Chapter 122: Midnight Confrontation

Chapter 122: Midnight Confrontation

Chapter 122: Midnight Confrontation

Everything moved according to King Jubilee's will once again. With all of the events that transpired, he didn't fail to place [Odd Balls] to watch over the whole event. Hovering just within the barrier in order to ensure their safety. But why did he do this exactly?

The soldiers stationed on the watchtowers wondered about this. Even Alice was the same. And, the answer is quite simple. Something which Solomon explained to the wondering Alice who asked him about it.

"Remember the time when he deployed the [Image Cores] to the other domains?"

"Yeah, it's almost been a year since that happened." Alice said in reply, getting Sol to nod as he continued explaining.

"Primarily, the king did that so the other domains could monitor our progress. In order to make them see that, all the methods we use are efficient and thus, needs to be imitated. But if you look at what's happening now, I think King Jubilee also placed this event into account."

Alice was finally able to piece together the bits of information. Getting a whole grasp of the picture and, what was actually happening.

On the other domains, the fight was displayed through these [Image Cores]. The same items made to simply broadcast the day to day lives of the citizens of the Void has been utilized to broadcast the fight. With the sound of gunfire, the blasts, the war cries and the dying screams all being heard.

The citizens were furious of course, as anyone would if they were riled up from sleep with loud new year like noises. Yet this frustration and annoyance soon turned into a mixture of emotions as, they witnessed how competent the defenses were.

This riled up the people once again. It was nearing midnight but, the people were hyped up. With questions in their minds and, with their monarchs getting troubled.

This was only the beginning of a long chain of plans which Jubilee had. With the Void king contacting the other monarchs right away. Telling them that they need to have an urgent meeting the following day. And because of the state of things, the monarchs couldn't do anything but follow Jubilee. Knowing that it was the best course of action to take.

Although this was so, the rulers had a strange feeling. Like they were being manipulated. As if Jubilee had complete control over their choices and on how things would flow form that point on. This thought crossed every monarch's mind that night. Making it even more difficult for them to fall back to slumber.

Meanwhile, Jubilee himself couldn't ask for a better situation. In fact, he was so delighted that he gave an announcement to Lilia and the favored knights Solomon and Alice.

"Take a break tomorrow. You guys deserve it." He declared, getting Lilia's face all twisted, with her brows furrowing and her eyes squinting.

"What kind of sick joke is that Jubilee?" The researcher asked in disbelief

"It's not a joke. I'm being serious and earnest here. You guys should take a break. Rest those bodies of yours. You've done enough and, I don't want you guys falling apart on me."

There was a short moment of silence. Sol and Alice could feel a strong energy coming form Lilia at that moment and, they didn't dare break it. The queen clenched her fist and, finally getting enough momentum she screamed:

"YESSS!" The sound she made resembled that of an enslaved woman finally being freed after  a hundred years of captivity and persecution.

The two children didn't know what to say or what to express on their faces however. Completely forgetting what it means to actually rest. After all, they've been on a mission for five months. Risking life and limb for the sake of the domains.

"You guys should go now. We're done here for tonight. Visit all of the places on the newly restored locations. That should get your bodies easing up all the built up tension on your nerves and muscles." King Jubilee said, with a wide grin on his face.

"Wait, what about you my liege?" Sol asked, worrying about the king.

"Me? Well, I still have something to look at." The Void King explained.

"Don't mind him. Hes juts like that sometimes." Lilia remarked, ridding on her griffin and inviting both Alice and Sol who accepted it willingly. However, Lilia still had something on her mind, gazing at Jubilee one last time.

"You're forbidden from taking back your word okay?"

"Of course." Jubilee answered, waving as the three finally flew to a distance; leaving King Jubilee whose smile slowly faded.

Even the soldiers were dismissed for the night. Nobody was on guard and the walls was completely devoid of any other human except for the king. That's why nobody was there to see the shadows that began crawling up to it

"Pandora, are you still there?"

"Of course I am. When have I ever left your side?" The Seraphim said in reply. Without a physical appearance and simply moving in the shadows.

"Good. So did you get their coordinates?"

"Yup. Are you sure about this though?" Pandora asked, wanting to ensure Jubilee's resolve.

"When have I been unsure on these things?" The king said, his voice unwavering.

"You really like putting yourself in danger huh. Well, it's not like I have any say about it." Pandora wrapped Jubilee in her shadows as the king disappeared into the infinite darkness.

[Shadow Dive]. This is the exclusive skill which the king could use because of his relations to the Seraphim Pandora. Because his body was basically already destroyed and, was 80% composed of living shadows, he was actively taking part of Pandora's skill set.

In this sense, it could be said that the king is a bit similar to the first generation who  actively devoured the Seraphims.

Though this skill, Jubilee traveled through the shadows. Permitting him to move at an insanely high speed. Towards any area that was previously marked. During the fight, Pandora was successfully able to do this. Leaving a small and almost undetectable mark on the shadow of the weakest emperor.

That's right. The fight was far from over. The king was far from letting acts of violence and war go unpunished. He went straight into the heart of danger. Appearing right in front of the four emperors.
