Chapter 66 Alister Might Be Overly Cautious And Paranoid
Hearing the words of the man in a white robe, Alister felt that it wasn't that bad. The only problem left was whether the Transcendent Association went back on their words and stole the cyborg parts him without any payment.
'Although, that might be me being too cautious and paranoid.'
'However, if the Transcendent Association did that, I can still stomach it and act as if nothing happened. But they better be prepared when the time I became a god as I am a petty and vengeful person.'
With those thoughts in mind, in the end, Alister accepted the offer of the man in a white robe.
After Alister expressed his agreement, the man in a white robe offered his hand to Alister, opening his palm, "Touch my hand. My superpower is partial space manipulation and I can teleport us to the main building of the Transcendent Association."
When Alister heard about the superpower of the man in a white robe, he thought, 'No wonder I couldn't detect his presence when he had approached me from above. It seemed that he didn't have a presence in the first place since he immediately appeared above me and did not sneak up above me.'
Knowing that the man in the white robe wasn't lying, Alister placed his hand on the palm of the man in the white robe.
He had used his mind power before to detect whether the man in the white robe was lying to him and since the start of their conversation, the man in the white robe hadn't lied to him.
Of course, there was still the possibility of the man in a white robe possessing the artifact that prevented his lies from being detected but Alister knew that might be him being too cautious and paranoid.
At least, Alister was well aware of how cautious and paranoid he was so he decided to take a risk this time.
Unlike before, Alister now had the assurance and capital to take risks in the transcendent world.
After all, if the Transcendent Association dared to play tricks with him, he could just retreat to the zombie world.
After Alister placed his hand on the white-robed man's palm, he saw that his surroundings had immediately changed.
Unlike the ruined buildings and houses from before, Alister saw that the white-robed man and he were in front of a tall building with the huge plaque of "Transcendent Association" outside the door.
At least, Alister could determine it looked like the genuine Transcendent Association since he had seen the outside layout of the Transcendent Association's building on both the internet and the news before.
After Alister and the white-robed man appeared outside the main building of the Transcendent Association, the white-robed man introduced himself, "For us to better communicate with each other, I will introduce myself."
"I am Bell Crane, a 9th-level transcendent of the Transcendent Association with the superpower of partial space manipulation."
The white-robed man introduced himself as Bell Crane, and he seemed to look at Alister, waiting for Alister to do the same.
Since there was no point in him hiding his identity, Alister replied, "Alister Wright. However, I am not yet registered as a transcendent but I am at 9th-level. My superpower is air manipulation."
When Bell heard about Alister's superpower, he was surprised, "Didn't you use some psychic-type ability to control the cyborg and prevent its self-destruction?"
In response, Alister shook his head, "No, I didn't. My air manipulation is just proficient enough to manipulate the air densities instead of just manipulating wind like what most could do."
"To prevent the core of the cyborg from exploding, I had thought that the cyborg must have used nuclear energy. Thus, I manipulated the air densities to keep the atoms stable inside the core to prevent it from either fusing or splitting, depending on the type of nuclear reaction the core had used to generate energy."
"And when I had disassembled the cyborg, I had also used the air densities to occupy the loose space inside the cyborg to examine the inside parts of the cyborg. So when I had grasped the inside of the cyborg, it was easy for me to disassemble it and all I did was just unscrew everything that connected the cyborg."
Was Alister telling the truth?
Of course, he was bullshitting!
But there was no way for him to reveal that he had two superpowers, let alone the fact that he had three.
Furthermore, his air manipulation superpower could cover the usage of his absolute mind power. At least, he felt that the explanation he gave to cover up the usage of technokinesis was quite reasonable.
"Fuck! You can use your superpower so proficiently? Even those at the Transcendent Emperor level weren't confident that they could boast that their control over their superpower is at the atomic level."
In response to Bell's exclamation, Alister just shrugged, "Everyone is built differently. Someone at the Transcendent King level might still be spamming their ice superpower by creating countless ice shards or something. While a weaker transcendent might have already used their ice superpower to slow down the molecules inside a given space, further amplifying their ice manipulation by preventing the generation of heat."
"So if you are ever stuck at the 9th-level, it's still not the end for you since you can still choose to further expand your arsenal of skills. If you went that route of development, you won't call your space manipulation as 'partial' anymore but just space manipulation."
Alister didn't mind giving Bell some lecture about the usage of superpowers. After all, peak bullshittery was when you could connect one bullshit to another bullshit and combine those bullshits to make a very reasonable statement.
Bell's appearance seemed to be in his twenties and he possessed white hair and blue eyes. Alister found it uncanny that Bell was the exact opposite of him in terms of appearance like Bell had a different color scheme.
But Bell looked quite young so Alister treated him as a peer of the same age as his.
Not to mention, what Alister said wasn't completely false as it was indeed true. Because of that, Bell couldn't help but feel enlightened by Alister's words.
"I will keep that in mind. If ever I am stuck in the progress of my power level, I should work on increasing my proficiency over my superpower."
After Bell's reply, Bell and Alister arrived at the entrance of Transcendent Association's main building.
However, a skeptical thought couldn't help but pop inside Alister's mind out of habit.
'I have already introduced myself as Alister Wright. How come Bell did not know about my name? Even if he doesn't know my appearance, he should at least know about me, the world's renowned trash who was the first to possess a 0-star talent.'
'Or perhaps I am being too skeptical about it and Bell just stayed on the battlefield for too long that he had only recently arrived and he wasn't informed by the news in the world.'
