Chapter 81
Chapter 81
81 Champion
Everyone was mesmerized and attracted by the beautiful phenomenon when suddenly a powerful wave was sent out from the whirlpool which constituted the root.
Although everyone was attracted by the root as participants who had come this far in the war they were naturally not defenceless as soon as the wave spread different fluctuations arose as all participants put on their strongest defence, regardless of the confidence or strength level of each individual they all felt sufficiently threatened by the wave, the wave was in the form of white steam that spread alarmingly fast, soon everyone was covered by the thick steam, there were different faint lights and other energy fluctuations in the steam covered land but soon they all disappeared leaving behind only three.
The three surviving phenomena were peculiar one was a blue coloured bubble that kept on floating in and out of the surface of the steam, the others were a faint transparent white light that separated the steam while housing a humanoid figure in it and lastly a small peculiar area where the steam seemed to curve avoiding a small spherical area while still covered in steam.
A minute later the steam naturally dispersed as mysteriously as it emerged apart from the 3 figures who tightly protected themselves the other participants were missing and in their place were giants of different sizes scattered around the space, the three different figures ignored the fierce looking giant humanoids and focused on each other they had just received a message from their stigmata only one of them could leave this space alive.
“Oh, 3 champion level figures and they are all from the 3 different core civilization’s interesting, whoever is behind this holy grail change really put in a lot of thought.” The emperor said with a smile as he stared at the projection of the war, in his eyes he could see the air luck or destiny hovering over the three champion figures contending with each other, although the air luck was not immense but it was a representation of the contending three great civilizations the Wizard, Wu and Science federation forces and although not all powerhouses of his level loved to watch juniors fight but they would definitely be interested in continuing to watch this confrontation as the 3 were not only representing themselves but the civilizations behind them, this clash would serve as an incentive and plea preventing anyone from outside disrupting the war because of the changes this was why the emperor said a lot of thought had been put into it.
As a top notch figure who had been paying attention to the holy grail war from the start the Daqin emperor could notice there was something off about the war this time and someone was manipulating it hoping to achieve some goals, in fact not only the emperor any top powerhouse who spared a glance at the core world this time would notice it but no one said a word, one because there was no actual damage done to the contestants and the other was that regardless of the signs of manipulation and strings being pulled the matter was still to be settled by the strength of the contestants the figure behind did not really cheat in order to make whatever plans he had come into fruition the matter was still all in the hands of the contestants.
“Call up the data on the three champions.” The emperor said to one of his aides.
The term champions were not just a name the emperor gave to the three participants he was optimistic about but this was a term given to level 1 practitioners who had achieved the special state, this state could only be achieved when one was still a level 1 practitioner it was basically a state in which one surpassed limits and became complete. The way to achieve this differs from person to person but the difficulty was still alarmingly high. There was no external manifestation as to when a person became a champion but it is taken for granted that a champion could take on a large number of his peers without losing ground.
Of course, the rarity and strong combat was not made champions special it was the fact which is known only to a few top figures that those who hit champion level would have a far greater chance at becoming a paragon powerhouse, which was just another name for a level 6 powerhouse, the limit of power which could be displayed in the void.
.....
The emperor himself although a talented individual since birth had not been able to achieve champion level despite this he was still able to become a paragon and a strong one at that, his strength was a large reason for the current prosperity of the empire.
“This is the data, my emperor.” The aide said bowing as he presented the majestic seated figure with a thin slate, receiving it the emperor turned his gaze to the slate which had now been activated displaying some words.
‘Layton, a wizard, born on a small remote plane in the wizard civilization area, orphan and now apprenticed to illumination Solace but is now being taught by Makarov, has experienced only one plane trip with the wizard civilization’s dimensional eroder. Attack means mostly melee, good at hand to hand combat suspected martial arts prodigies, perverted perception and intuition, also possess a mysterious soul attack.
Igor ketchoof, born in the science federation scope of influence, researcher parents, a natural born superpower of gravity, has no technological implants or modifications. Few background data as parents are important researchers in a secret institute and no combat data as few shots are recorded, all attacks were of a crushing level essentaillly defeating his opponents in a single move.
Tang Qi, orphan, affiliated with the Wu civilization practitioner of qi training specializing in water exercises, mediocre ordinary member originating from a small plane belonging to the Wu civilization, attained champion status in the holy grail war shortly after it started, known means of attack are water based spells as a long range attack, is able to achieve special perverted control over all his energy.’
After scanning through the information gathered and satisfying his curiosity the emperor returned the slate to the aide and then focused his gaze back on the projection watching the battle that had just begun.
