Chapter 106 - Something Good Happened
Chapter 106 - Something Good Happened
Song Xing Xing did not know how did she survived dinner with Lu Xun and returned to her apartment.
All she could remember was the bright look on Lu Xun's face the moment she had told him that it would be up to him whether he wanted to pursue him or not. She won't stop him. However, whether he would succeed or not would depend on his hard work.
Still… those little hope had made him very happy.
Seeing the light in his eyes, this time, Lu Xun was not trying to play around with her feelings again, right?
Afterward, Lu Xun had continued to peel those prawns and dealt with those crabs for her. Even when she wanted to tell him that she would rather do them herself, Song Xing Xing did not have the heart to say anything.
It seemed that he was very happy to do these things for her.
Dinner ended after she had cleared the food on the table. The food was delicious and with the special treatment she got from Lu Xun, Song Xing Xing returned home with a slightly bloated tummy.
Then, Lu Xun had sent her home.
The moment she stepped into the house, Mr. Fluffball was waiting for her at the door with a strange look on his face. The cat sniffed around her legs and started meowing.
Mr. Fluffball seemed as if he could smell the seafood on her body and he was dissatisfied that she had gone to eat without bringing him home some food for him.
Feeling slightly guilty towards the cat, Song Xing Xing went to the kitchen and pour his favorite wet food into his bowl.
After having her dinner with Lu Xun, her mind was slightly in a daze and she had forgotten about her vow to let Mr. Fluffball go on a diet.
Song Xing Xing watched as the cat started to eat and went back into her room. After taking a shower, Song Xing Xing grabbed her phone and lay on her bed.
Her movement halted the moment she saw the message notification on her phone.
Song Xing Xing clicked on the message and gasped when she saw that it was a message from Lu Xun, informing her that he had safely arrived at home.
Her fingers hovered over the screen as she pondered whether she should reply to his message or not.
After five minutes, she still could not make her decision. Even if she wanted to reply, she did not know what she was supposed to say.
As she was still hesitating, Lu Xun sent her another message. Song Xing Xing quickly clicked on the new message and held her breath.
"Song Xing Xing, you can't go back on your words, alright?"
Her heart skipped a beat as she thought about her conversation with him earlier in that restaurant.
When she saw the look in his eyes, Song Xing Xing decided to give him one more chance. At the same time, she wanted to give herself a chance.
She really had no plan to change her mind.
As she continued to stare at his message, another message suddenly popped up.
"Song Xing Xing, good night."
A chuckle escaped her. Song Xing Xing had never thought that receiving a simple text message from someone she liked could make her feel excited. Her fingers hovered over the screen again as she continued to hesitate.
This was the first time that she had liked someone and she had experienced heartbreak.
Song Xing Xing did not expect that after a while, things would turn around. This time, she would feel what it feel like to be chased by the person she liked.
The feeling made her heart jump in excitement and a little giddy.
However, this feeling also made her feel a little helpless. She actually did not know what she should do.
Song Xing Xing typed her message but afterward, she kept on deleting those words. After hesitating for a while, Song Xing Xing was finally satisfied with the message. However, before she could reply to this message, Mr. Fluffball had jumped into her bed and snuggled closer to her.
Song Xing Xing carried the cat into her lap and scratched his neck. As the cat closed his eyes with a blessed expression, Song Xing Xing held Mr. Fluffball tighter in her arms.
"Mr. Fluffball."
"Meow."
"Do you think I'm making the right decision? Should I trust his words this time?"
"Meow."
Song Xing Xing tried to look into the cat's eyes but Mr. Fluffball kept looking away. "Mr. Fluffball, do you like President Lu Xun?"
The cat finally stopped moving around and looked at his master. "Meow." Then, he leaned forward and kissed Song Xing Xing on her nose.
Seeing the cat's reaction, Song Xing Xing started to laugh. She let out a sigh and continued to scratch his head. "Forget it. It's not like you can really understand what I am saying, right?"
Mr. Fluffball blinked at her. Then, he laid his head on her arms seeming too lazy to care about his strange master.
Seeing that the cat has fallen asleep, Song Xing Xing closed her eyes and tried to sleep. However, the excitement caused her to be unable to sleep.
Song Xing Xing clicked her tongue, feeling a little jealous of the cat. It was good to be a cat. A cat could continue to sleep without having to worry about anything.
After tossing and turning for a few minutes, Song Xing Xing took her phone and decided to log into her game. During the nighttime, the server was a little crowded. Song Xing Xing walked around the city but could not see her character clearly.
The notification on the top blinked, telling her that there was a private message from a friend. Song Xing Xing clicked on the message and saw that it was General Huo.
General Huo: Little Star, it was rare to see you log in at this time. Can't sleep?
Not Your Little Star: Mhm...
General Huo: Then, how about accompanying me to kill some monsters?
Not Your Little Star: Alright. Send me your location.
Song Xing Xing saw the location that Huo Yun Chen had sent to her and quickly teleported to find her friend.
The moment she arrived, General Huo quickly added her to his team.
General Huo: Little Star, you should log in a few minutes earlier.
Not Your Little Star: What happened?
General Huo: Remember the last time I told you that Player 99 had sold his account?
Song Xing Xing chuckled as she recalled meeting the man online and saw him almost got killed by lower-rank monsters.
General Huo: A while ago, that player appeared to scatter red packets in the local channel. It seemed that something good had happened and he was feeling generous. Looking at the number of red packets, this new player should have spent a lot of money.
Song Xing Xing continued to listen to Huo Yun Chen and was regretting that she had not shown up earlier to grab those red packets.
