Chapter 1244: Qingqing, Don’t Leave
Jun Xiqing swam out of the water.
The moment she inhaled the fresh air, Jun Xiqing’s mind was filled with only one phrase—-She just survived a calamity.
And she hadn’t died.
She actually hadn’t died.
But...
Jun Xiqing looked around, it was dark and freezing all around, she couldn’t find the one she was looking for.
Where was Lu Yeming?
Where was he?
Was he dead?
He had suffered such serious injuries and even fell into the ocean, it was going to be tough for him to get out of the waters.
Jun Xiqing quickly went back into the waters to look for him. She swam around, searching for that dignified figure.
Where was he? Where?
She continued searching for a long time, coming up for a ragged breath before she continued again but she just couldn’t find him.
Cold. It was so cold and she no longer had any energy left. Her limbs were all frozen stiff, she had no energy left to continue looking for him.
She couldn’t find him.
What should she do now that she couldn’t find him?
Jun Xiqing swam up, head whipping around as she looked around her. Her surroundings were pitch black, she burst into tears as she shouted his name, “Lu Yeming, Lu Yeming, where are you? Lu Yeming...”
Hadn’t she already said it? He was a jerk.
What did it have to do with her if he died?
But why did he have to save her and possibly die because of that?
She didn’t want to owe him anything.
She didn’t want to have to remember him her entire life.
“Lu Yeming, where are you... Lu Yeming... Cries...” She continued crying while looking for him.
It was then that she suddenly heard a weak voice. “Why are you crying? I’m not dead yet.”
Jun Xiqing was stunned, she quickly turned back and Lu Yeming was in front of her, he was well and alive.
H-He hadn’t died!
Great, he wasn’t dead!
Jun Xiqing began laughing while crying. She quickly swam over, balling her hands into fists while pummeling him. “You scared me... You really scared me...”
She wouldn’t stop repeating those words, she clearly was scared out of her wits.
Lu Yeming didn’t dodge, he just let her pummel him while looking at her with a tender gaze. He suddenly crouched over, leaning his head on her shoulder as he breathed heavily. “Qingqing, admit it, you’ve fallen for me.”
He spoke so assertively.
You’ve fallen for me.
Jun Xiqing’s heart thumped wildly, her anxiousness was evident and her limbs were chilled to the bone.
“Lu Yeming, I’ve met a fair share of jerks but I haven’t met any jerk like you. You set me up and took away everything that was mine and now, you’re even planning to steal my heart?”
Her nation.
Her home.
Her Wuling Iron Steed Troop.
Her blood.
Her Wolf-taming skills.
All this time, he set her up and took everything away, now he was planning to steal her heart as well.
This man was really terrifying. In the end, he made her feel really afraid of him.
But Lu Yeming only stretched his arms out, holding her waist. In the cold waters, her body warmth transmitted over to him and he planted kisses on her hair. “You can think of it however you want.”
Jun Xiqing immediately pushed him away.
Hiss.
Lu Yeming’s brows knitted tightly.
“What’s wrong with you?”
Jun Xiqing stretched her arm out to touch his back. Her hands were stained with blood and even the water around him had turned red.
He had suffered some serious injuries...
...
The pair swam onto the shore and it was around five in the morning, the sun was starting to rise. There was a deserted wooden house and Jun Xiqing staggered over to push the door open.
Inside was a light, a stove, a bed, and also one blanket on the bed. It was fortunate to be in a livable condition.
Lu Yeming lay on the bed and Jun Xiqing tore open his clothes. His back was badly injured and a gory mess, his flesh fully exposed and even his bones could be seen.
The air was filled with a pungent, bloody stench. Jun Xiqing shuddered, applying some pressure on his wound to stop the bleeding. “I’ll go outside to look for some herbs to stop the bleeding, if not, you’re going to lose your life before someone comes to save us.”
She turned around to leave.
A large hand stretched over, grasping her hand.
Jun Xiqing stopped walking, lowering her eyes.
Lu Yeming looked at her. “Are you going to... run away again?”
This was a golden opportunity. He was unwell and definitely had no strength left to chase after her. She could just leave him and escape.
But if she really left, he would definitely die.
Jun Xiqing smirked. “Aren’t you the best at scheming? You can guess.”
After speaking, she flung his hand away and disappeared from his sight.
...
She was gone.
Lu Yeming looked in the direction she had left in, closing his eyes.
Pain wracked through his entire body, it was almost numb from it all as he drifted in and out of consciousness. All he could feel was a dull, numbing pain and a frightening chill that seemed to seep into his bones.
It was so cold.
...
He went into a coma.
He had a dream, or rather, a nightmare.
Gu Mohan took Tang Mo’er with him and Mo’er turned around, telling him, “Yeming, I’m leaving.”
“Don’t leave...”
He stretched his arm out, wanting to grab her hand. But he hadn’t managed to, Mo’er’s svelte figure just disappeared before his eyes.
Don’t leave...
Don’t leave...
He murmured in anguish.
After some time, he could feel a tiny hand caressing his face. He instinctively grabbed the hand.
Mo’er.
He opened his eyes.
But it wasn’t Mo’er in front of him.
It was Jun Xiqing.
It was bright outside, the sun had risen and Jun Xiqing changed into a set of normal clothes. Her hair was pulled into a low ponytail, revealing her ravishing face.
As she stood beside the bed, she wiped away the sheen of cold sweat on his face. When she noticed that he had woken up, her lustrous eyes landed on his pale face.
Lu Yeming looked at her, slowly letting go of her hand.
How many times had this happened?
In the darkness, he held her hand.
When he opened his eyes, he saw her face.
Jun Xiqing turned around, washing the towel. “I’ve gotten the physician in the village to stitch your wound. We’re not in the best conditions here and your wounds have developed into an infection. You need to survive this crucial 24 hours.
“Also, I’ve sent a signal for help. I believe your underlings will be capable of finding this place in no time.”
“So,” Lu Yeming interrupted her, “Are you leaving?”
“Yes.”
“What if I can’t survive this?”
Jun Xiqing turned around, looking at him coldly. “Lu Yeming, don’t try to push your luck. You saved me and now I’ve returned the favor by saving you once too.”
“Ha.” Lu Yeming laughed forcibly. “Qingqing, I’ll never let you go.”
Ignoring him, Jun Xiqing threw the towel aside, turning around to step out of the house.
She wanted to leave.
Right away.
...
The thunder roared, it was raining outside. The rain was heavy and the weather was cold and gloomy. It was a sequence of unfortunate events.
Jun Xiqing was in a hurry to leave, she just ran out even when it was raining. The rain poured down, drenching her from head to toe. Even as she ran, she could hear someone chasing after her. Then her slim waist was encircled by two muscular arms.
Thrown back into his arms, Lu Yeming hugged her from behind, he hugged her so tightly and buried his face in her neck, kissing her delicate skin. “Qingqing, don’t leave.”
No... Why was he here? Jun Xiqing lowered her eyes, prying his fingers apart.
