“I can’t say for certain what Lillian might be planning against you, Emma. But considering her past
behavior, I thought it prudent to warn you. Whether you take my advice or not is your choice,” Alex
spoke, leaving the decision to Emma.

“So, you’re warning me because deep down, you believe she won’t go through with it?” Emma inquired,
her voice laced with a hint of bitterness. She recognized Alex’s inherent bias towards his sister, despite
his apparent concern for Emma.
Alex, unable to answer definitively, remained silent. His hope was that Lillian would refrain from drastic
measures, yet he was wary of her unpredictable nature.
Emma, acknowledging Alex’s warning, assured him of her preparedness. “Thank you for the heads- up,
Alex. But if Lillian does something outrageous, don’t expect me to stand idly by.”
After their conversation, Emma left to join Wayne, her mind racing with potential scenarios. She sent
him a text, explaining the situation and Alex’s warning.
Wayne, concerned, turned to Emma. “Alex warned you? Is this a joke or something? Should we take
preemptive action?”
Emma shook her head. “No, let’s see how far Lillian is willing to go. I’m ready for whatever she has
planned.”
