Everything would get better soon.

“Mo’er, if you have to remember one thing, you must remember this. This is your Mr Gu, the Mr Gu you love. You must not forget about him again!”

...

At night, it was time to sleep and Auntie Wu was switching off the lights in the house. When she noticed that the kitchen lights were still on, she walked closer and found an imposing figure inside.

Sir?

It’s already so late at night, what is Sir doing in the kitchen?

Auntie Wu walked over to the kitchen and spotted Gu Mohan standing in front of the basin with a knife in his hand, he was slicing some bamboo shoots.

After he was done slicing the bamboo shoots, he began slicing the meat as he carefully followed the instructions on the cookbook.

Since Tang Mo’er was a fan of Jun Chulin’s ‘stir-fried pork with bamboo shoots’, naturally he had to master the dish too.

‘Stir-fried pork with bamboo shoots’ was the first dish he ever tried to learn how to cook, and it was all for Tang Mo’er’s sake.

Meanwhile, Tang Mo’er was fast asleep. Gu Mohan wore some trousers with an untucked black shirt, completing his casual appearance. His shirt wasn’t fully buttoned, revealing his muscular chest and toned arms. He was immersed in his activity as the faint yellow glow from the light gave the scene a gentle, domesticated vibe.

To think that this leading businessman, who was extremely powerful and influential, was willing to put everything down and enter the kitchen to cook for his beloved woman at night.

The wok was already heated and he added some oil before placing the meat slices inside. As he was inexperienced, the hot oil splattered on his arm and it turned an angry, splotchy red.

He wasn’t bothered at the least and continued experimenting with the recipe.

Auntie Wu stood behind and witnessed the scene, tears welling up in her eyes. Sir treated Madam so well that she couldn’t help but be moved.

...

The next day.

They had spent a long time in bed last night and hence Tang Mo’er woke up late in the afternoon.

She opened the room door and walked outside, scanning around with her luminous eyes and yet she couldn’t recall who she was looking for.

Her mind was blank, she had even forgotten all about Jun Chulin.

Her lips moved a little, she wanted to call out to someone but she simply couldn’t recall anyone. She had forgotten about Mr Gu.

Mr Gu’s face and name, she had forgotten it all.

She felt as though something significant in her life had vanished, she tried hard to recall but she just couldn’t.

Her mind drew a total blank.

She sat alone in the living room, not knowing what to do.

Who was she?

A deep voice resounded in her ears. “Mo’er, what are you doing there? Come over.”

Tang Mo’er spotted Gu Mohan with the tail of her eye. He was clad in a white shirt with black trousers, his handsome face and tall figure completed his immaculate look. He was extremely attractive.

Looking at this man, she was dazed.

Gu Mohan then walked over, holding her hand and coaxing her with a gentle voice, “Mo’er, you must be hungry, let’s eat.”

He held her hand and led her into the dining room.

There were three main dishes and one soup on the table, it had the right appearance, smell and even taste. The double-boiled winter melon bone broth was refreshing and delectable.

Auntie Wu scooped two bowls of rice and placed them on the dining table, speaking laughingly, “Young Madam, you should hurry and taste these dishes, they were all cooked by Sir himself.”

Tang Mo’er observed the man beside her, his face perfectly sculpted and attractive. She felt his presence to be familiar but she just couldn’t recall his name.

This man had cooked for her?

Gu Mohan picked up a piece of pork and placed it in her bowl. “Mo’er, have a taste and tell me if you like it.”

Tang Mo’er picked up her chopsticks and took a bite of it. Mmm, it tasted really good, so delicious!

It was probably the best stir-fried pork with bamboo shoots she had ever tasted. Closing her eyes as she chewed on the meat, she felt a warm feeling of happiness.

As she opened her eyes again, she noticed the scalded marks on the back of Gu Mohan’s hand, there were a few blisters on it and her heart throbbed. She felt as though someone had pierced a needle through her heart.

Grabbing his hand instinctively, she held onto it and trailed her fingers over his wound.

Gu Mohan could see her side profile and as her silky hair was tucked behind her ears, her delicate earlobe and flawless facial features were revealed. Her brows were furrowed and he could tell that she was feeling bad for him.

“Mo’er, I’m not in pain, don’t worry about it.”

Her heart was aching for him, that was enough for him.

Tang Mo’er batted her long eyelashes, her tiny mouth moved closer and she blew his wound gently.

It wouldn’t hurt as long as she blew his wound.

It was a childish yet heartwarming act that made Gu Mohan’s lips curve up.

...

After having lunch, Tang Mo’er had a sudden craving for an apple.

But the apples were placed on top of the fridge and she was too short to reach it.

She lifted her head, staring at the apples with her luminous, hopeful eyes. They were red and round, she couldn’t resist and tiptoed to reach for them.

But she still couldn’t reach them.

A large palm extended over from behind, grabbing the apple from the top of the fridge.

“Here you go.” He presented her with the apple.

Tang Mo’er turned back and Gu Mohan’s face filled her line of vision. He had one hand in his trouser pocket and the other hand was passing her the apple.

She was sandwiched between his warm chest and the fridge, his clean, masculine scent rushed into her nose. It was so captivating.

This scent was so familiar.

Though it was familiar, she just couldn’t remember anything.

Stretching out her hands, she was about to take the apple from him.

But he suddenly lifted his hand, raising the apple high up in the air and leaned closer. “You want it? Now tell me, who am I?”

Who was he?

Tang Mo’er looked at him helplessly.

Gu Mohan looked at her beautiful face. “Mo’er, did you forget about me? Now call me... Mr Gu...”

Mr Gu?

Mr Gu!

Tang Mo’er’s mind was filled with many scenes, the scene of her knocking into him three years ago? Mister, you are my man from now on.

Outside the City Hall, she ran her fingers over his face? Mr Gu, I’ll never forget about you, I’ll never.

Mr Gu.

Ah! So he was her Mr Gu.

Like that, the memories flooded into her mind and she remembered everything.

Tang Mo’er was thrilled, she ran over and buried herself in his embrace, holding onto his trim waist.

Gu Mohan felt his heart getting filled as this lithe and delicate body was in his arms again. He planted a kiss on her hair and coaxed her gently, “Mo’er, be good. Call me... Mr Gu.”

He wanted to hear it.

He wanted to hear her call him Mr Gu.

Tang Mo’er was beaming radiantly in his arms as her mouth opened and said, “Mr...”

But before she could finish speaking, her eyes fluttered shut and she collapsed into his arms.
