Simon was dumbstruck by Pearl’s sudden request for an Elixir Pill.
“How can you just ask for an Elixir Pill like that?” Simon turned away. “I could consider helping you with something else, but I can’t give you that.”
“Why not?” Pearl frowned in confusion.
Simon sighed deeply. “Because I only have one left. I used one of my remaining two pills to save your life three years ago. I have only one left. I can’t give it to you.” He was heartbroken, wondering how Pearl could ask for such a valuable item so casually.
“But it’s a matter of Richard’s life. I’ve checked on him, and he’s on the verge of death, with less than a month to live!”
