Chapter 38 - Caught A High Fever

Chapter 38 - Caught A High Fever

When Special Assistant Bei Yuan entered the president's office, he was surprised to see the president's panda eyes. For a few seconds, Bei Yuan continued to stand at the door as if he was unable to move.

He could still remember that President Lu Xun had told him that he wanted to head home early and sleep. Then what happened?

What's with the black rim around his eyes?

"What's wrong with you?"

Bei Yuan snapped out of his trance when he heard his boss's voice. He walked over to the table and asked, "President Lu, what happened to you?"

Lu Xun took off his glasses and massage the space between his brow. Last night, he had accompanied someone to eat lamb skewers all night. Although Song Xing Xing told him that he did not have to stay, Lu Xun was worried and his conscience would not allow him to leave.

In the end, the two of them chatted with him mostly asked her about her work at the studio. Hearing her praising him as a kind boss made his lips tilted up into a smile.

When the sky was brighter, he sent Song Xing Xing home and went back to his place. He did not even get time to catch a wink. Lu Xun then took a shower, changed his clothes, and went back to the office.

"Assistant Bei Yuan, help me to contact a reliable monk or an exorcist."

His expression changed. "What do you want to do? Why do you need an exorcist?" Bei Yuan looked at his boss's black circle again and wondered if something was disturbing him.

Bei Yuan listened to his boss about the incident from last night and his body shivered in fear. Suddenly, Bei Yuan started to wonder if their main office was alright as well. Maybe he should consider working overtime at the office.

"One more thing," Lu Xun spoke as his assistant was heading towards the door. "Inform the post-production that they will only need to show up at the studio in the morning. They don't need to rush with the episodes."

After checking over the details a few times, Bei Yuan left the office and informed the others not to disturb their boss. As he headed back to his desk, Bei Yuan recalled the supernatural incident at the new studio again and shivered.

When the post-production team showed up the next day, everyone heard the news from their big boss.

With the new working hours that their big boss had set up, the post-production team no longer have to show up at the studio in the evening. The production team will only show up at the studio to send over the cards and the post-production work can work on them in the morning.

Of course, the post-production team was very happy with this news. These days, they can finally go to bed at normal hours!

After lunch hour, Lu Xun stopped by at the studio and had a meeting with a few producers.

The first drama that they were going to produce will soon end their shooting. Seeing the public's reception about their drama even though it was still in production, the shareholders decided that it would be best for them to start working on a new project.

After the meeting ended, Lu Xun headed downstairs and decided to check on the staff. He walked into the office and saw that the computer that Song Xing Xing had used previously was not switched on. He looked around and the person was not there.

"President Lu, what are we doing here?" Special Assistant Bei Yuan has been following after his boss and thought that it was strange when he decided to stop by the office to look around.

Producer Ming seemed to notice that their big boss was standing in front of the door. He walked over and greeted him. "President Lu, why are you here?"

"Where's Song Xing Xing?"

Producer Ming glanced at the place where Song Xing Xing would often sit. "She called in sick this morning."

Liu Yu Sheng heard their conversation and spoke up, "President Lu, I think Song Xing Xing was still shocked after encountering something dirty and caught a high fever."

Lu Xun frowned. He seemed to recall that she was still fine when he left her in front of her apartment building. How did she suddenly caught a fever?

After exchanging a few words with the staff, Lu Xun left the studio and found that his assistant was still following him around.

"President Lu, are we going back to the office?"

Lu Xun was about to nod when he recalled that there was someone who was sick at home. Although he did not know Song Xing Xing for too long, Lu Xun could guess that the girl would not say a thing to her family member.

After pondering the matter for a while, Lu Xun gave him an address and asked his assistant to send him over.

When they arrived, Special Assistant Bei Yuan looked at the apartment and wondered what were they doing at such a place. He watched as his boss alighted the vehicle and wondered if he should come along.

After a brief hesitation, Bei Yuan turned off the engine and followed his boss. He did not know what was their boss up to and was worried when he did not mention a thing.

Lu Xun stopped at the elevator and turned to his assistant slowly. "Bei Yuan, go and find out which unit belonged to Song Xing Xing."

"Ah?" Bei Yuan was unable to hide his shock. Why was his boss looking for Song Xing Xing?

"Stop asking too much and go ahead and find out where she lives."

Bei Yuan stopped talking nonsense and quickly gave the HR department a call to find out Song Xing Xing's address.

...

Song Xing Xing was buried under her quilt when she heard the non-stop ringing bell from her front door. Her head was hurting. No matter how she wished for the sound to stop, the bell continued to ring.

Mr. Fluffball walked into her room and patted her face with his paw a few times. It was then that Song Xing Xing stood up and walked over to the door.

She looked at the screen and her small eyes suddenly grew bigger when she saw her big boss stood in front of her door. No matter how much she rubbed her eyes, that person still would not disappear.

She was not dreaming? Moreover, what was Lu Xun doing in front of her door? No. How did he know where she lived?
