Nekomata’s body floated aimlessly around the aerolite, with his eyes glued to that intriguing object. The aerolite was the only thing on his mind.
In the process of doing so, Nekomata felt something strange. It seemed like his power was increasing, bit by bit.
Naturally, he was clueless about the story behind it. This aerolite was part of the meteorite which gave birth to the thousands of supercats roaming across the Earth.
Since acquiring this coveted aerolite, the Cat Sage had retreated to the cat island.
Cat Sage was a learned individual. He knew that it was impossible to survive alone in this increasingly complex and dangerous world. No matter how great an individual was, he was still bound to have his weaknesses. Hence, he required the support of stronger companions.
Coupling his individual strength with the aerolite’s enigmatic effects, Cat Sage commenced his search for strong individuals. By naming the aerolite Sage Rock, he had come to build the cat island which we know of today.
Hearing news of a trespasser, who was an apostle, successfully infiltrating his base, a line began to etch across his forehead, “An apostle? However, he came alone. It’s highly likely that he got lost and somehow managed to intrude on us.”
With that, his eyes gravitated in the direction of an orange and black cat, “Number one, number two, I want you to bring that apostle over. However, do not injure him. If he is too strong for you, immediately retreat. Do not let your hunger for bloodshed blind you. After all, time is on our side.”
The two cats shot one another a glance before they got to their feet and proceeded towards the exit.
Kimchi cautioned, “Cat Sage, the humans have started to notice the presence of the cat island. I believe the fog will not stop them for long.”
“It’s okay,” Cat Sage responded with a dismissive wave of his paw. In his rat form, he began to rub his body against the aerolite and continued, “I can feel it. My power is on the brink of a whole new level. By then, I’ll treat these pathetic beings to a sneak preview to my new power. I’m sure they’re smart enough to choose life over death. This will spell the beginning of cat island’s ascent.”
Just moments after their deployment, the supercat who first reported to Cat Sage came sprinting with its tail caught between its legs, “Bad ... it’s bad, really bad.”
Cat Sage’s annoyance flared as he retorted, “What is the matter now?”
“Cat Sage! Number one and number two had been destroyed by the apostle and are held captive by him.”
“What?” Cat Sage leaped from the aerolite with his every muscle tensed with fury, “Both number one and two are captured by him?”
“It’s not just the two of them! That apostle is wreaking havoc on the island, capturing any cat which meets his eyes. He is insane! He isn’t even human!”
Cheese slowly got to his feet and shouted, “Cat Sage, let me take care of that brazen fool. I will make him regret his every single action.”
Cat Sage was no fool. He shook his head and answered, “The fact that the apostle had successfully captured number one and two means that he is no pushover. Furthermore, he is absolutely confident in his abilities.”
With that thought in his head, Cat Sage added, “Since it has come to this, I would like the rest of you to join me in staying here. This place will mark our ultimate fortification. He shall not pass us.”
...
The past 10 minutes spent bashing through the fog was no joke. It was torturous. Finally, a faint smile spread across William’s face as he noticed the supercats on the island.
“Number 0 has truly exceeded my expectations. I never expected him to be able to gather so may supercats on this island.”
William handled the bulk of metal wires as if they were cotton twine. With his monstrous strength, he had bent and twisted them into a huge metal bag.
Beneath William’s foot laid the unconscious number one and two which were previously dispatched by Cat Sage. They couldn’t even put up any form of resistance against William.
They were not the only ones. Beside them laid tens of other supercats which shared a similar fate to them as they laid unconscious on the ground.
“So many supercats! I’ll be rich if I manage to bring all of them back! Furthermore ...”
Mechanically, William tossed the unconscious supercats into his metal bag, with his mind focused on one thought: the status of his god_system. Since arriving at the island and capturing the supercats, he had completed multiple missions which elevated his combat strength to the next level.
William’s journey since his successful breakthrough of the fog was unprecedented. Any supercat which obstructed his path was knocked unconscious with a single blow before they were thrown into the bag. With the metal bag slung across his shoulders, he continued his journey.
Number one and two proved to be stronger than the rest, but they too were destroyed in William’s hands.
Happiness sparkled inside William as he stared at his god_system interface, “As long as I have this, I can continue to complete more missions and continue to grow stronger. It’s only a matter of time before I become the strongest apostle around.”
“Even if I don’t return to my original organization, I already have what it takes to establish my very own supercat organisation from this mission’s loot. The cats and aerolite in this place will form the foundation of my dreams!”
Just the thought of it sent a wave of warmness spreading across his chest, “Not bad, not bad at all! There are so many cats here. Anyone of them combined with ten apostles will form a superpower detachment. And I haven’t even gotten to the part of the aerolite!”
William was drunk with happiness. With a quick twitch of his calf muscles, he had propelled his body tens of meters in the air. It was as if he were immune to the effects of gravity.
Zhao Yao and Xiao Yu continued tagging behind William. However, there was a tinge of fear across Xiao Yu’s face as she slid William a guarded look. Her eyes darted towards Zhao Yao as she whispered into his ears, “Who the hell is he? Why is he so strong?” She was flabbergasted by William’s absurd display of strength.
“Erm, just another American soldier, I guess he’s something like Rambo, the Punisher or Batman,” Zhao Yao replied casually. Meanwhile, a red flicker continued to flash across his eyes as he manipulated Ares’s power.
In reality, the three of them were shrouded within the sphere of the deflective field. Every horrific attack produced by William was amplified by the deflective field. This was how he managed to shatter the ground, leaped across the vast fields and even bypassed the supercats’ defenses.
Zhao Yao was simply using William as a pawn to assess the strength of the supercats’ aboard the island.
With her finger pointed straight at Zhao Yao’s eye, Xiao Yu asked, “Hey, your eyes have turned red since the start of our journey. Please tell me that you’re not wearing those colored contact lenses.”
Zhao Yao corrected her, “I’m not wearing those frivolous contact lenses. This is part of my power.”
Meanwhile, William spotted the neat rows of cottages in the corner of his eyes as a smile tugged at his lips, “Are they there?” To him, the island had already morphed into a giant treasure trove, brimming with gold and silver. He wasted no time as his body darted towards the cottages.
A thunderous blast swept into the surroundings as a giant crater emerged from William’s descent. This time around, the earth he stood on began to crack as countless piles of soil came flying towards him, enveloping his entire body within it.
“Hmph? Another supercat?” William smirked. He didn’t even bother to lower his metal bag. Instead, he thrust his right fist in the air before swinging them in a seemingly haphazard manner. Immediately, the airwaves produced clashed against the piles of soil, intercepting every single attack and rendered them futile.
William slowly raised his head to the sight of Cheese, Kimchi and four other supercats surrounding him in a circle. A tiger stood in the far corner with a rock dangling by his fangs. The tiger’s vicious stare was enough to send chills down any human’s spine.
