Chapter 50

Chapter 50

50 Battle(5)

The monk who was floating cross-legged raised his palm successfully blocking Layton’s fist that had just emerged, although Layton’s speed was basically invisible to the naked eye, he couldn’t deceive the monk’s spiritual sense.

Layton was never expecting that hasty attack to really achieve anything, it was just more of an opening gift.

The monk looked at Layton who was standing in the air beside him and frowned, he noticed he didn’t have the weird aura of a wizard again instead he looked like a pure martial art practitioner.

Looking at him closer now the monk noticed Layton had only descended with a wisp of his soul and was using some sort of opportunistic way to have his projection last longer.

The monk was right Layton could not use any means related to his rune, he could only use the martial arts knowledge he had inadvertently learn from Lin Wei, the knowledge was mainly national martial arts and various quick forbidden ways to improve combat power.

When spreading the exercise method for non-benders earlier Layton had been connected to the countless practitioners gaining combat experience and deepening his understanding of the martial arts he had gained from Lin Wei.

The national martial arts knowledge was very useful it was basically a universal practice that could be used in any plane no matter the conditions, as the practice did not involve any extraordinary power from outside, it only exercised the body and mind.

Although the monk could not perceive any extraordinary power from Layton he still wasn’t at peace, although most of his memories were lost when he somehow landed on this plane, he still remembered that Wu practitioners who followed the National martial arts way were very difficult to deal with especially when they have their own martial intent.

The monk could distinctly remember that when he had met Layton where he was connected to the plane during their illusory confrontation he could feel the wizard had knowledge of martial intent, he could only hope the wisp of soul the wizard used to descend was not enough to display the intent.

.....

Staring at the spotless monk who seemed to be in deep in thought opposite him Layton did nothing but took a deep breath and decided to continue attacking, he needed to accumulate enough momentum to let go of his restrictions.

‘Boom’ another fist hit the blood kin’s belly, the area the fist hit started twisting and gathering as if to form a whirlpool, a few seconds later the blood kin whole’s body was twisted into the whirlpool and he soon exploded, turning into numerous disgusting pieces of flesh and blood.

May retracted her spotless fist, watching her work with admiration, the punch earlier was something she had thought about but never really put in practice, by hitting the enemy she would control whatever liquid was in the opponent’s body and create a small whirlpool, she wasn’t fully sure what the effects would be but she was sure it would be sufficiently lethal.

Since she had figured out Zhao had been adapting to her attacks and was regenerating no matter how he was killed, May had been using him as a punching bag to practice various attacks she had thought of but never really put in practice since she had broken through the bottleneck of Grandmaster.

It had been a long time since she had let loose and she was a little rusty, she was aware her opponent was whatever was gestating in that cocoon of flesh and blood, but she wasn’t in a hurry to try and stop the process after all the plane crystal that Layton had told her about was what turned to the cocoon, forcefully stopping whatever was going on might cause some damage to the crystal and cause some irreparable damage that might affect the overall plan.

Stepping on the air Layton quickly moved forward and fisted out aiming at the monks’ serene face, although he was in the air unable to use his feet to accumulate strength Layton had utilized the full strength of all the muscles in his arm as he punched.

The fist whizzed through the air making a whistling sound, *boom* the monk’s flawless palm slowly arrived in front of the incoming fist firmly blocking its advancement. Layton couldn’t stay in the air for too long he was mainly using his superb control and force to step and pedal in the air, the monk stooping his fist made him falter almost dropping from the air, whipping his leg he aimed again for the head.

Using his other palm the monk held his ankle stooping the kick. With a smile, the monk who held Layton in a captive awkward position threw Layton with force making him crash downwards piercing through a building and making a hole in the street.

Suddenly from the hole the monk felt a weird gloomy aura emerge, the monk who felt threatened manifested a golden illusory Buddha dharma image that emanated an indestructible meaning. Layton stood up from the hole his expression manic and an illusory phantom was condensed behind him, the phantom was not that of a concrete existence it was just a shifting cloud of darkness that kept on changing.

Layton walked out staring at the monk and the golden Buddha dharma above him with a slight smile, although Layton’s plan to accumulate momentum failed but the negative emotion from the humiliation the Monk had inflicted on him was enough to liberate his shackles, all his cells and genes were awakened, its instinct and all the negative emotion Layton had previously transferred to this clone’s body was no activated and burning providing him with incomparable power.
