Chapter 1165: I’m Downstairs
The man’s wispy fringe lay damply on his forehead, revealing his handsome face. The extravagant black silk pajamas accentuated his tall and attractive figure, with him exuding a cold aura.
As Lu Yeming stood in front of the bar counter, he opened a bottle of vintage red wine, pouring a little into a tall wine glass. He sipped the wine nonchalantly and the rich taste of the red wine spread in his mouth.
Just then, there were two knocks on the door, followed by his trusted right-hand man, Fan Men’s voice. “Duke.”
“Come in.”
The door opened and Fan Men entered.
“Duke, the duel will happen in three days, but we are still unable to locate Third Young Miss Jun’s whereabouts.”
Lu Yeming turned around and perched himself slightly on the counter, his deep almond-shaped eyes glancing at Fan Men. “No need. She’s already here.”
What?
Fan Men stared at Lu Yeming in shock.
But Lu Yeming was not interested in continuing the conversation and merely took another sip of red wine. “Fan Men, do you have a woman?”
Fan Men swiftly bowed his head. “Duke, I don’t have one yet.”
Lu Yeming glanced down at the red wine glass in his hand. “Women are like red wine. They may be equally beautiful, but when you take a taste, you will be able to differentiate between the good and the bad. When you are used to drinking the wine of the most superior quality, you will not bother with the inferior one anymore.”
“Duke, I don’t understand.”
Lu Yeming curved his thin lips. “You don’t need to understand. You may leave.”
“Yes.” Fan Men left.
The room became quiet again. Lu Yeming downed his wine. He was referring to the women whom he had relationships with, Jun Xiqing and Ye Ruge.
Ye Ruge was the East Duke’s daughter and the only female amongst the descendants of the Dukes of Country A. She was blessed with ravishingly beautiful looks.
He harbored feelings towards her and desired to marry her. Of course, that would mean that he would bed her.
But now, his feelings towards Ye Ruge had started to wane.
Just now when she had kissed him in the living room, he had pushed her away because there was something lacking in her.
She was not Jun Xiqing.
In the end, Jun Xiqing was much more exceptional than Ye Ruge. Her enchanting bright eyes sparkled with intelligence and astuteness.
Aside from this, Jun Xiqing had a clean and pure upbringing. She was the youngest daughter of the Jun Family and she was chaste, innocent and naively unaware of the matters between men and women. Every time he looked at her, he felt an itch in his throat.
When he recollected the feeling of kissing her, his breathing became slightly ragged.
Ye Ruge would never be able to match up to her innocence and sweetness.
Lu Yeming made comparisons between the two women in his heart. He was a very picky man, particularly in the area of choosing women.
The West Palace had already sent him clean and young ladies three years ago, but he had nary an interest in them. He was indifferent towards those beauties who had been selected amongst thousands of ladies.
The only woman who caught his eye was Ye Ruge.
But then after that, he met Jun Xiqing at Capital.
The Emperors in the past had many concubines and there would be some concubines who were more favored than others. He would definitely favor Jun Xiqing more in the future.
Lu Yeming elegantly sipped the last bit of red wine.
...
At night, the Rolls-Royce Phantom came to a stop. Gu Mohan glanced up through the shiny car window and saw that the light in the room upstairs was still on.
She was not sleeping yet.
He did not know why he had come here.
She had been drugged with AR and everything was within his plans. After her wedding with Feng Lihen, he would have the means to obtain the AR antidote.
On a certain level, he and Feng Lihen had reached a consensus. Feng Lihen had agreed not to touch her. Both of them would collaborate in achieving their goals – Feng Lihen would obtain the North Duke’s position and he would obtain the antidote.
But now an unknown panic was slowly spreading in his heart. Such a panic made him feel uneasy and helpless. For some reason, he had a premonition that she would leave him.
Gu Mohan picked up his cell phone and dialed a familiar number.
...
In the room upstairs, Tang Mo’er had just showered and she was drying her long hair with a towel. Her ravishing face was rosy pink from the steam of the hot shower. Her luscious lashes quivered and her red lips were daintily red. She was a sight to behold.
A melodious cell phone ring tone sounded as she received an incoming call.
She picked up her cell phone and there was a name on the screen. —- Mr Gu.
Mr Gu had telephoned her.
After hesitating for a few seconds, she picked up the call.
“Hello.” His low and deep voice came over the phone.
Tang Mo’er bit down lightly on her red lips and did not answer.
“I’m downstairs.”
Tang Mo’er promptly walked to the window and drew the curtains.
There was a street lamp and the lamp shone down on his Rolls-Royce Phantom, which was parked there. Enveloped in the shadows, he was like an Emperor in the darkness, and one could hardly ignore his presence.
“Come down.”
He asked her to go downstairs.
Tang Mo’er looked down, gradually stretched her hand out and hung up the phone.
She did not want to hear his voice anymore.
She could not withstand his seduction anymore.
Sitting in the luxurious car, Gu Mohan heard the ‘duut duut’ sound of the phone being hung up.
She had never behaved like this towards him before.
Why?
The panic and terror in his heart loomed larger, making it difficult for him to breathe.
Gu Mohan pulled open the car door and alighted the car. The guard of the West Palace blocked his way. “Sir, I’m sorry, this is the West Duke’s residence and you cannot go in.”
“Open the door.”
A voice was heard.
The guard looked up towards the balcony, where a tall and handsome figure was standing. Lu Yeming.
“Understood.” The guard promptly pulled the main gate open.
Gu Mohan walked in and looked up. His deep narrow eyes collided with Lu Yeming’s cold almond-shaped eyes. Without speaking a word, he stood below Tang Mo’er’s room.
He took out his cell phone and sent a message —- I want to see you.
In the room, Tang Mo’er saw him enter. One was upstairs and the other was downstairs.
He said he wanted to see her.
But Tang Mo’er did not reply.
Soon later, there was a “Beep” sound as his message came again —- I want to ask you something. Your marriage with Feng Lihen is fake, right?
—- Tang Mo’er, you don’t have the guts to forsake your husband and son.
—- Mrs Gu, I miss you.
Tang Mo’er’s pristine eyes were filled with luminous tears. Just then, there was a clap of thunder and the rain poured down.
She quickly looked outside the window. It was an autumn shower and the rain had come on suddenly, bringing with it gusts of cold wind.
In an instant, Gu Mohan’s clothes were soaked.
The raindrops glided down from his handsome face and his white shirt stuck damply to his muscular body. As he stood in the torrential rain, he continued to wait for her downstairs.
When she saw him standing there waiting, Tang Mo’er’s heart wrenched in pain.
