A Story of Evil

Chapter 85: The Euphoria

Chapter 85: The Euphoria

Chapter 85: The Euphoria

"No! This is not supposed to happen!" Bishop Baron stood in the midst of the crowd. Dumbfounded and at a loss for what to do.

The believers who were with him dropped their weapons immediately. With the seeming miracle that was in front of them, they couldn't help but join in. Showing their pride as citizens of that same domain. Shouting in glee together with everyone.

"WE ARE VOIDS!"

"WE ARE VOIDS!"

"WE ARE VOIDS!"

It was basically unanimous at that point. As if caught by a hypnotic spell of joy, the Voids all proclaimed their citizenship. In fact, some of the nuns and priests also joined in on it. While Bishop Baron himself was simply infuriated.

"No! Stop that!" He told one of his priests.

"Don't chant with the devil!" He told some of the people.

"YOU ARE BEING DECEIVED! WE MUST DETHRONE THAT POOR EXCUSE FOR A KING!"

Bishop Baron shouted from the top of his lungs yet, nobody heard him. His scream was muted in the sea of gleefulness. His hatred and anger had no place at that moment. He was an outcast.

"Mark this day Jubilee! I will expose you for what you truly are!"

The bishop decided that it was best for him to escape at that point. He has lost for that day and, knew that he needed to go back to the safety of his cathedral.

"Move you lowlifes! Out of my way!" He used his staff to navigate through the sea of people. He was in no way calm and, was getting more and more agitated by each passing second. That was probably why he hit the head of a child; harder than he intended. Making the young boy drop to the ground as he began crying.

The people may have muted his commands but, not the cries of the child. Gazes were fixed on him as the mother of the child came to pick him up. While the father confronted Bishop Baron.

"Hey, why did you do that man?"

"Does it matter you peasants? Move!" He swung his staff again, breaking its top as it hit the man's head.

"I am God's envoy! What I do is always justified!" His words were met by a man's fist. Knocking Baron out of balance and making him fall to the wet ground.

"How dare you!" He shouted but, all he received were kicks as a group of men surrounded him.

The funny thing about it was that, some of these weren't even foreign. They part of the faithful who rallied with him moments ago. Yet there they were doing the complete opposite.

Bones were broken while some of the Bishop's teeth fell off. His garment was torn and, he simply huddled up at that point. Praying that hell would open up and take all those "stupid" enough to hurt him who was "holy".

Then, as if his prayers were answered, the beating suddenly stopped. The bishop waited a few more seconds and, after realizing that it was done, he raised his head - wanting to give a sermon right away. But instead, he received a blade pointed at his throat.

"What is the meaning of this?" Right in front of him was Colonel.

Colonel had a wide grin on his face. The bishop looked around and, saw that he was surrounded by Soldiers. All holding on to priests and nuns. He was the only one missing from the group.

"Bishop Baron, you are hereby charged for the act of rebellion and treason against the monarchy. Anything you do or say may be used against you." A soldier went to the bishop, showing shackles which was supposed to detain him.

"Unhand me you filth!" He said, standing up immediately with his broken staff on hand.

The visible bruises were all over his body. There was nothing regal with his look as his clothes looked like a wild beast clawed and ravaged it. His declining hairline was messy and, his left eye had a shade of violet on it.

"I am the servant of God! I am not bound by the laws of men!" He proclaimed.

"You know, I really wanted to do this peacefully." Colonel said, stabbing his sword to the ground as he walked to wards the bishop. Snapping his fingers one by one and, completely showing his intent to punch Baron.

"What are you doing? Get away from me!" Baron continued waving his staff.

There was nowhere for him to go because, the soldiers had him surrounded. The people were also turning a blind eye on him, as if they couldn't see what was happening. Or rather, they enjoyed seeing what was happening.

"I said get away!" He swung his staff at Colonel.

The Knight easily caught this saying: "Why are you religious people crazy?" Sighing as he punched the Bishop to the ground. Knocking him out cold.

"Tie him up and bring him to jail. King Jubilee wants to interrogate them himself." Colonel said, with the soldiers moving quickly upon the order.

With this the group finally moved out. The detainees were complaining of course but, their words fell on deaf ears. In such a moment or great wonder, the people were in such awe that, things like the bishop getting arrested didn't matter anymore.

Meanwhile, Colonel looked up the sky which everyone enjoyed at that moment. The sun was still cruel in its dark red color. The sky was still dark purple. But, none of this mattered at that moment. Not to the people drinking the rain that poured. Not to the people enjoying the breeze.

"Looks like there are better days ahead of us Onyx." He muttered, following his orders and moving back to the headquarters.

Everything that went on in the Void at that moment was broadcasted to all of the domains. The people wanted the same. They wanted the air purifier and, the fresh water that seemed to be limitless. Both of which are things they already had in abundant and steady supply. However, seeing the Voids with such worriless expression made them feel envy.

Ironically enough, they were the ones who already had everything. But at that moment, who they wanted to be were the Void citizens. More than anything else. They wanted to be part of the lowest of the low. All because of the genuinely happy expressions drawn on all Void citizen's faces.

Everyone's attention then turned to the king. He made a few coughs, making all of the screen display focus on him once again. The Voids stopped cheering at that point. Nothing could get better than what was happening at that moment but, their joy would not allow them to disrespect their generous benefactor. Hence they remained silent and waited for what the Void king had to say.

"As for the people of the other domains, there is no need to worry. You will receive the same thing that my domain enjoys at this moment. Five days from now, all of the cylinders would be ready. After that, we will begin claiming more lands out of Chaos. All I ask is that you wait a bit longer."

The people from other domains were amazed. It was as if Jubilee heard their thoughts. This made them hopeful. Of a future that they have never seized before.

For the first time, the idea of going outside the domains was actually possible. Everyone thought of the mountains, valleys and hills. The rivers and waterfalls. The oceans. They thought about all the places they wanted to see. All which the world had to offer. It wasn't just the Void that was freed from a long nightmare. King Jubilee removed the shackles that bound humanity.

"While waiting, odd balls will be within my domain. You will see a live feed each and every day, proving that the air filters work and, that every other machine I will take out at this point is effective." Nobody disagreed with his words and, even the other monarchs envied Jubilee's charisma at that moment.

"That would be all." King Jubilee took a bow, ending the feed on his side as the oddballs began showing the Void Domain as a whole.

He then turned to the three who stood at his back. King Jubilee then made a few stretched and asked them:

"So how was it?"

"IT WAS AWEEESOOOOME!" Alice began, completely enticed and enchanted by the words and display King Jubilee put on.

"I would clap if I could move my hand properly." Sol said, with a smile on his face.

"It was decent enough." Lilia followed in an anti-climatic tone.

Solomon was beginning to have a new dream at that point. One which included being someone like King Jubilee. There was nothing concrete about this but, it was enough for the moment. He still had time. A lot of time.

"Well, unfortunately for us, results don't grow on trees." King Jubilee said, stealing one last glance at his people. A satisfied expression was written all over his face. It was a moment he waited for all his life after all. A moment when he could conquer fate.

"I'll finish the rain shower soon. The people would go back to their daily lives for sure. With that being said, I need to get going."

"Hey what about the paperwork?" Lilia asked, already having a headache forming from what Jubilee said.

"You can deal with them." The Void king replied grinning as he prepared another teleportation for him and the two children.

"What do you mean I can deal with them? This is your responsibility idiot!" The king simply laughed at Lilia as the teleport started. Taking him and the two away and, leaving the researcher to herself.
