with little to no risk, if he had simply relied on the manipulation and rearrangement of his cellular and genetic structure at will his body and strength wouldn’t be so stable, his ability to exert his strength would be seriously damaged and the purity of his will and information which would have to be dependent on his genetic structure would be seriously compromised which could cause unforeseen changes that would be dire should he attempt to reunite with his main body.
By creating and simulating various laws he was looking at the laws from a purely materialistic point of view and this simulation occurred by rearrangement, splitting and combination of various atomic particles into particular structures to ensure they mimicked and created the law-like effect, the natural radiation caused by these laws sharpened the strength of his will, the information gained and created by the conception of these objects brought him closer to the laws and ensured once he broke through he could easily exert the effects of these objects with nothing but a thought as he had already been privy to the best efficient form to exert the law effects and could easily do so again with his will via his control over the atomic layer.
For example, the black sticky soil like substance on the shelf was an attempt to mimic part of the laws of death, most life if contaminated with the substance would have the motion of the atomic particles in the affected area hindered coming to a halt, everything is constantly in motion and it’s this motion that brings vitality, by halting or hindering this motion the result was only death. Using this principle, he had found countless similar samples and comprehended their structure using countless atomic combinations and structure until he found the most desirable state, the closest structure, closest array arrangement and the combination of atomic particles that would ensure his envisioned effect could be executed while ensuring the substance could somewhat stably exist on its own while ensuring minimal cost.
Although through this he could exert the power of the law but his current path with this body excluded him from easily having an in depth comprehension of the law as he could only scratch the surface but even with this it was enough after all his current self was incomplete and nothing but an experiment, maybe this defect would be cured as he delved deeper past the atomic layer, but that wasn’t something he could currently achieve.
