"What about Martha, then?" Leigh responded, "Don't you dare forget that he married her and they conceived five daughters! If he truly loved your mom, then why did he have so many children with another woman?"

dazzled by his looks. I guess she must have decided to take a shot at the marriage since he might fall in love with her after their marriage and forget about your mom, right?"

He replied, "I'm a tall, strapping male, so it wouldn't be appropriate to describe me as 'pretty'."

"I don't find it inappropriate." She glanced at him and smiled while saying, "Anyone who's pretty, be it women or men, can be described as ravishing."

Lucas nodded. "He made the mistake of getting entangled with my mom before obtaining his parents' approval. He should never have duped my mom with the fake marriage certificate too."

"He didn't expect things to turn out this way, did he?" She added, "Perhaps back then, he was confident that he would be able to convince his parents and marry your mom after a lavish wedding ceremony.
