Layton cleaned the blood on his neck and touched his newly healed skin. The previous attack that came out of nowhere scared him for a second, the shot had literally appeared right in front of his neck, his haki didn’t notice where the uneasy feeling came from at first but when he focused his observation haki on his own body he was able to get a glimpse of where exactly he might be hurt by whatever attack was coming, so he covered the area with armed haki and when he still didn’t feel safe he tilted his head to try and dodge the attack, the bullet which emerged tore through his armed haki like paper and thanks to him tilting his head to avoid the bullet only grazed the skin of his neck.
Although this seemed long the truth was that all this happened in a split second and immediately after the threat was gone using his colour haki to pinpoint where the inexplicable attack emerged from he could see a dark skinned short haired woman with beautiful blue green eyes ending him her middle finger as she dissipated into light, the vibration of his stigmata signified she was out of the game.
The moment Phillip sacrificed himself and transferred his magic to Ruth, two figures who were paying attention to the war were instantly aware.
On a large luxurious building at the edge of star city stood two figures, one was a bronze skinned muscular old man while the other was a blond haired young man donning a long somewhat faded yellow trench coat.
“Phillips gone.” The bronze skinned old man said in a downcast tone.
“Yeah,” Listening to the plain response of the blond haired sorcerer, the old man’s eyes sharpened in anger but quickly dimmed, he knew the death of his friend was not the sorcerer fault, after all, Phillip was already on his last legs it was nothing but a matter of time.
Of course, this wasn’t the only reason the old man conceded so easily, the main reason he restrained his temper was quite simple he couldn’t beat the sorcerer, even his teacher had solemnly warned of the danger of Constantine, his life level was not enough to quantify his danger if he got serious after all this was a lone man not affiliated to any force that was rumoured to have survived in the cracks of the battle between paradise and hell several times despite being only a level 3 powerhouse.
Constantine ignored the complicated thought process of the president and focused on observing star city and the space around it not wanting any surprises to occur at this important moment as for the death of Phillip Constantine did not think much about it after all they weren’t that close it was just a deal and Phillip quite frankly wanted to end his own life some time ago.
Constantine just made his death have more meaning by contributing to the plan after all if it was successful it would mean monumental benefits for this world. Philip was an irreplaceable part of Constantine’s plan, Both he and Constantine’s divination magic discovered during this war there was going to be a creation of a grand magic, miracle and a ritual.
.....
Either or all of these scenarios were going to happen and there was no way to stop it from occurring as it was an established destiny and this was not good news for Constantine as this would no doubt interfere with the ritual he designed for Lilith, in other to make sure he laughed last he had commissioned Phillip to use his innate time magic to perform some modifications.
Philip had made sure when Layton was trying to perceive the earth he noticed the scholars hiding place making him aware of the threat prematurely and forcing the scholar to activate his miracle as it was incomplete making the prophecy come through as there was an occurrence of a miracle although incomplete and without much influence, Philip also observed the future and made the priest aware of the location of his brother, the priest although at the cost of his life was successful at stopping the already in place ritual and in order to make sure there were no more surprises, Ruth had also been involved as she had also been manipulated to make that last shot ending the life of Roma, thus making sure the only permanent world changing event that would occur was one of Constantine’s design.
“If the scholar’s miracle were to happen without Philips interference it would affect the whole star city, it wouldn’t be only one giant, it would be really worth the name jorthunmier, Roma’s ritual although destroyed was basically completed it’s just that the magic was annihilated as soon as it was born by the artifacts attack.” Constantine suddenly said as if muttering to himself but in fact, he was giving an explanation to the president as to the necessity of Philip’s actions.
“Speaking off, why did you make sure the lancer took the spear.” The president asked curiously remembering the lancer’s action, he knew if not for Constantine’s secret manipulations there was no way the artifact would leave the world with the lancer.
“It’s a symbol, Metatron was the first angel to descend on this world and leave a profound impression the leaving of his spear will serve as a symbol allowing the ritual to cut off the connection between the church in the world and paradise,” Constantine said lightly.
The president’s eye twitched with nervousness after hearing Constantine’s words. “So how are you going to deal with the backlash of paradise.” He asked solemnly this world could not afford a full-fledged war with paradise, even a skirmish was enough to hurt the world badly.
“Leave that to me, just make sure you merge back all the created parallel realities for the holy grail war, I will take care of the rest,” Constantine said quietly and domineeringly as he stared out into the distance watching quietly as Lilith vanished and the array he had outlined throughout star city started operation.
It was created using the locations of where the different participants were killed as array points and the shop was the array core, if one looked from above they could see the shining connected points showing a complicated circular array shrouding the whole city.
