Awakened: The Spirit King!

Chapter 65: The First Poem: Twin Skies

Chapter 65: The First Poem: Twin Skies

The sky above was full of white, fluffy clouds, which blanketed the blinding sun.

The clear lake below the white expanse reflected what was above it perfectly, making it seem like whiteness was in the sky and also the land.

Trees with pink petals so beautiful that they would hook the soul of any onlooker surrounded the dreamy lake, draping their shadows onto it.

It was such beautiful scenery that Xie Yang felt enchanted.

'I see thousands of petals covering the clouds too white.

'I see vibrant pink resting on snowy white for endless nights.'

'I see a magnificent sky too far away, and I see one in my reach.

'Is it a twist of fate, a miracle of God, or the creation of man?'

'I see a lake too clean, and I see many mouths touching it to feed.'

'Near it, in every breath, I savor the scent of cherry, and in every ten steps, I see a spiritual ashen tree.'

'The fairies sing beautiful melodies, the wolves howl in reminiscent of days long gone, and the beast king roars pridefully; reflected in their eyes, a similar sight. Two skies, one world, a sight to behold, found only in the forest inhabited by myriad races.

Truly a wonderful sight it is, soothing to the eyes and too otherworldly for me to define using mere words, ah.

'Even though this is my 3rd time seeing this picturesque scenery, I still feel awed by its beauty and blinding brilliance.'

After stepping out of the cave, standing at the end of a cliff and catching the sight of a white sky above and a lake that reflected it clearly sharing the same heaven and earth, Xie Yang, who had come to this secret spirit realm multiple times, made a poem on the spot

His eyes were twinkling in happiness, which was caused by him witnessing the natural wonder of the secret spirit realm.

He had seen a lot of beautiful places in his past life, but this one was comparable to one of the best.

Xie Yang's admiration fell short as he was here to take care of something important, and without any hesitation, he leaped forward and plunged down the cliff.

Dust raised into the air, filling it with vibrant color as he landed safely on the ground without breaking a bone.

Then, he rushed forward, trying to reach a particular spot near the lake before someone else, who was the target of his greedy heart and intense murderous desire.

While running so fast that it seemed hard to determine whether it was a man or ghost, he stepped closer and closer to his destination, which was a tree that he had marked with his sword a day ago.

Moments later, Xie Yang charged out from behind the trees and reached the shore before jumping and stepping in the middle of the lake, causing numerous ripples to appear on its surface.

Between the two expanses of whiteness, one fake, one real, he, whose facial features to explain in a single word were too exquisite, stood still without sinking.

He had red lips, sword-like eyebrows, a high nose, and a sharp jaw, all of which combined to make him look like an immortal who had stepped out of a divine painting. Even though the expression on his face was somewhat devilish and the aura around him was exceedingly murderous, one look was more than enough for anyone to feel captivated by him.

A devilishly handsome man he was, one with no equal in looks and demeanor.

Xie Yang stepped forward, seemingly walking on the lake, and he did it with such control that not a single more disturbance aroused in the lake's surface, causing the tranquility to return to as it was, soothing to the soul.

Only a cultivator with immense control over his spiritual energy could walk on water.

No one had ever heard a peak level 6 cultivator walking on water.

After all, unlike Xie Yang, 99.99% of the level 6 cultivators don't have great control over their spiritual energy.

Once Xie Yang neared the other side, he put some strength on his raised right foot, smashed it on the watery surface below, shooting himself forward in an upward arc, leaping towards the crown of one of the many trees.

He landed on its branch and hid behind a bundle of leaves.

A thoughtful look flashed across his squinted eyes as he calculated that his target should be arriving here soon.

"I should set up the trap now.'

To ensure that the other party wouldn't notice him, Xie Yang hurried to erase traces of his presence.

His breathing became less noticeable.

He also used a camouflaging talisman on himself, causing his figure to blur out of existence.

He didn't use it on the tree as it disappearing would've indeed aroused the suspicion of his target, who was a regular visitor of this place and knew how many trees there were here.

Lastly, he used the Suppression Talisman to hide his aura and bodily scent.

Within a few short breaths, it felt as if there was no one on the tree.

"Thud, thud!"

Only a few minutes after Xie Yang hid all traces of his existence, he heard a clatter of hoofs.

A beast came walking towards the lake.

It had sixteen limbs, each with steel-like claws with sharp, pointy ends, so sharp that it was child's play for them to cut into someone's neck or gorge into a human's flesh.

'Fighting it head-on is the same as committing suicide. I must wait for it to lower its guard before making my move.'

Xie Yang took the difference between their strengths into consideration, and after concluding that he was more than 15 levels below it, he decided to overwhelm it through tactics rather than a frontal assault, which would be rather foolish of him.
