Chapter 28: University of Bulgaria

Chapter 28: University of Bulgaria

Aleko Konstantinov asked with a frantic look, "What should we do now? The university guards can't hold them off for long?"

"Sorry to have dragged you into this! I didn't expect these hawks to have such a good nose, I'll go out and turn myself in now. After all this is the only university in Bulgaria, as soon as they catch me, they..." Kavinlev said with regret.

Aleko interrupted him and exclaimed, "No, my friend, you can't go out there! If you fall into their hands, you'll be finished! You're right, this is the only university in Bulgaria, and those hawks won't dare to do anything to us!"

"You hide here first. I'll go out and think of a way, I'll be back soon! Don't worry, my friend, don't forget that the rector of the university is still the Knyaz. They wouldn't dare to do anything!"

With that, Aleko quickly walked out to find someone to discuss strategy. The same scene also happened in other areas of the campus.

When Aleko arrived at the office, several people had already gathered inside. Apparently, many people had done the same thing as him and were now busy trying to figure out what to do afterward.

"Aleko, you're just in time. Come along and figure out what to do with those hawks out there!" His good friend Klinton interrupted his thoughts.

At that moment, Adolf Kohl came in and said, "Well, gentlemen, please be quiet for a moment!"

After seeing the crowd quiet, he continued, "The Sofia police have provided us with a list of suspects who have solid evidence and want us to hand over the hundred or so people on it! We will send it to you now to check it out and then we will talk about it!"

Aleko looked at the list carefully with anxiety, and when he saw a name, he then turned pale.

At the same time, the people's faces were different. Some were grateful, and some were ashen.

Seeing that it was about time, Adolf Kohl continued, "Okay, everybody's done reading! Is there anything you want to say?"

"Mr. Kohl, this is a total slander! How can they be a rebel party?"

"Right!"

"This is all slander!"

...

The crowd gets agitated, the scene descends into chaos, and Aleko follows suit!

"All right, gentlemen. For the love of God, be quiet for a moment!" Kohl scolded in a stern voice.

"Whether they are slanderous or not, that is a question we can discuss slowly later! Now that the Sofia police are illegally surrounding the university, I suggest that we protest to them in the name of the university and tell them to withdraw immediately!"

"In addition, for the issues raised by the police, our university should organize a self-inspection, and heavy fines will be imposed on those who violate university rules!"

"As for how to deal with it, wait for the final investigation results are out. After reported to the rector, he will make a decision! Today's incident, I have reported to the Ministry of Education."

The faces of the people were flushed for a while and then paled in a pretty way. Aleko's mood was also up and down, happy for a time and then worried.

After a moment of silence, Adolf Kohl said, "Gentlemen, if you have no objections, then let's go and protest to the police now!"

The crowd reacted instantly. Everyone didn't care how to deal with it later. They had to get through it first. They got up and rushed towards the entrance of the campus.

What has happened in recent months, they are very aware that all the suspects taken away by the police have not been out.

A few days ago, on Christmas Day, there was a horrific mass stabbing. Everyone knows that the police are busy catching the murderer. If they are bound to be related to this incident, they must be in bad luck.

Even those who are not involved are scared. Who knows if the police will take them in as accomplices. Now the top government officials have gone crazy, perhaps putting everyone together directly with the raid.

...

Seeing no response from inside the campus for a long time, one of the police officers in the cafe across from the main entrance, inside the private room on the second floor, poked his head in and asked, "Chief, should we send someone to rush in?"

When he heard that, the middle-aged man's face changed slightly, and he sternly scolded: "Shut up, Yakov, you stupid! Didn't I tell you to keep it a secret. I am not here today, you are in charge here. If you shout like that, everyone will know I'm here!"

"Yes, yes, you're not there!" The officer named Yakov said as he bent over with a big smile and lowered his voice.

The middle-aged man said solemnly: "Rush, my ass! You don't see what kind of place this is? The only university in Bulgaria, where the Knyaz himself is the rector. In case of clash with the suspect and kill a few of the precious inside, how can you compensate!"

"Then we just surround it like this? However, it is not the way to do it. The superior has imposed such limits, and it is not good to submit a report!" Police officer Yakov said with a sad face.

"Wait a little longer, if there is no result at noon, you will lead people to rush in. Be sure to instruct the people under your charge, be smart, don't cause trouble!" The middle-aged man instructed.

"Don't worry, Chief! You can rest assured that I've done my job. When has anything ever gone wrong with me before? I'll be careful, as long as the suspect inside doesn't resist, nothing can go wrong!" Police Officer Yakov assured.

The middle-aged man was satisfied with the officer's behavior and promised, "Well, do a good job! After you get this done, you'll be Sergeant Yakov!"

"Ugh, someone is coming out, they are all here! You go deal with it, remember to be polite. My teacher is also among them, I'll leave first!" The middle-aged man said and left without waiting for Yakov's reply.

Seeing the middle-aged man exit the cafe through the back door, Jaime took a deep breath. Slowly went down the stairs and strolled toward the university.

The corners of his mouth moved slightly, and he cursed angrily in a voice only he could hear: "Damned fuck off! I was born and died for you, and now I'm actually being used as cannon fodder!"

"Heartless things, and knowing that your teacher is among them. God knows how many other big shots in the government with fellow teachers in the ranks. Is that gang of old men easy to mess with? They come to lean on the old man, what can I do to them?"

"Damn it, I should have known better to reveal something to them, I shouldn't have taken this hard credit! It doesn't matter if we can't catch anyone, but we must not have a fight. If I hurt the Knyaz's treasure by mistake, I'll be in trouble!"

"God forbid, there better be a secret passage in the campus, so that the rebellious party can all run away and let me go in for a smooth stroll. That way everyone will be better off if you are good!"

A hundred or so meters, Yakov walked for ten minutes, and he also idly walked too fast for himself.

When they saw Yakov coming, an old teacher, who was about sixty years old, sternly and angrily cursed, "Yakov, you bastard, get over here! How dare you lead people to surround the university? Who gave you the guts?"

Yakov just felt his legs go weak and had to run into someone he knew. He still has vivid memories of going to school more than ten years ago.

When he was a student of this old gentleman, because of his family's dire situation, he also received financial support from the old gentleman to barely finish secondary school and then became a police officer.

He didn't expect to meet again after more than ten years. Jaime's eyes could not help but moisten up. He walked to the old man respectfully saluted, shouted: "Hello, Mr. Orsk!"
