Chapter 486

One of the things they mentioned to Sebastian was shoe hunting.

According to his childhood friends, the bridesmaids' favorite place to hide the shoes was under the bride's wedding dress.

His eyes wandered around the room, but he couldn't find any special place to hide things. He instantly knew where the shoes were when he saw Madeline keep her head down slightly. And so, he took two steps straight forward before he lightly lifted the hem of her wedding dress.

A pair of shiny crystal shoes studded with diamonds made their appearance in front of everyone then.

"Woah!" Myla exclaimed. "You're amazing, Sebastian!"

The man only smiled and kneeled on one knee to put on the heels for Madeline before he carried his bride in both arms.

With the groomsmen leading the way, the rowdy group left the Wendel Residence.

Sebastian first carried Madeline into the car, and they sped to a parking apron.

For this special occasion, he had dispatched three private planes to pick up the bride.

When the car came to a stop, he carried her onto one of the planes, where they proceeded to head out of Wendel City and to Dusktown.

The plane eventually landed on the parking apron near a church, and Sebastian carried Madeline off

the plane and into the car waiting there without letting her feet touch the ground once.

After arriving at the church and completing a series of complicated preparations, the wedding march sounded. Madeline laced her arm around Michael's and stepped onto the red carpet, walking slowly toward Sebastian who was waiting at the other end of the carpet.

Amidst the solemn music, the father and daughter walked in his direction. His gaze was fixed on her face the whole time as he watched her slowly approach him.

At this moment, he suddenly understood why a wedding was necessary to bring together a couple.

He felt the solemnity and responsibility dawn on him right at this instant.

Weddings were sacred.

The ceremony was like a dividing line that announced to the world how he would be a different person than before from now on.

He would be the head of their own family after he took Madeline as his wife. With that, he was responsible for both her and their sons' happiness from then on.

He was confident that he could take care of them.

The solemn music couldn't hide the excitement in the air, and as he waited, Madeline finally came to a stop beside him with her arm still around Michael's.

As Michael put Madeline's hand into Sebastian's, he felt the tip of his nose sour, while hot tears filled his eyes.

How he wished Madeline was still unmarried and without children during the time he found her.

That way, he could still wrap his protective and loving arms around her and let her be the Wendels' little princess who lived a carefree life.

It was a pity that things in life didn't always go the way people wanted.

He could only hope that Sebastian would treat her well and keep her happy.

He also wished that he and the Wendels would be his daughter's most solid backing. No matter the place and time, he and the Wendels would be his daughter's eternal safe haven.

Sebastian soon took Madeline's hand and walked to the priest. novelbin

The priest wearing a robe asked solemnly, "Sebastian Hart, do you take Madeline Taylor as your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?"

A smile appeared on Sebastian's lips as he gazed at Madeline with a gentle look. His eyes looked like an autumn lake with soft, bright ripples when he swore, "I do."

"Madeline Taylor, do you take Sebastian Hart as your lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?"

Madeline looked back at the man standing opposite her. He had changed her fate, given her and the children a place called home, and cared for them in every possible way. Her heart started galloping away as she answered in a voice that trembled slightly, "I do!"

"The bride and groom may exchange the rings," the priest announced.

Sebastian got down on one knee and slipped Madeline's ring on her finger, and she helped him put on his ring as well.

Philip sat in the first row of the VIP seats with Quincy in his left arm and Joel in the other. He watched with a smile as his son and Madeline exchanged rings and kissed amidst the racket and blessings of the guests.

Wonderful! he thought.

He had waited for this day for too long!

Now that the couple had gotten married, no one would speak ill about his grandbabies' birth!

His precious grandchildren were born out of wedlock. If anyone dared to gossip, talk nonsense, or look down on them, he swore he would teach those pricks a lesson if he ever found out. Let's see who would dare talk sh*t about my precious grandchildren then!

After the wedding was over, he took Quincy and Joel away contentedly.

The groom, bride, and guests proceeded to leave the church and rush to the hotel.

Sebastian had many buddies and childhood friends. Although there were many guests, he didn't drink too much because he had his buddies and friends to help him drink instead.

That way, he could still wrap his protective and loving arms around her and let her be the Wendels' little princess who lived a carefree life.

Madeline, on the other hand, drank fruit wine that was similar to fruit juice. After the lunch and dinner parties, she was fine other than having a slight flush to her cheeks.

After seeing off the guests, the groomsmen and bridesmaids sent the groom and bride into the hotel room used as their bridal chamber.

It was now the groomsmen and bridesmaids' turn to have fun after the long day of accompanying the groom and the bride.

Preparing the bridal chamber was probably the only opportunity and reason they had to torment Sebastian. His friends wouldn't want to miss the chance no matter what.

"The bridal chamber should always start with a formal exchange of your glass of wine!" Jesse handed Sebastian and Madeline a glass of wine each. "This is the first glass of wine. You both have to drink cross-cupped wine."

Unlike the wine at the banquet, these two glasses of wine were genuine wine.

While the groomsmen cheered, Sebastian and Madeline held their wine glasses, wrapped their arms around each other's necks, and brought the wine glasses to their lips before they drank it all in one

gulp.

This was what cross-cupped wine was.

As the length of one's arm was limited, hooking the arm around the neck of the other person and bringing the wine glass to their lips would definitely force their bodies together.

Madeline could feel his firm chest, high body temperature, and the beating of his heart.

She started to blush furiously after she finished her wine.

The man lowered his eyes slightly, and when he saw her embarrassed look, he suddenly remembered a saying he came across before: the utter tenderness flowed when one bowed their head.

In that instant, he thought the groomsmen and bridesmaids in the room were nothing but eyesores.

Every minute of the wedding night was precious.

Shouldn't these annoying men be bringing the bridesmaids away now if they could read the room?

"All right now." Sebastian passed the wine glasses to Lucas. "It's getting late. You guys should head back."

"My friend, are you trying to kick us out after just one glass of wine?" Kyle smiled. "We brainstormed for so many fun things to do, so don't rush! It's not late at all for us!"

The corners of Sebastian's lips curled elegantly when he heard that. "Should I be thanking you then?"

Geez, now that's what I call a proper threat, thought his childhood friends, who were speechless by his words.
